Scott Stapp: Now With Less Hair, Facial Weight

Obscurity does the body good. Just ask former Creed singer Scott Stapp.
Scott Stapp
The 35-year-old resurfaced at some event in Boca Raton this weekend, looking much healthier and a tad bit douchey.

It's amazing what breaking up your Christian rock band or allegedly throwing a bottle at your wife can do for a fella.

Alter Bridge Stand Up for America!

While Scott Stapp has been busy confessing his sins, his former Creed bandmates in Alter Bridge having been kicking some butt. And not just on stage. (Well- at least their road crew has.)

According to a statement posted on their official website, the boys from the Alter Bridge crew took umbrage at what they felt was some anti-American slurring by the lead singer of the band Living Things.  That band's singer reportedly had some vile words for our fair nation that didn't sit well with one of Alter Bridge's roadies. After the nasty rant, as noted on their site, the roadie proudly pointed over toward guitarist  Mark Tremonti's gear, which was decorated with American flag.

The Living Things reportedly claim that the crew and one of the Alter Bridge band members joined an ensuing fracas, but Alter Bridge say the crew alone handled things. The band explained their side of the story on their official website:

"After The Opening Band members charged, our crew member was forced to defend himself. Another member of our crew was forced to protect Alter Bridge's equipment, as one of The Opening Band members went straight for Mark's guitar rig in attempt to pull out cables and render the equipment incapable of playing the show that night."

Alter Bridge further explained in the statement that they don't mind differing political views being expressed, but the statements that night were "simply ignorant, offensive, and unacceptable. Alter Bridge and our crew stood up for America that night."

Standing up for Old Glory - Toby Keith would be proud.

Stapp Comes Clean

Scott Stapp: Click to WatchPromoting a new album means many personal questions will be aimed at you, and former Creed frontman Scott Stapp is no exception. Stapp has had his run-ins with scandal, having been arrested for disorderly behavior in February and had a sex tape leaked soon after.

Stapp was actually quite candid about both incidents though and defends his actions. About the bust for drunk and disorderly conduct at LAX he says, "I was on my way to my honeymoon with my wife the day after we go married, celebrating our marriage. Apparently someone did not like the fact that I was in such a chipper great mood...You are not allowed to be intoxicated in public I found out." No charges were filed in that incident.

Woman Sues Stapp Over Sex Tape

Lawsuit seeks to prevent sale

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

(Mar. 3) -- A woman who claims to be involved in a video showing Scott Stapp and Kid Rock with several strippers has sued Stapp for invasion of privacy.

The woman, identified as Jane Doe in a lawsuit filed in Miami on Thursday, claims she was under the belief that the video was to remain in Stapp's private possession.

The lawsuit seeks to prevent the sale of the video and asks for unspecified damages. The suit alleges the woman suffered emotional distress and the video used her name or likeness without her permission.

"For all purposes, she is the star of the females in the video," the lawsuit said.

Stapp claims the tape, which was made in 1999, was stolen from him. The former lead singer of Creed and Kid Rock have won a temporary court order in Michigan preventing World Wide Red Light District from distributing the video or promoting any part of it.

Red Light, which sold the infamous Paris Hilton sex tape in 2004, had displayed a 40-second preview clip of the video on its Web site. The company, which also is mentioned in the Miami suit, has acknowledged that the tape came from a third party, but has denied that it was stolen. There was no published telephone listing available for Red Light in California.

The tape was released just days after Stapp married former Miss New York Jaclyn Nesheiwat in Miami on Feb. 10.

Stapp, 32, says the tape was made soon after he was divorced from Hillaree Burns.

He said he previously told his new wife about having a wild year and that she accepts the tape as part of his past.

"You think it's part of your rock 'n' roll memories," Stapp told AP radio in a recent interview. "I should have burned that tape."

Kid Rock has blamed Stapp for losing the video, but he also called the video "perfect timing."

"I got a record coming up ... Maybe I should thank him," Rock told the AP in an interview Wednesday.

Kid Rock: Stapp an "Idiot" for Losing Tape

Holds the former Creed frontman responsible

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

(Mar. 2) -- Kid Rock blames Scott Stapp for losing a sex video showing them with several strippers, but appreciates Stapp for one thing. "What perfect timing," Rock told The Associated Press in an interview Wednesday. "I got a record coming up ... Maybe I should thank him."

The hard-partying rap-rocker, whose new live concert album "Live Trucker" hit stores Tuesday, defended his backstage antics, saying, "It's not any big revelation that this goes on in rock 'n' roll, especially with who I am."

Still, Rock (aka Robert Ritchie) has fired back against Stapp's claim that the tape was stolen, saying the former Creed singer filmed the tape, which was made in Rock's motor home in 1999, and is responsible for losing it.

