From the second he arrived at the Waverly Inn in NY, a smoldering James Gandolfini was lookin' to pick a fight -- and then, suddenly, he did.

What seems to be an unprovoked Tony Soprano exploded on several paparazzi -- slamming his car door, dropping cuss bombs and, with an angry scowl on his face, violently shoving one of the paps into the middle of the street.
When reminded how pap friendly the restaurant was and asked why he even came, Galdolfini simply said "I forgot" and took off.

The New York lottery might want to think about witness protection.
Vinny Vella - the guy who played Jimmy Petrille on "The Sopranos" -- wants to rub out the New York lotto for -- he claims -- shorting him out of a $5 million scratch-ticket payday. He says he had the right numbers on an "Extravaganza" lottery ticket -- two sevens -- but it turns out that the number was a 17.
The New York lottery tells us the vendor that prints the tickets had a "minor ink and printing problem" that affected about 5,000 tickets. They also say Vella's SOL -- they've got barcodes and other security precautions on the ticket that prove he's a loser.

We all know that a lot of "Sopranos" fans thought that the series ended on a terrible note -- but taking a hit out on creator David Chase's Wikipedia entry? Oh marone!

TMZ was checking out Chase's Wiki page this morning, and noticed that the first line read, "David Chase ... is a homosexual American television writer." Now we're all for the gays, but the sexual-orientation thing seemed odd, since Chase has been married to the same woman for over twenty years.
Well, it turns out that the entry was "vandalized" by some Wiki thugs, which then caused the Wikipedia folks to clamp down immediately, disallowing any changes to the page. Wikipedia didn't comment on the changes in Chase's entry, but it won't be available again for editing until next Monday.
Yesterday, in an interview with a New Jersey paper, Chase said that he wasn't trying to "[mess] with" fans, just trying to entertain them with the provocative ending, which concluded the series in nearly ten seconds of black screen.

If you're looking for another way to make tonight's finale of "The Sopranos" even more suspenseful than it probably will be, perhaps putting a little action on it might help. It's what Tony would want you to do.

The folks over at graphpaper.com have created a handy "Sopranos" chart to help make your predictions. Think Christopher will appear in a hallucination? Think Paulie Walnuts commits suicide? Well gather up a few friends and put your money where your mouth is.
But be sure you pay up if you lose -- you don't want to be swimming with the fishes.

Jamie-Lynn Sigler was spotted in Sin City, getting curiously close to her small screen bro, Robert Iler.
"Sopranos" siblings Meadow and A.J. Soprano were hanging out at PURE nightclub in Caesars Palace late Saturday night, celebrating the final season of the HBO show. The two were seated next to each other in the club's VIP lounge, laughing while engaged in close conversation.
Sigler and Iler were later joined by K-Fed and Marlon & Damon Wayans -- talk about a random crew!

4) Jessica Has Just GOTTA KNOW: Is Johnny Depp married to Vanessa Paradis?
Although they have been an item for quite some time now, Johnny Depp and french singer/actress Vanessa Paradis are not married. For one, Depp feels as if he would ruin Vanessa's name by adding his on. "It would be such a drag to stick her with Paradis-Depp. It's like a flat note." "It's so perfect -- Vanessa Paradis." And secondly, both feel that it is not a piece of paper that defines their relationship and the feelings they share for one another. Together they have two children, Lily-Rose Melody Depp and Jack Depp, and split their time residing in Los Angeles and in the South of France. Click here for the Johnny Depp photo gallery.
5) Forest Has Just GOTTA KNOW: Is Louis Gross on The Sopranos next season?
Although the details have yet to be ironed out, Louis Gross' character as Tony Soprano's bodyguard Perry Annunziata is expected to return next season. When asked for comment, Gross' agent Kevin McShane confirmed saying they "presume yes, but they haven't started working on it." The male model turned mobster was arrested back in April of 2006 for allegedly breaking into a Queens home and was charged with criminal mischief. If convicted, he faces a maximum of one year in jail. His next court appearance is set for July 17, 2006. For more celebs who have had run-ins with the law, take a look at 'Stars Behind Bars.'

"The Sopranos" will definitely be taken out next year, the show's creator said, though he can't say it won't hit the big screen at some point.
"It may be that in two or three or four years I could be sitting around and get an idea for a really great 'Sopranos' movie," David Chase told The New York Times in a joint interview with James Gandolfini, star of the HBO series. "I don't think that will happen. But if one morning somebody woke up and said this would make a really good, concise, contained 'Sopranos' story, I wouldn't rule that out."
Chase, also the series' executive producer, and Gandolfini reflected on the show and the trajectory of its central character, mobster Tony Soprano, in an article appearing in Sunday's editions.
Gandolfini's character never crossed the line into killing family members, except to spare a cousin a worse death by enemies.
"I think there's a place Tony knows that if he goes to, he's not coming back, and that's the place," Gandolfini said. "If you start killing family members, what's next?"
The newest 12-episode season will begin March 12. The Emmy-winning show, which began airing in 1999, is to wrap up with eight episodes starting next January.

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS -- Richard Bright, a character actor who appeared in all three "Godfather" movies and more recently on "The Sopranos," was struck and killed by a bus, police said.
Bright, 68, was hit by a private Academy Bus as he crossed the street at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday in his Manhattan neighborhood, police Detective Bernard Gifford said.
There were no arrests as of Sunday but police said the investigation was continuing. The bus driver told police he was not aware that he had hit anyone.
Bright played mob enforcer Al Neri in the "Godfather" movies, a bodyguard to the Corleone family patriarchs played by Marlon Brando and Al Pacino.
He played a con artist hustling Ali McGraw in 1972's "The Getaway" and acted in dozens of other films such as Sergio Leone's "Once Upon a Time in America" and "Looking for Mr. Goodbar" and in TV shows such as "Hill Street Blues."
"He always said it was the work that was the reward," said Brett Smiley, a friend and fellow actor.
Bright was arrested in 1965 on an obscenity charge for language he used in a San Francisco production of poet Michael McClure's two-person play "The Beard," which was shut down.
The American Civil Liberties Union took up the case and the charges against Bright were later dismissed in what was considered a precedent for artistic expression rights.

Less than a month before their much-anticipated return to television, "The Sopranos" drew crowds Thursday while filming in the hometown of the cable show's fictional patriarch.
Trucks and trailers lined several streets as scenes for the final episode of the upcoming season were filmed inside a downtown building, prompting curious office workers to scurry outside.
Samantha Lombardo and her colleagues from a New Jersey energy company tried to catch glimpses of the stars. They didn't see any scenes being filmed, but they weren't disappointed.
Julianna Margulies, the former "ER" actress and a guest star this upcoming season, walked into a trailer on the street.
"It's very cool," said Lombardo, 25. "I'm such of the fan of the show. My boyfriend and I watch it all the time."
The series returns to HBO on March 12 after a hiatus of nearly two years. Twelve new episodes will start next month, and a final eight episodes will begin in January 2007.
