You would think the couple that tweets together, stays together -- but alas, it is not so.
Derek Hough and Shannon Elizabeth posted matching Tweets last night announcing their breakup. The couple first met when they were partnered together during season six of "Dancing with the Stars."
One of them will probably drown their sorrows at the poker table, while the other will probably spend the day at the hair salon.

Bluffs work at the tables, not in real life -- a lesson one professional poker player could learn after allegedly screwing a company out of big bucks over the movie "Deal."
Gambling Times, Inc. claims in a lawsuit that poker player Scott Lazar (the movie's exec. producer) promised the company a "highly visible" product placement during the film -- which starred Burt Reynolds and Shannon Elizabeth -- in exchange for a $50,000 investment.
But according to the lawsuit, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, the plug was far from highly visible... because it didn't exist at all.
Now here's the ironic part: G.T. is suing Lazar for no less than $1,000,000 in damages -- but the film only made... get this... $78,000 WORLDWIDE when it hit theaters back in 2008.

Shannon Elizabeth is harboring a killer! Well, not exactly. But her dog did kill a poor defenseless puppy.
Try to follow this one. Derek Hough's mom blogged that one of Shannon's four dogs killed her daughter Katherine's maltese teacup puppy. Shannon tried to make amends by giving Derek's sis a rescue "replacement" pup.
Turns out this is a big no-no in the animal activist world -- which Shannon should know, since she founded her own dog rescue org.
Now here's the kicker. Katherine Hough has 86'd the pup and given it to her "DWTS" sis Julianne. But Julianne can't keep the dog so she's looking for a new home on her own blog.
As they say ... screw the pooch.

Shannon Elizabeth doesn't think it was her fans or the judges that got her booted off -- but instead blamed her ousting on a "bigger force." And we know what it might be.
We're told the support staff at "DWTS" (think makeup and wardrobe) couldn't stand her diva ways. We're told everyone got worried when Cristian de la Fuente got injured because they figured that meant one more week of Shannon's bitchy attitude.
They were upset to see Derek finally go, but anything to get rid of Shannon.

Priscilla Presley and the rest of the cast were asked about Elvis' ex-wife's botched injections and the secret choreographers used on the show.
The 62-year-old Scientolostar said she didn't even know what the photog was talking about -- and the rest weren't too thrilled with the line of questioning either.

While the kiddies of "American Idol" are put under lockdown, the "Dancing with the Stars" contestants were out for a tough night of "practicing" at Social. It takes brew to tango!

She hasn't had major shine since, well, we can't remember when, but now that Shannon Elizabeth is prepping for "Dancing With The Stars", she might finally see a rise in her celebrity. Or not.

There are times when a TMZ photog comes to a celebrity crossroads, and last night found us at a difficult fork -- to follow former Laker James Worthy or comedian Richard Lewis. Too many choices!

A federal judge granted a preliminary injunction against DirecTV, blocking the satcaster from airing certain commercials -- one of which features "Baywatch" babe Pam Anderson.
Comcast, the cable operator that sought the injunction, claiming that ads boasting DirecTV has better HD picture quality than cable were "unscientific." In the spot, featuring Pam in her signature "Baywatch" swimsuit, she turns to camera and says, "DirecTV's picture quality beats cable 4 to 1." Clearly, if someone is making their HD decisions based on Pam Anderson's recommendations, they deserve what they get.
Also yanked was an "American Pie" spoof, featuring Shannon Elizabeth saying, "More people voted DirecTV's picture quality superior to oppressive cable." In a statement issued Friday, a DirecTV spokesman said, "We are quite perplexed by the court's conclusions. The facts simply don't support these decisions."

While Hayden Panettiere and the hilarious cast of "The Office" brought a little A-listness to an MTV Movie Awards Luxury Lounge yesterday, the rest of the guest list read like the casting call for the next episode of "Surreal Life Does Supermarket Sweep."
Poor little Hayden was forced to surrender her hand to Jason "Gummi Bear" Davis for a kiss, as buddy David Weintraub looked on -- with David later boasting about his big feet. Elsewhere in the suite, a busty Traci Bingham waxed poetic on Lindsay and Paris, while Bree's gay son from "Desperate Housewives," Shawn Pyfrom, showed off his Dance Dance Revolution skills.
"Road Rules" star Derrick was caught getting a manicure, "Real World: New York's" The Miz was happy to be spotted sober (for once) by TMZ, and "RW: Key West's" Johnny Bananas talked s**t about Paris until he heard she may be stopping by the suite for a visit.
"Idol" wannabeen Justin Guarini, Borat sidekick Ken Davitian and Shannon Elizabeth were also in attendance, and Shar Jackson had a tip to keep Lindsay out of trouble -- "Get an Xbox!"

DUI celebuboobs Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie had an unusual ride to Kitson boutique yesterday -- they rolled up in a chauffeur-driven yellow school bus! They's edumacated!
While filming the upcoming season of "The Simple Life," the two road menaces showed up to the Robertson Blvd. shop in a bus from Camp Shawnee, driven by an uberhunky driver one would never see driving a school bus in any place other than West Hollywood. Both Paris and Nicole took time to sign autographs for a large group of fans waiting for them between takes.
TMZ also spotted a laid back will.i.am, a happy Bobby Brown outside Mood, Nicky Hilton sneaking in the back of Hyde. All the while "American Pie" hottie Shannon Elizabeth was spotted getting into her car on Robertson Blvd.

"American Pie" seductress Shannon Elizabeth isn't just playing poker because it's the new cool thing or because the cards are pretty. She's playing to win!
Elizabeth has been in Las Vegas for the past few weeks at the World Series of Poker. She says she first got into poker to help promote her charity. "Animal Avengers is my charity," she says. "I kept getting asked back to different things to raise money, and we always need money. So that's how I originally learned and I just got hooked."
She's playing nearly every day during the World Series, which she says is the best way to get better. "That's the only way to get better," she explains. "You just have to keep playing, seeing card combinations, so you know what to do in that situation. I can read as many books as I want, but you need table time."

It was a random night on Wednesday in Hollywood as our cameras were rolling at Hyde, a hotspot packed with young celebrities. A boxer, a rocker, two boy banders and a former reality TV star all showed up to the trendy joint to do a little unwinding.
Former heavyweight champion of the world Mike Tyson was on hand with his usual large entourage, showing up in a large black limo and not paying much attention to autograph seekers. At one point in the night Mike came out for some fresh air and it seems like The Champ had a case of the sneezes.
Former NSYNCers Lance Bass and Joey Fatone were also on hand as they stopped to pose for the cameras and sign a few autographs.
Also on hand GNRs Slash, Eliza Dushku, Reichen Lehmkuhl and the always beautiful Shannon Elizabeth.
