The mere sight of Mark Wahlberg was enough to set off the waterworks for a teenage girl in NYC yesterday, Mark repeatedly telling the girl, "Don't cry" -- as he drove past her in his SUV.

Punk pixie Avril Lavigne faced a slew of paparazzi outside of Opera last night. When our camera guy asked Avril how she was doing, she simply replied with a high-pitched, girly shriek. Point taken.
Ron Jeremy was also at Opera last night -- and he was more than excited to see our camera. "Which one's TMZ?" Ron asked. "You guys are lightning." Guess that makes him the thunder.
Also out on the town: Nicollette Sheridan at Koi with Michael Bolton, Meagan Good signing autographs for fans and Kim Kardashian after a facial.

Some people dress up for a night on the town in Hollywood. Vince Vaughn is not one of them.
Sporting a pair of jeans and a Chicago Bears jacket, Vaughn left Parc on Saturday night and pushed his way through a gaggle of paparazzi. But for a change, Vince looked like he'd at least shaved in the last week.
Sunday night we got a glimpse of Paris Hilton with new beau Josh Henderson. The boobalicious Ms. Hilton signed an autograph before jetting off in Josh's SUV.
Also out and about this weekend: Dave Navarro, Michelle Trachtenberg, Taryn Manning, and Justin Long ... who had nothing funny to say. Bummer.

Ashlee Simpson and raccoon-eyed Pete Wentz have been spotted together three times this week -- but last night Ash went out solo.
The couple were seen in Las Vegas and L.A. this week, but Ashlee arrived alone to the opening of Runway Nightclub in New York, having dropped Petey somewhere else earlier in the evening. Taye Diggs also went to the club's opening -- arriving with a hot, non-Idina Menzel blonde.
Meanwhile, "to the left" coast, TMZ spotted Michelle Rodriguez, a lounging Joey Fatone, Alfonso Ribeiro, Borat's buddy Ken Davitian and a chatty-tatty Dennis Rodman.

It was a flashback to the early '90s last night as Mark Curry aka "Mr. Cooper", and Salt-N-Pepa's Spinderella made rare appearances at Area.
The two attended Complex magazine's 5th anniversary party, which played host to all the usual nightcrawlers. A confused Paris Hilton showed up with boytoy Josh Henderson, while Paul Wall showed off his grillz to photogs.
Hilton's former BFF Kim Kardashian was there too, proving she doesn't need the heiress to get recognition -- Kimmy had to fight off autograph seekers. That sex tape apparently won a lot of fans!
Cee-Lo, Andrew Dice Clay, DJ AM, and a sleazy looking JR Rotem -- Britney's producer and alleged one night stand -- added to the random crowd.

Paris Hilton is done tempting fate ... now she's just tempting the opposite sex.
Now that the entire planet knows that her license was suspended, the heiress ponied up for a new driver ... and a new bra to give her a lift. Paris hit Area nightclub in Hollywood, where she partied with the likes of Colombian cutie Sofia Vergara, and elephantine oil heir Jason "Gummi Bear" Davis.
Earlier in the night, TMZ caught Lindsay Lohan leaving a late beauty session at Byron Salon in Beverly Hills, perhaps adjusting her newly blonded curls.
In the Big Apple, we spotted Sienna Miller, Mena Suvari and Kevin Zegers, who all came out for the launch of Calvin Klein's new fragrance, CK IN2U.

Hyde is officially expanding it's reach- and catering to Hollywood's AARP set by rolling out the red carpet for Warren Beatty!
The hot club, known for being the site of numerous trainwreck turnaways, including Tara Reid, Chyna and even Bobby Brown, gave Oscar winner Warren Beatty the full celeb treatment by letting him exit through the ultra-exclusive back door. Sure, Beatty is Hollywood royalty, but he doesn't quite register with the Paris Hilton/Ashlee Simpson crowd.
Also out last night in balmy L.A.; "CSI" hottie Gary Dourdan, who playfully "attacked" our cameraman, "Sin City" vixen Jaime King, who refused to sign naked pictures of herself, and the Iceman himself, Shawn Ashmore.
3,000 miles away in NYC, TMZ cameras caught a calm Sean "Diddy" Combs and Jamie Foxx, who was all bundled up for the winter evening, and Queen Latifah, who was leaving a screening of her new HBO flick, "Life Support."

TMZ's camera was inside the Coca-Cola launch party for a new Cherry Coke can designed by Jay-Z and Rocawear, and lots of stars in NYC for fashion week were there to celebrate.

