The airline employee who made Joel Madden cover his tats before boarding a British Airways flight on Sunday in London is in deep trouble -- because B.A. is calling BS on him.
A rep for British Airways just straight up told us the employee is being reprimanded -- adding "we don't understand why the employee took it upon himself to enforce regulations that don't exist."
No word on the ink-hater's punishment -- but a date with Kat Von D sounds about right.

During her unbeweaveable blondered days, Brit often flashed -- among other things -- her Hebrew neck tattoo. Last week, the brunetted poster child for conservatorships was spotted shopping sans any bad ink on her neck.
For now at least, it appears tattoo removal shops are the new gas stations!

How many tattoos does Nicole Richie have?
Nicole Richie sports nine (at least) tattoos on her body, Stephanie. The favorite seems to be this rosary she had tattooed around her ankle. She also has a spider-shaped one on her lower stomach, as well as a pair of ballerina slippers she got in honor of the song her father, Lionel Richie, wrote for her. (For you young'ins, that song was "Ballerina Girl.")

TMZ was invited to the Hollywood set of The Goo Goo Dolls' new music video "Let Love In." Lead singer Johnny Rzeznik displayed his colorful skin art and its significance, even going so far as pulling up his shirt to give us a glimpse of his ink.
The video, which will appear in a few weeks on VH1, incorporates actors wearing all white and the band members performing in front of a green screen. The end product combines images of desert and water landscapes.
The Goo Goo Dolls are currently on tour with the Counting Crows hitting up the West Coast before heading east. Their next stop is Friday in Irvine, Calif.
"Let Love In" is in stores now and is available for download on iTunes.
