The cast of "The Simpsons" gets $400,000 an episode -- and when you hear how many days a week they have to work for the bread ... you'll have a cow.

Yeardley Smith -- who does Lisa's voice -- filled us in, and did the yellow one's famous laugh.

His ability to tell which seasons are coming up is unparalleled -- but our photog at JFK was too distracted by CBS "Early Show" weatherman Dave Price's many similarities to Milhouse Van Houten to care.

Neither has a shot with Lisa Simpson.

Nelson Muntz from "The Simpsons" is used to being in trouble, but now he's under fire over a "super gay" comment he made on Sunday's Halloween episode ... ha HUH?

The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), the people who teamed up with Hilary Duff to fight the offensive use of the phrase "that's so gay," is now going after Nelson for his homophobic comment on the show.
In a statement to TMZ, GLSEN says: "Nelson's use of 'that's so gay' in a negative way is not surprising considering that 90 percent of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth say they hear the term used this way frequently or often at school. Nelson should visit ThinkB4YouSpeak.com where he can send an apologetic e-card to Milhouse. GLSEN would also welcome Nelson's participation in our next PSA so he can make amends by helping to educate young people about why such language is wrong."
A rep for the show was not immediately available for comment. Nelson's people couldn't be reached for comment either ... since he's a cartoon.

Chavez Venezuela has yanked "The Simpsons" off the air, claiming it may be inappropriate for children. Aye carumba!
Replacing the Simpson family - "Baywatch Hawaii" - a wholesome show where half naked bodyguards strut their enhanced ta-tas on the beach.
The decision was made to get rid of "The Simpsons" after several viewers complained to Venezuela's National Telecommunications Commission. Elba Guillen, a spokeswoman for Televen TV in Caracas, said showing the animated cartoon series at 11 a.m. could violate national
regulations prohibiting "messages that go against the whole education of boys, girls and adolescents." We're guessing Venezuela doesn't get irony.

The lesson is -- Homer and a big pink doughnut will carry the day every time. Cowabunga!
Springfield, Vermont will roll out the yellow carpet for the world premiere of "The Simpsons" later this month, beating out 13 other Springfields around the U.S. for the honor -- even though, as a rep for the city admitted to USA Today, it wasn't even invited to be part of the competition, initially. (There are actually 34 Springfields in the U.S.) The Vermont video entry included a real-life "Homer" running through the streets of the town, population 9,500.
Thirteen other Springfields competed, and the one from Illinois -- which actually has a power plant with a guy who runs it that looks a lot like Montgomery Burns -- was so confident it would win that its mayor, Tim Davlin, taunted the others to "eat my shorts" on national TV Monday night. D'oh!
The movie itself opens July 27 nationwide.

In his latest jaunt into corporate tyranny, C. Montgomery Burns (owner of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant) has hijacked the blog of the CEO of Jet Blue and vows to "crush him like an ant." Gotta love a good corporate tie-in.

Burns -- who is writing on David Neeleman's "interwebular chronicle" -- feels that the head of Jet Blue runs his airline with "congenial customer service and overly indulgent amenities" -- certainly not the Monty Burns way. Rather, Burns says he believes that "customers have the right to keep quiet as I pluck every penny from their upturned pockets." D'oh!
But the Simpsons didn't stop with the CEO blog -- Homer and Co. have taken over the whole site! Jet Blue is the official airline of Springfield (which Springfield? Who knows!) and you can even get travel tips from Chief Wiggum.
What ever happened to collectible glasses?

Homer, Bart and the rest of the Simpsons clan are making it a very yellow summer.
FOX and Microsoft are teaming up to promote "The Simpsons Movie" by offering fans the chance to win one of 100 limited-edition "Simpsons" Xbox 360 Pro consoles. The consoles can be had through a series of special events and promotions.
If you're not lucky enough to win the "Simpsons" console (doh!), don't fret. EA Games announced an upcoming "Simpsons" video game available on all the major consoles and handhelds. The game will follow the Simpsons' adventures when they realize that they have been licensed as a video game. So it's a video game about a video game with parodies of current and past video games. Mmmmm, slightly confusing video game plot.
It's turning out to be, in Comic Book Guy's own words, "The best summer, ever."

Few movies have inspired moviegoers (and makers) as much as the original "Planet of the Apes." The movie has become a pop culture staple, in less than stellar sequels, a short-lived television series, a cartoon -- even the hilarious "Planet of the Apes Musical" sequence from "The Simpsons"
Thanks to the monkeys on eBay, you can now bid on an orangutan costume used in the classic simian sci-fi flick. While it's not the actual costume worn by Dr. Zaius, no one will be the wiser if you show up at a costume party as the Chief Minister of Science.
When apes take their rightful place as masters of the planet, you can toss on the suit and get by.
