This may be the first time "South Park" and "tasteful" have ever been used in the same sentence -- but Billy Mays' son thinks the show did a "tasteful" job spoofing his departed dad on this week's episode.
Earlier today, Billy Mays III called into the MJ Morning Show raving about how proud he was to have his dad appear as a cartoon ghost ... who threatened to beat up the ghost of Patrick Swayze.
For the record -- it was pretty damn funny.
Considering the pitchman's death was about three months ago, Mays was shockingly positive -- and said "things are looking up."

For all of you waiting for Seth MacFarlane to retaliate at "South Park" for its two episode diss-fest of "Family Guy" -- it's not gonna happen.

Seth told us he had no plans to fight back at Cartman and crew for knocking his show, because it would be "way too much work."
But he did make one correction to the "South" episodes: "Family" is written by sperm whales, not manatees.
Click here... it's not over yet

It's hard to believe that it has been 10 years since "South Park" burst on the scene with their underground "Spirit of Christmas" video. Last night, Comedy Central celebrated the decade of comedy with a shindig in West Hollywood.
"I remember when we started the show, we had an order for six episodes, and we're like, 'This is great because when we're older we'll always have these six shows. You know, we'll always have these six episodes to show to our kids and stuff," Parker said. "And, it was actually Brian Graden who told us, 'I think someday these will be six of 100.' And we're like, 'You're crazy. There's no way.' And we're up to 150-something."
Parker also said he thinks the show always takes on its subjects from a very positive point of view: "We're not laughing at people, we're laughing with joy, and that what we want. We want 'South Park' to be that show that [says], 'Can't we all relax and isn't this all kind of funny, and aren't we having fun?'"
"South Park" returns with all new episodes on October 4.

Thursday's Emmy nominations issued Tom Cruise a big slap in the face and simultaneously re-ignited the Cruise vs. "South Park" grudge match.
"South Park'"s infamous "Trapped in the Closet" episode - which mocked Tom Cruise and Scientology - received praise from the Television Academy via a nod for Outstanding Animated Program.
Ironically, when the episode originally aired in November 2005 the credits listed each contributor's name as 'John Smith' or 'Jane Smith' - an evident reference to the possibility of being sued.
"Trapped in the Closet" eventually led Isaac Hayes - who is a Scientologist - to leave his role as the voice of Chef over what he called the show's "intolerance and bigotry towards religious beliefs." Further controversy ensued when Comedy Central planned to re-air the episode in March 2006 but replaced it at the last minute with another episode.
Rumors circulated that Tom Cruise was behind the cancellation. Cruise denied any involvement and Comedy Central insisted the episode was changed as a tribute to Hayes who had just announced his departure.
While you may have a better chance of spotting baby Suri than seeing Tom at the Emmys, all eyes will be on "South Park" creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker should the program win on August 27.

Isaac Hayes was being treated at a Memphis hospital Tuesday for exhaustion, his longtime songwriting partner said.
"He's just overworked and had been in Atlantic City performing, the D.C. area performing, and in Tunica (Miss.) a couple of nights ago. He was just overworked," David Porter told The Commercial Appeal newspaper.
"He's doing much better," Porter added.
It was not immediately known which hospital the soul singer had checked into. Calls to his agents were not returned.
Hayes, 63, is best known for his 1971 No. 1 hit "Theme From Shaft," from the Richard Roundtree film. The soundtrack won the Oscar for best musical score.
More recently, he was the voice of the character Chef on the TV show "South Park."
During his time as a backup artist at Stax Records in Memphis, he established a songwriting partnership with Porter, and in the 1960s they wrote such hits for Sam and Dave as "Hold On, I'm Coming" and "Soul Man."