TMZ hits up both coasts in this edition of Star Catcher, beginning in L.A., where we ran into a favorite father Focker. We spotted a sleepy Dustin Hoffman on the way to a screening. When asked about his upcoming projects, he replied, "Yeah, going to bed." Goodnight, Tootsie.
Also spotted in L.A. town, former Mr.Spears Kevin Federline, grumpy "Girl Next Door" Elisha Cuthbert, "CSI" veteran Gary Dourdan, and the legendary Stevie Wonder.
On the East Coast, things are poppin' during fashion week; we spotted former *NSYNCer J.C. Chasez, Amber Tamblyn, Kimora Lee Simmons, Nick Cannon, a much tamer Cuba Gooding Jr., Kim Stewart and the girls of Danity Kane.

It was an MTV-star-studded evening at Area last night for the launch party of "The Hills." Lauren "LC" Conrad and her onscreen gals showed up ready to mingle, and get the second season off and kickin'.
Music producer "J.R." Rotem (recently dropped by Britney) had mad love for TMZ calling the site the "classiest" of them all. Could be because we're the only ones who care!
Brody Jenner and Kim Kardashian flashed their pearly whites, followed by Brandon "Greasy Bear" Davis and all his oily glory. While NBA star Dennis Rodman seemed a bit overwhelmed by the lights/camera action, Jesse McCartney and Jack Osbourne were unfazed by the attention.

There are some things you just can't take your eyes off of, no matter how much you might want to.
TMZ cameras caught the hulk of a man claiming to be Carrot Top as he strutted down Robertson Blvd. yesterday, and the burly redhead gave us the closest closeup we've ever gotten -- revealing that he was wearing more makeup for a shopping excursion than Paris Hilton does.
Also out for a West Hollywood stroll was "Coach Carter" star Robert Ri'chard.
Later that night at Hyde, we caught Lindsay Lohan making her signature backdoor entrance, Brody Jenner harassing "Girls Gone Wild" mogul Joe Francis, who was attempting to get frisky with a lady friend, and Tommy "Tiny" Lister aka Deebo, who was actually in the process of shooting a TV show. He was playing a bouncer. Big surprise.

Britney Spears' first post-Feder fling is on the prowl again.
Arizona clubgoers recently saw Spears getting hot and heavy with football stud Matt Leinart. Now, TMZ cameras have spotted record producer "J.R." Rotem, linked with Britney a few weeks ago, leaving a party at Paris Hilton's Hollywood Hills home with sultry R & B singer Mýa this weekend. Rotem made sure to open the car door for her. Such a gentleman!
Also at Paris' place: Cuba Gooding, Jr., sister Nicky Hilton, buddy Brandon "Firecough" Davis, Chris Judd and Kim Kardashian, who just loves the beaches in Australia this time of year.
Teddy's at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel saw the likes of Travis Barker, Tom Green and Taryn Manning, while Rachel Hunter, Carlos Mencia and Dane Cook had lots of laughs for TMZ cameras outside of Hyde.

Hollywood valets had it rough last night.
After a broke Jessica Simpson stiffed a parking attendant, reality star Jack Osbourne accused car parkers of ripping him off! Jack let us in on one of his New Year's resolutions: He's not going to talk to us anymore! He laughed that off. Then he thought the valets were trying to charge him double. Jack, sounds like instant karma to us.
Rocker P!nk and hubby Carey Hart got a holiday present from Sandra Bullock and Jesse James, who ran interference on the paparazzi so they could quietly sneak out of Mr. Chow in Hollywood.
A modest John Cho of "Harold and Kumar" also hit the town last night along with Andy Dick and Alfonso Ribiero, "90210" hottie Ian Ziering. And last, but certainly not least, the legendary Kirk Douglas, 90, at Mr Chow.

Justin Timberlake is the man!
After he rocked "Saturday Night Live," JT and his lovely lady, Cameron Diaz, celebrated downtown from 30 Rock at Barca 18 with the rest of the cast and crew.
Timberlake made quite an impression on his SNL pals, including Jimmy Fallon, who couldn't stop gushing about Justin on his way into the after-party.
The celebration, which didn't shut down 'til 5 AM, also saw the likes of uber-producer Lorne Michaels, Seth Meyers, Amy Poehler, Kenan Thompson and Andy Samberg.

Lindsay Lohan may have given up drinking, but she's still having herself a good ol' time.
She hit up Area last night with Paris Hilton, and Teddy's a little later with Greasy Bear Brandon Davis. Making amends with old enemies? Seems like she's taking those twelve steps seriously!
"Studio 60's" Matthew Perry also strolled up to Area, followed by Nick Cannon -- who yelled out "What up!" to the cameras. Close behind were Kim Stewart and Bai Ling, who was nice enough to blow us some kisses. Rick Fox showed up in a hoodie, along with Jason Wahler and (new BFF?) Andy Milonakis ... Now that's surely a match made in heaven.
