Flash Dancer -- Take Two

TMZ found another shot of that potentially panty-less pirouette-er from "So You Think You Can Dance" -- and now we agree with Nigel ... that there was just "a crease" in her flesh-colored unmentionables.

So You Think You Can Dance
Glad we got to the bottom of that.

A Crease in Her Panties?

Nigel Lythgoe just phoned us and said the FOX Standards and Practices Department says -- of the photo of the "So You Think You Can Dance" contestant -- "It is a crease in the young lady's panties."

We've looked ... carefully ... and we don't see any panties. But we're not infallible. We're not going to unblur the photo, so if you really want to judge for yourself go to our friends at Dlisted.com. And then come back and vote.

Advice for Contestant #22036 on "So You Think You Can Dance" -- You're supposed to do the cha cha, not show it.

So You Think You Can Dance

FOX censors apparently didn't have their eye on the ball, so to speak. The ground roll aired, in all its glory.

Judge and Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe tells TMZ: "None of us knew she did this. The show was always designed to expose talent, but not in this way."

'So You Think...' Star Charged with Rape

alex da silvaA former choreographer for "So You Think You Can Dance" was arrested again for allegedly sexually assaulting four women -- but this time he's actually being charged with a crime ... or eight, to be exact.

Cops say Alex Da Silva was arrested this morning at his North Hollywood home, after the District Attorney filed an arrest warrant charging him with eight felony counts of assault.

That includes four counts of forcible rape, two counts of assault with intent to commit rape and two counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object.

The D.A. says the alleged assaults occurred between August 2002 and March 2009. The four alleged victims were between the ages of 20 and 26 and were all dancers or aspiring dancers who say they met Alex through his dance instruction classes.

Alex was arrested for pretty much the same thing back in April, but prosecutors declined to press charges -- saying further investigation was needed to move forward.

Alex is being held on $6.2 million bail.

So You Think You Can Get In

Someone at Crown Bar is gonna get fired -- because last night they dissed one of the most powerful men in H-Wood.

Nigel Lythgoe, the guy who produces "American Idol" and judges on "So You Think You Can Dance," was out enjoying his birthday, planning on a festive night at Crown. His boy Ryan Seacrest even arranged a table for him. Unfortunately the Josh-Hartnett-look-alike doorman apparently didn't get the memo, and Nigel was denied. The nerve!

And in the insult-to-injury department, Alli Sims made it through.

You Stole My Show

The latest group of producers are crying and suing, claiming someone stole their show idea -- in this case, "So You Think You Can Dance."  Well,  they need to butch it up.

Hollywood is filled with bitter people who feel ripped off.  I don't think there's been a single show on the air during the last ten years in which someone claimed they'd been had.

The fact is, TV is kinda like music -- there aren't all that many melodies, so a lot is derivations on a common theme.   This business operates on pitch meetings.  Day after day, studio execs meet with producers who claim they have the next big thing.  The meetings start to blur, ideas collapse on top of each other, something gets on the air and feelings are hurt.

Stu Billett, the man who created reality television by producing "The People's Court" 25 years ago, once told me that the suits at studios do pilfer ideas and that it's really part of their job.  As he put it, referring to the execs:  "They're like scorpions.  They don't mean to kill.  It's just their nature."

The fact is, anyone relying on an oral promise -- as was allegedly the case with "So You Think You Can Dance" -- is dreaming; it's not worth the paper it's written on.   Stu once said something funny:  "If someone stole my show, I wouldn't sue.  I'd look like a schmuck because I didn't protect myself."

As for the "So You Think You Can Dance" lawsuit, the plaintiffs list similarities between their show and the one on FOX, including:  a 60 minute television show, the Concept recruits contestants from various cities, professional dancers instruct contestants, a panel of professional judges evaluate performances, the competition is an elimination style, yada yada yada.  Sounds like ten other shows.

As they say on "Idol," "Welcome to Hollywood."

Exclusive: So You Think You Can Sue?

TMZ has obtained a lawsuit claiming that Fox Broadcasting and Dick Clark Productions ripped off the TV show, "So You Think You Can Dance."The plaintiffs, John Cassese, Mark Wolfe, Maria Lamagra and Brian Nelson, claim in May, 2003 they registered "So You Think You Can Dance'" with the Writers Guild of America.  The plaintiffs alleged in July, 2003, they met with reps from Martin Erlichman Associates, Inc. to discuss pitching the show.

According to the lawsuit, filed today in Los Angeles Superior Court, the plaintiffs struck an oral agreement with Erlichman Associates to pitch the show.  They say the deal was -- they would be paid to write, direct and produce it.

The plaintiffs say Erlichman Associates contacted the Creative Artists Agency to help pitch the show and CAA "did not say no" to the idea.

The suit claims by September, 2005, the Erlichman company froze the plaintiffs out and refused to return their calls.

In July, 2005, "So You Think You Can Dance" debuted on FOX.

The suit claims the format of the show is uncannily similar to the plaintiffs' treatment, including "contestant dancers (who) are challenged by various means including pairing the contestants with complete strangers" and "a panel of judges."

19 Entertainment, Inc., which also produces "American Idol," is also named as a defendant.

The suit seeks unspecified damages.

TMZ placed calls to FOX and Erlichman Associates.  A FOX rep tells TMZ he is unaware of any lawsuit and even if he did, FOX has a policy of not commenting on pending litigation.  Calls to Erlichman were not immediately returned.

'Dancing' Knockoffs Come a Knockin'

As if celebrity reality TV shows weren't completely out of hand already, TMZ has uncovered some crazy new shows in the pipeline.

If you're tired of watching celebrities learn how to dance and skate, then maybe NBC's rumored new offering, 'Fencing With Famous People,' will get you excited. Stars could soon be engaging in one-on-one sword fighting covered completely from head to toe in unattractive white protective gear.

It's amusing that a network would want to produce a show and fill it with celebrity faces, and then cover them up with ugly bug-looking facemasks. But if the show could potentially pull NBC out of their current fourth place standing, then by all means, they should go for it.
