Oy Gevalt! A girl was supposed to become a woman, but thanks to a Universal Studios fire, her daddy has become a plaintiff instead.

Vered Nisim claims he spent over $150,000 for his daughter's Bat Mitzvah party at the Universal Studios Hollywood Theme Park back on June 1, 2008 -- the same day the MTV Music Awards were also being filmed at the venue.
Nisim claims in his lawsuit Universal circumcised his shindig by cutting off two of the three party areas because of the blaze at the studio. But Nisim has powerful evidence the Jews were treated unfairly, because Universal let the MTV Music Awards show go on without interruption.
Here's the saddest thing ... the suit claims, "The fairy tale fantasyland for Danielle which Plaintiffs had been planning for over eight months and had spent well over $150,000 was brutally truncated..."
The family is suing for unspecified damages. One thing is clear -- it's not a small claims court world after all.

How ironic: The "84-foot death defying raft plunge" at Universal Studios was built without a proper plunger -- allegedly -- because a woman says she slipped and fell on overflowing toilet water adjacent to the ride.
In a lawsuit filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Karen Roberts claims NBC Universal was negligent by not maintaining a proper flusher near the entrance to the Jurassic Park ride.
She wants more than $25,000.

Miley Cyrus loves biting the hand that feeds her.
We caught up with Cyrus chillin' at NBC-owned Universal Studios yesterday, jumping on the FOX-owned "The Simpsons Ride." Doh! Guess we know who the real rat is at Disney!

King Kong has met his match once again -- this time it's fire at Universal Studios.
Fire officials confirmed that the King Kong building in the back lot of Universal has been completely destroyed! Also perishing in the fire: New York Street and Hill Valley (the town from "Back to the Future" and current set for "The Ghost Whisperer").
A video vault containing 40,000 - 50,000 videos and reels were also destroyed -- but officials say there are copies elsewhere.

Universal Studios has taken one giant leap back from backing the remake of "Barbarella." The movie, which was set to be directed by "Sin City" boss Robert Rodriguez, was also set to star his new fiancee, Rose McGowan.

A source tells the NY Observer's Transom the studio was unhappy about the casting choice, and when Robert refused to find someone else, the studio's only option was to drop the deal altogether. A Rose by any other name -- will not do!
Rodriguez has denied these claims and said that the reason for the parting of ways was all about budget, saying that the original backing offered by Universal was $60 million, but by shooting time, costs had ballooned to $72 million.
TMZ contacted reps for McGowan and Rodriguez, but have yet to receive comment.

Are the folks on the Universal back lot telling the truth to theme park guests?
A few TMZ staffers took a ride yesterday on the Universal Studios Hollywood Tour where they passed an enormous Aztec temple set that tour guides said was being built for the upcoming flick "National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets," but could it really be for the Indiana Jones sequel?

We called Jerry Bruckheimer Films, the production company for "National Treasure," and it turns out the Nic Cage pic is wrapping production next week outside of L.A., so clearly Universal needs to update their tour guides.
Our staffers thought the giant Aztec set could have something to do with the long awaited Indiana Jones sequel, and questioned the tour guides, who had no clue. Later, we contacted Universal Studios Production, which denied any link to Indiana Jones, saying, "We do not reveal the details of our shooting locations." Details about "Indy 4" have been under wraps for a while, but filming reportedly began this week.
As for the folks at Universal ... "Snakes, why did they have to be snakes?"

One lucky SOB is going to spend a day with Miss USA Tara Conner, and 51 of her hottest friends. Too bad she's cleaned up her act.
Up for grabs is a luncheon with the rehabbed beauty queen and 51 Miss USA 2007 contestants. The prize is being offered as a Universal Studios Hollywood promotion. It's a safe bet that booze will probably not be served. We all know what happens to Tara when she drinks...
To enter the contest, go to www.universalstudioshollywood.com, but you better hurry, the contest ends March 8.