"He's the idiot because it's out," the 35-year-old Rock said. "I'm holding him responsible."

Rock has won a temporary court order preventing World Wide Red Light District from distributing or promoting the video.

Red Light, which sold the Paris Hilton sex tape in 2004, had displayed a 40-second preview clip of the video on its Web site. The company has acknowledged that the tape came from a third party, but denied it was stolen.

"At this point, I don't even care," said Rock, who said he hasn't spoken to Stapp since the tape was filmed.

He's upset, though, that someone might make money from the tape. "If there's money to be made, it's my performance" he said.

In a recent interview with AP Radio, Stapp, 32, said he thinks the sex video was stolen from him and is meant to destroy his career.

Rock scoffed at that notion: "I'm like, what are you talking about? This tape gets out it's your tape and you're (saying) someone's trying to sabotage your career?"

Rock said he invited Stapp to join him and four strippers after Stapp entered his motor home with a video camera and asked to "get in" on the action.

"'I only got two beers left,'" Rock said, describing what he deemed to be his gracious behavior toward Stapp, whom he had never met. "`You can have one.' How nice is that?"

He said he's further upset to be associated with sex tape scandal subjects Hilton, Colin Farrell and ex-girlfriend Pamela Anderson.

"I don't want to be in that company with all these idiots (who have) sex tapes, which is why I've never had a video camera," he said. "I agree I knew the tape was going on at the time I must have. Although, I'll guarantee you, I wasn't sober."

Stapp Says Sex Tape Was Meant to Sabotage

Former Creed frontman: "I should have burned that tape"

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Scott Stapp thinks a recently released sex video showing him and Kid Rock with several strippers is meant to sabotage him.

"Obviously someone wants to hurt me and doesn't want me to be successful in my solo career," Stapp told AP Radio in a recent interview.

Stapp claims the tape, which was made in 1999, was stolen from him. He and Kid Rock have won a temporary court order preventing World Wide Red Light District from distributing the video or promoting any part of it.

Red Light, which sold the infamous Paris Hilton sex tape in 2004, had displayed a 40-second preview clip of the video on its Web site. The company has acknowledged that the tape came from a third party, but has denied that it was stolen.

The tape was released just days after Stapp, the former lead singer of Creed, married former Miss New York Jaclyn Nesheiwat in Miami on Feb. 10.

Stapp, 32, says the tape was made soon after he was divorced from Hillaree Burns.

He said he previously told his new wife about having a wild year and that she accepts the tape as part of his past.

"You think it's part of your rock 'n' roll memories," Stapp said. "I should have burned that tape."

The tape was not the only thing causing Stapp headaches. A day after his wedding, Stapp was arrested for investigation of being drunk at Los Angeles International Airport. He is set for arraignment on March 8.

"You don't want to say it's laughable, but it's just like, my God, there's so much stuff," he said. "Somebody does not like you and somebody wants you to fail."

Stapp, who won a Grammy in 2000 for Creed's song "With Arms Wide Open," released his first solo album, "The Great Divide," last November.

Kid Rock Sues to Stop Sale of Sex Video

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Kid Rock has won an initial victory in his attempt to stop a California company from releasing an explicit sex video featuring the rap-rocker, former Creed singer Scott Stapp and four women.

U.S. District Court Judge John Feikens in Detroit signed a temporary order that stops David Joseph and his World Wide Red Light District company from posting a preview clip of the video on its Web sites.

On Tuesday, Kid Rock's lawyers sued Red Light, which made headlines in 2004 by distributing the Paris Hilton sex video, accusing the firm of violating Kid Rock's trademark and privacy rights. The lawsuit seeks a permanent court order halting sale or distribution of the video.

"We don't deny the authenticity of the tape," Kid Rock's lawyer, William Horton of Troy, told the Detroit Free Press. "But they're using this without his permission to drive the sales of their other products."

TMZ Exclusive: Scott Stapp -- Arrested

TMZ has learned that Creed lead singer Scott Stapp was arrested Saturday at LAX on charges that he was drunk in a public place (Penal Code, Section 647).

Police sources tell TMZ that Stapp tried to board a plane yesterday but was allegedly so drunk that airline personnel would not let him on. Sources say Stapp was "antagonistic, boisterous and pissed off."

We're told Stapp was taken to LAPD's Van Nuys division and demanded a blood-alcohol test. He blew a .18, more than twice the legal limit.

Stapp's arrest in LA came just one day after his marriage in Miami. His bride is Jaclyn Nesheiwat. Unclear if she was at the airport during the arrest.

Stapp must appear on March 8 for arraignment.
