Tom Hanks is now officially the proud owner of a $75,000 Beatles poster, because his wife has dropped her lawsuit claiming the art was bogus.
Rita Wilson sued Melissa Pearl, claiming the poster from 1962 -- which she bought for Hanks -- never came with the proper authentication.
But Pearl anted up a doc from Sotheby's and Rita now seems satisfied. So the case is history. Long live the Beatles.
A $75,000 poster??? That's Forrest Gump money.

Ringo Starr got a painful reminder of that outside Radio City Musical Hall on Friday night. It was near silence for Ringo's exit, and just a few minutes later -- Beatlemania-revisited for Paul McCartney's.
The two living Beatles were rehearsing for tonight's benefit concert where, guess who, is the headliner.

He's only a member of the biggest band like, ever, so how the hell can Paul McCartney walk around Paris and not have a single soul look his way -- let alone approach him for an autograph?

The Vatican has finally gotten over that little thing John Lennon said back in 1966 -- that The Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ.
The Vatican newspaper, according to MSNBC, now says the remark "sounds only like a 'boast' by a young working-class Englishman faced with unexpected success, after growing up in the legend of Elvis and rock and roll."
The story in Vatican Daily Osservatore Romano went on to praise The Beatles on the 40th anniversary of The White Album -- apparently they're fine with the Charles Manson theme song "Helter Skelter," "Revolution," and "Why Don't We Do it in the Road."
Ob-la-di, ob-la-da.

They may not know who they are, but the ever original Jonas Brothers now have something in common with the Beatles other than maniacal screaming teen fans.
The Brothers Jonai unknowingly paid homage to the Fab Four's classic "Abbey Road" album cover by crossing a Virginia Beach street in single file.
And that's where the comparisons end.

The pre-teen hysteria caused by the Jonas Brothers has been compared to Beatlemania -- so we challenged the boys, who weren't even fetuses when the Fab Four were huge, to name just one -- ONE -- of the Beatles.
It didn't go well ... but we're just surprised our photog knew all three Jonases by first name.

Paul McCartney got an honorary Doctorate of Music from Yale University this afternoon, pissing off Heather Mills who is now missing out on that "doctor" money.
Yale has produced some of the great music legends, like Elvis, Sinatra, Prince, the other three Beatles, and Smokey Robinson. Actually, none of them went there, but Ezra Sims (composer, microtonal music) is an alum. Exactly.

At the movies this weekend, it's all about 300 Spartans preparing for glory, but for the Z List, it's all about five celebrities who should be sorry.
Ann Coulter: The blonde bombshell of right wing punditry was officially inducted into the exclusive boys club of Michael Richards, Mel Gibson and Isaiah Washington, as major fallout continued to build in the wake of her derogatory description of Democratic Presidential candidate John Edwards. A number of newspapers have dropped her column, she's lost a bunch of website sponsors, and all of a sudden, perhaps for the first time, even her fans are looking past the long legs and long locks. Hasn't Coulter learned anything from Hollywood's terrible trio? You don't deem it a "schoolyard taunt;" you apologize, as quickly and as contritely as you can.
