Most Famous Photog Ever -- Imagine Losing It All

In the world of high-end photography, Annie Leibovitz's portfolio is the equivalent of The Beatles' catalog -- and she's in danger of losing it all.

Annie Leibovitz, John Lennon, Yoko Ono

Leibovitz, who took the infamous last photo of John Lennon before he was assassinated, is facing catastrophic financial problems -- if she doesn't pay back a $24 million loan by Tuesday, she'll lose the rights to every big photo she's ever taken. The list includes that controversial Miley Cyrus photo from last year, the pregnant Demi Moore Vanity Fair cover, the cover of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run" -- and really every interesting VF cover for the last 20 years or so.

In classic Michael Jackson-esque form, Leibovitz sunk deep into debt and then got a loan using her photo catalog (estimated at $40 million) and homes as collateral.

Tuesday is D-Day.

Yoko OnoGrace Slick wasn't the only rock fossil to emerge from her cocoon this weekend! Rock of ages!

When it comes to insanely inappropriate ensembles -- septuagenarians do it better! Yoko loco!

Yoko Wants a Smoko?!?

Could that woman in the dark specs, Panama hat, and slightly tortured expression be Yoko? Oh yes! We're not entirely sure what she's demonstrating here, but the two fellas at her table sure are rapt. Imagine all the possibilities!
Yoko Ono
We spotted the former Mrs. Lennon at celebriteria Cipriani Downtown with three other guests, enjoying the same Bellinis and other delights that Greasy Bear enjoyed just a few days ago. Only in New York can one possibly run into rock greatness or a fabulous celeb in a club ... or Yoko and Greasy Bear.

No Doggy Treat for Yoko

Yoko OnoHey, did you hear the one about Yoko Ono eating dog meat on a London radio show? Yeah -- never happened.

Turns out the story was a hoax and Yoko's reps sent a strongly-worded letter to the Press Association and The Sun, saying, "This allegation is completely untrue and highly defamatory." The Press Association has already issued an apology and The Sun is expected to follow suit.

Now Yoko will just have to go back to being referred to as "the woman who broke up the Beatles," rather than "the woman who broke up the Beatles and eats dog."

Yoko Ono Eats the Queen's Dog?

Happiness ... is a warm, tasty Corgi dog, at least for one London performance artist.
Artist eats dog, with Yoko Ono.
Ono was reportedly part of a canine-chewing stunt at a London radio station yesterday, reports Reuters, in which gonzo artist Mark McGowan ate cooked pieces of a Corgi, Queen Elizabeth II's dog of choice. McGowan staged the Fido-feeding (pictured above left) to protest the Queen's husband's treatment of a fox on a hunt last year. While the artist did his best to swallow a few chunks of Corgi (which had been minced with apple, onion and other seasonings), Yoko could only manage a small taste before looking "a bit strange," according to McGowan.

Performance artist McGowan is a rabid vegetarian and animal-rights activist who once notoriously ate a swan to protest the monarchy. He says that the Corgi had died at a breeding farm.

UPDATE:
Yoko Ono's publicist, Elliot Mintz, tells TMZ that his client wasn't anywhere near London for the canine-feeding. He says the report about her is "untrue and absurd."

Judge Deems Yoko's Driver a Flight Risk

Yoko Ono -- Koral KarsonLess than one week after Yoko Ono's driver was arrested for allegedly trying to extort his famous boss, a New York state Supreme Court Justice decided that Koral Karson is a flight risk and jailed the 50-year-old chauffeur without bail.

Karson, who is originally from Turkey, was considered a flight risk because of his international ties and questionable immigration status.

Sporting a blue blazer and wearing handcuffs, Karson pleaded not guilty to charges he tried to "steal property" that "exceeded $1 million." Police sources tell TMZ that Koral Karson allegedly told Yoko that he had photos and tapes of the Beatle widow that were highly embarrassing -- and that for $2 million, the tapes would never surface. Ono had other ideas, and called the cops.

If convicted, Karson could face anywhere from 5 to 15 years in prison.

During his arrest, Karson claimed that Ono pressed charges "to stop me from pursuing a sexual harassment case." Yoko's camp called the allegation "completely false."

Karson is due back in court January 11.

Imagine -- Yoko Ono, Extortion Victim

Yoko OnoTMZ has learned that Yoko Ono's personal driver has been arrested in New York City for allegedly trying to extort the widow of John Lennon. Now, the driver is saying he's the victim.

Police sources tell TMZ Koral Karson allegedly told Yoko Ono that he had photos and tapes of her that were highly embarrassing and that for $2 million the tapes would never surface. Today, New York cops obtained a warrant and searched Karson's home. Karson was arrested and charged with attempted grand larceny in the first degree.

Karson made some fiery accusations of his own on his way out of the police station yesterday, telling reporters that the only reason Ono pressed charges was "to stop me from pursuing a sexual harassment case." Ono's publicist, Elliot Mintz, has denied the claim saying, "That is completely false. She's the victim here,"

Sources say Karson allegedly confronted Ono with his ultimatum this past weekend, the anniversary of John Lennon's death.

Mintz tells TMZ his client was "shocked by what happened and did what any citizen would do -- she went to the cops."

Karson is currently in custody and will be arraigned Thursday.

Yoko, Oh No!

Yoko OnoSomeone didn't tell Yoko that Halloween was over a month ago.

The shrieking septuagenarian showed up for an art event in Miami on Thursday in this Willy Wonka meets the Mad Hatter meets Elvira ensemble ... which caused shrieking of another ilk.

Yoko's top hat, sunglasses and plunging neckline create a fashion trilogy of terror that leaves us wishing she'd dress more species-appropriate. Imagine!

John Lennon and the Grudge Report

The "Grudge Report" a site that parodies the famous news gathering site "Drudge Report" has appeared on the internet. The offending website is an advertisement for the upcoming Lions Gate documentary " The U.S. vs. John Lennon."

The documentary chronicles Lennon the peace activist as opposed to Lennon the Beatle and his troubles with the U.S. government- from the legal wrangling involving FBI files to the goverment try to deport him. The film will have interviews with Lennon's widow Yoko Ono, Walter Cronkite, Geraldo Rivera, activist Angela Davis, and Watergate ex-con G. Gordon Liddy.

While a parody of websites is nothing new, the act of re-creating a news website with the intent to promote a documentary about a peace activist is. Was Drudge irked? Who knows. But he did post the headline "Paramount Movie Campaign Mocks Drudge Report...."

"The U.S. vs. John Lennon" is set to be released in September.
