The cell phone abusing First Lady of California appeared on "Today" this morning -- where the whole crew wasted no time bustin' her chops over that whole talking-while-driving thing.
When asked about the handsfree debacle, Maria Shriver said "Of all the things I've done in my life, this has gotten the most attention."
Here we thought it was marrying Arnold Schwarzenegger.

According to Matt Lauer, Maria Shriver finally moved out of the dangerous and illegal cell phone Dark Ages -- and texted him from her new "hands-free" device. This after her husband, Guv Arnold Schwarzenegger, promised "swift action" after seeing our footage of Maria illegally yapping away while driving in L.A.
Of course, she needed to use her hands to text -- let's just hope she wasn't driving when she did it.

During a report yesterday morning at Forest Lawn Cemetery, "Today's" Michael Okwu listed the "Golden Girl" as one of the celebrities already buried there.
Meredith Vieira corrected him -- he probably meant Bette Davis.

Here it is -- Al Roker's hard nosed interview that dug at the heart of Heidi and Spencer. But did he go too far?
Roker unleashed a barrage of questions at the pair in an attempt to find out if they're really the "jerks" they come off to be on television.
Right after the interview, Roker and Speidi each went to different media outlets to bash the other. Heidi told Ryan Seacrest she felt "personally attacked." So the question now is ...

Apparently, Richie Sambora doesn't have such a big problem with drugs or alcohol that it couldn't be cured by a simple week of detox and therapy! The rocker and the rest of Bon Jovi were performing on "Today" this morning when Matt Lauer asked Richie about his recent Lohanesque trip to treatment, with Sambora revealing, "I did detox." No biggie!
The band rocked the "Today" stage and gave middle-aged women all over America something to brighten their morning. Richie's stay at rehab, er detox, was so brief that most of these fans probably hadn't even heard the news, or that he's busted up with Denise Richards.

The annual Halloween extravaganza on the "Today" show took a rather ghoulish turn on Tuesday morning, when Meredith Vieira's first big entrance as a "Today" co-host was conspicuously unseen. 
After Ann Curry and Natalie Morales sauntered somewhat awkwardly onto the stage as Cher and Madonna, respectively (the theme: divas), the big reveal -- Vieira coming out Bette Midler-style as a mermaid in a clamshell -- fell flat, and viewers were treated to the truly horrifying sight of a stagehand's denim-ed bottom, and several seconds of confused fans in Rockefeller Plaza. (The footage, oddly reminiscent of the scene from that Disney mermaid movie where Ariel doesn't appear, got cut out in the later feed to the West Coast. )
Matt Lauer started things off somewhat more convincingly as Capt. Jack Sparrow from "Pirates of the Caribbean," and Al Roker was nearly unrecognizable as a "Pirates" sidekick.

Nearly two years after a red carpet wardrobe malfunction earned her the nickname "Franken-nipple," Tara Reid stopped by the "Today" show to discuss the pain and agony of her plastic surgery nightmare. "It looked like I got completely butchered up," the actress told Natalie Morales. "The areolas ... they looked like goose-shaped eggs."
Reid also described the excruciating pain caused by her liposuction. "I got these bumps ... like little golf balls all over my stomach, and it hurt."
Tara went on to explain how she had a hard time finding work over the last two years, citing fears of revealing her tarnished body in a bikini. Now, after undergoing corrective surgery, Reid says she's both working and happy with her figure. While we're pleased for the actress, it might take more than a regained sense of confidence to get her into Hyde.

BAILEY, Colo. (AP) -- A teen lied on national television about trying to stay with six girls taken hostage in a high school classroom because he "wanted so much to help them," his mother said Thursday.
Duane Morrison, 53, took the girls hostage at Platte Canyon High School on Wednesday, sexually assaulted some of them and killed one before committing suicide, authorities said.
Cassidy Grigg, 16, had told NBC's "Today" show that he was in a classroom when the gunman tapped him on the shoulder and told him to leave. His father, Tom, gave a similar account of his son's story to The Associated Press.
The teen said on ABC's "Good Morning America" that he told the gunman he wanted to stay and that "he told me that if I didn't go then he would pretty much kill me."
Larina Grigg said her son told her he had made up the story." He said, 'Mom, all those kids were my friends and I just wanted so much to help them. ... I guess I just made it up in my mind. I just wanted it to be true so bad,"' Larina Grigg said. She did not say whether her son had witnessed anything at the school or had heard details elsewhere.
Larina Grigg said her son had never lied to his parents before and called it "a blow." "This is a 16-year-old young man, and I'm telling you, it's taken some real guts to do this. He wants to make this right. This is his call," she said.
"He wants to tell everybody he's sorry, he made a mistake," she said.

Stacy Ferguson (or as she's better known) Fergie is making her publicity rounds as she tries her hand at a solo career. Yesterday the Dutchess made a stop off at "The Late Show with David Letterman" wearing this...um... outfit.
Fergie has one of the best bodies in Hollywood, but we just can't say this little black dress and those awkward shoes show off how great her lovely lady lumps really are.
And for all you Black Eyed Peas fans out there, have no fear. The solo female of the group is still very much apart of the band, in fact Fergie sported the curler hawk late last week as she warmed up with the rest of the BEPs for a performance on the "Today" show stage.

Fergie made a appearance in public mid-glamourification to pump up her vocals during an early morning rehearsal.
The newly solo artist returned to her gig with the Black Eyed Peas for a performance on NBC's "Today" show at Rockefeller Center in New York on Friday morning.
Fergie Ferg's hair may be wacky, but we commend her always taking a risk-- whether it be her outrageous clothes or downright crazy dance moves. She just doesn't care what people think, and we love her for it.

You can't fault her for not giving it the old college try: Jessica Simpson, battling a throat injury and barely able to talk without a noticable croak, performed on the "Today" show this morning, almost in the exact same spot in Rockefeller Center that she was walking the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards last night.
The songstress wasn't exactly in full voice, but she gamely worked her way through two songs from her new album, "A Public Affair" on the chilly stage. She then told Matt Lauer that she did not in fact have laryngitis, but had suffered a burst blood vessel on her vocal cord. Jessica then revealed a homemade remedy given to her by her voice coach, of which Lauer took a sniff and identified, with mock shock, as "pure liquor."
Of course, it wasn't liquor at all -- just some form of cough syrup. But Jessica played along: "I'm gettin' a little buzz in the morning."

We all knew Matt Lauer had a passion for fitness ... but holy cow!!! Who knew Matt Lauer was hiding such a muscular physique underneath his suit?
Thursday afternoon, cameras caught the "Today" show hunk spending some quality time with his family on the beach in Southhampton, New York.
Lauer has been co-anchoring NBC's Today show since 1997, giving us plenty of time to get to know the guy. But rarely do we see our favorite news anchors trading in their on-camera garb for beach wear.
Looks like PEOPLE magazine was right when they choose Lauer as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the world back in 97.
Anchor or no anchor -- Matt we applaud you for the ripped six pack.
