Ean Evans, the bassist for Lynyrd Skynyrd, has died after a long battle with cancer.
It's the second death in the storied band this year. In January, Billy Powell, the former keyboardist, also died.
In 1977 three band members died in a plane crash.

The rock quartet is on fire after recording and performing new material from their upcoming album, "Mandatory Ambulance," due out in Fall 2006. The band has opened for bands like Depeche Mode and Roger Waters, and could be on its way to becoming a headliner.
