There's a new celebrity war raging in Hollywood -- except this one doesn't involve famous people, just the magazines who report on them.
Us Weekly has launched a full-scale attack on their sworn enemy InTouch Weekly -- using a two page spread in their new issue to rip their glossy rivals for printing "bogus" and "phony" stories about Brangelina for the last 4 years.
Us printed 21 InTouch covers dating back to 2005 -- and then shredded the "fake" stories one by one, killing the mag for running headlines that screamed "Brad Gives Up," "Brad Moves Out" and "The Fight That Split Brad and Angelina."
InTouch fired back with a nice snarky statement of their own: "We're extremely flattered that our competition pays so much attention to InTouch that they were willing to devote a 2-page spread to us."
Game on.

So this is interesting. US Weekly is losing subscribers because of its Sarah Palin cover story: "Babies, Lies and Scandals."
There were reports that as many as 10,000 subscribers bailed, but US told Page Six the number was closer to 1,000. Apparently the mag -- and to be fair just about everyone else in the media -- misjudged Palin's impact once she opened her mouth.
We put some polls up yesterday. With 200,000 votes, 51% called Palin the biggest star of the convention. Obama came in second with 45%. McCain got 3% and Biden 1%.
We also asked who you'd most like to have a beer with -- 43% Palin, 28% Obama, 16% McCain and 13% Biden.
US Weekly next week -- "Biden: Old Men, Lies and Scandals."

Who'd have thunk it? The latest issue of Us Weekly, with a swimsuit-clad Ricki Lake on the cover, was the third most popular story on the mag's website ever -- behind only Britney Spears shaving her head and the death of Anna Nicole Smith. Nice company to be in, Ricki!
"I f--king love the cover! It's amazing!" she told Usmagazine.com. "So many people from my past have come forward telling me how great I looked, and it has been an overwhelming response. I am thrilled with everything and love the way I look on the cover and in the magazine."
Just goes to show you: America loves a good weight loss story ... but just slightly less than a nervous breakdown and an accidental overdose.

On this weekend's edition of "60 Minutes," Simon Cowell tells Anderson Cooper that he regrets saying no to a Hollywood couple who wanted to pay him $100,000 for a private critique of their bedroom lovemaking.
If only the following folks had also been blessed with the wisdom to remain behind closed doors this week.

Everyone's interested in what Britney's been up to -- including Miss Spears herself.
The partying pop star mom popped into a convenience store last night and checked out the latest gossip on her life by skimming through the current issue of Us Weekly, which features her and new boytoy Isaac Cohen on the cover.
After figuring out where she'd been for the past week, America's favorite trainwreck then grabbed a Red Bull, and spent the evening with friends, cruising the streets of L.A. in her convertible Mercedes.

With the line between beauty pageants and Girls Gone Wild now completely blurred, maybe NBC should have Joe Francis host the next Miss USA telecast. In advance of that tantalizing prospect, here are the finalists for the sparkling TMZ tiara.
Donald Trump: Apparently, last winter's squabble with Martha Stewart was only a warm-up. In what can only be interpreted as a delirious desire to prevent anything from soiling the January 7 debut of Season 6 of "The Apprentice," The Donald relocated this week to the Trump Glower, and hurled down an unbelievable stream of invective at the rosiest rabble-rouser of "The View." O'Donnell, meanwhile, has cut and pasted some rather unflattering Wikipedia info about Trump into her blog, adding that she will let readers know "if kelli leaves me for one of his pals." This is David Gest vs. Liza Minnelli on Viagra and estrogen, an East Coast battle that suddenly renders the premiere of tonight's new E! special "30 Most Outrageous Celebrity Feuds" moot.

Jessica Simpson can't seem to escape the headlines these days, no matter where she goes. Wednesday, Simpson came face to face with herself at her local Ralph's grocery store. She was greeted by an issue US Weekly magazine featuring a huge picture of the singer on the cover and the word "Dumped!" slapped across the front.
The paparazzi magnate found time to stop and flip through another magazine on the rack before buying over five dozen roses, diet Dr. Pepper, Splenda and Rye Krisps.
Even though the sexy blonde is constantly being hounded by ever-present photographers, she didn't hold a grudge after Tuesday's booing session. In fact, she even stopped, smiled and posed for the cameras as she left the store.

TMZ has learned that the FBI searched the home Tuesday of a woman who runs an LA paparazzi agency.
The allegation is that her computers were used to illegally hack into the computers of Us Weekly magazine to obtain information about celebrities, in particular Charlie Sheen.
Sources tell TMZ the U.S. Attorney obtained the search warrant several days ago. Law enforcement went to the home of Jill Ishkanian, a partner at Sunset Photo and News, where they seized computers and other items. As of now, the official file is sealed.

Jessica Alba's near nip-slip (sorry fellas) was the highlight of the red carpet last night at the Us Weekly Hot Hollywood Awards. Alba took home the Style Icon of the Year Award.
Jeremy Piven, Paris Hilton and Carmen Electra were among the other stars on hand.

TMZ has obtained a $20 million lawsuit filed by Britney Spears against Us Weekly magazine over an article that asserted Spears and her husband Kevin Federline shot a sex tape of themselves.
The article, "Brit & Kev: Secret Sex Tape? New parents have a new worry: racy footage from 2004," claimed that Spears and Federline showed it to their lawyer and expressed fear that "...a member of their entourage has threatened to release raunchy footage of the two..."
The suit, filed today in Los Angeles Superior Court, claims that the article, which ran in the October 17, 2005 issue, is an "outrageous fabrication." In legal papers, Spears' lawyer, famed attorney Marty Singer, claims there was never a sex tape and that Us Weekly was "maliciously standing by the bogus story."
The suit seeks $10 million in damages, an award of the gross revenues received by Us Weekly for the alleged "unauthorized use of Spear's name, photograph and likeness" and other damages.
Singer told TMZ.com, "Britney has finally decided to take a stand to put a stop to people fabricating these malicious lies about her."
