California Attorney General Jerry Brown played defense on Tuesday after Howard K. Stern's court hearing in the Anna Nicole Smith drug case, insisting he didn't abuse his power by gunning for H.K.S.
Stern's lawyer, Steve Sadow, lashed out at Brown, essentially calling him a demagogue who was aching to win the next Governor's race, using Stern as his stepping stone.
Brown said there was nothing wrong with devoting a boatload of money and resources to investigating Stern and Anna's two docs. He didn't exactly answer our question -- Would he have devoted the same resources if Anna Nicole wasn't the "victim?"

A week after the two-year anniversary of Anna Nicole Smith's death, Larry Birkhead made his way through LAX security this weekend with his biological daughter Dannielynn in his arms.
Howard K. Stern was nowhere in sight.

Larry Birkhead and daughter Dannielynn are now living in Anna Nicole's L.A. home -- and TMZ spies say the pair have been receiving some curious guests.
Anna Nicole lookalikes have been stopping by to visit the late busty blonde's former digs. Just this past week, our spy saw a white limo pull up to the house, and a woman resembling the deceased Playmate stepped out, walked up to the door dressed in an evening gown, took a picture at the door and was on her way.
No word yet on whether or not Larry and Dannie have been home during the random visits.

Larry Birkhead can leave the Bahamas with Dannielynn, at least for now.
A judge has just cleared the path for Birkhead to go to United States with one string -- he must return with Dannielynn for the full custody hearing in June.
Sources tell TMZ that Virgie Arthur objected to the ruling and could appeal. But that appeal may be too late. We're told Birkhead wants out in the next few days.
And there's this -- Arthur's lawyer protested there were leaks in the case, and pulled out several TMZ stories that he said were posted "minutes" after the various hearings ended.

Judge Larry Seidlin was pondering his pasta at Manhattan's froufrou Remi Restaurant yesterday.
Granted this cell phone picture isn't great, but we had to wonder if Larry was mulling over TV deals after taking meetings in Hollywood ... or maybe he's just sittin' there reliving his fifteen minutes.

Bobby Trendy has confirmed to TMZ that he will star alongside Willa Ford in the Anna Nicole Smith movie. Who better to play an outlandishly peculiar designer character than the character himself?
Trendy previously appeared with Smith in the "Anna Nicole Show" on E!, so this won't be a stretch for the whimsical fashion mavenette.
From the sound of it, Bobby thinks he's "starring" in the movie. TMZ didn't have the heart to break it to him that it's Anna's story.

Deflabbed, refabbed and Court TV-bound Star Jones helped rebound-king Shaquille O' Neal celebrate his 35th birthday at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, just one night before the public was told what killed Anna Nicole Smith upstairs at the same location.
Miss Jones Reynolds, wearing her golden goddess getup, and man-wife Al arrived to the party at a fashionably late 1:00 AM. The guest list included Terrell Owens and other Miami Heat players.
A Shaq-sized cake with sparklers was trotted out, and the crowd was rocked by a performance from Ludacris, followed by a fireworks display. You know, a nice simple affair.

TMZ has obtained a copy of the death certificate for the late son of Anna Nicole Smith.
While the certificate says an official cause for death is still "pending chemical analysis" for 20-year-old Daniel Wayne Smith, two separate sources close to the official Bahamian investigation confirmed the existence of three separate drugs in Daniel's bloodstream -- the same drugs found last week by Anna Nicole's private pathologist Dr. Cyril Wecht.
Daniel Smith died in the Bahamas on September 10 while visiting his mother who had just given birth to a baby girl.

On the heels of Anna Nicole Smith's statement, the Royal Bahamas Police Force has issued their own press release regarding the death of Anna Nicole's son Daniel.
Assistant Commissioner With Responsibility For Crime, Reginald Ferguson, said police received a call from the hospital informing them of Daniel's death on Sunday morning at around 10:29AM.
Officers were sent to the hospital where they discovered Daniel's "lifeless body" lying on his back on a bed. Crime scene investigators concluded there was "nothing unusual noticed about the condition of the room."
Police inquiries indicate that Daniel was last seen moving about the room at 6:30AM and at 7:30AM Daniel, Anna Nicole and Howard K. Stern were "observed to be asleep in the room."
Nurses responded to a call from Anna Nicole's room at 9:38AM (as Anna had said in her statement) and issued a Code Blue. Doctors and other medical staff then attempted to resuscitate Daniel for "approximately 23 minutes." Daniel Smith was pronounced dead at 10:05 am.
A few hours later Daniel was transported to the morgue and on Tuesday an autopsy was performed. With the results of the toxicology analysis still pending, police say the cause of death is still not known. This is of note because, as we first reported yesterday, the coroner confirmed to TMZ that she does, in fact, know what killed Daniel. A death certificate has not been issued.
The statement adds that local police are continuing with further investigations.

TMZ spoke with a source directly connected with the investigation who confirmed that the cause of death of Anna Nicole's Smith's son Daniel was "definitely not a heart attack."
Sources tell TMZ the coroner will hold an official inquiry into Daniel's death on October 23rd. Sources say they have definitely established a preliminary cause of death, but are awaiting a toxicology report, which should be completed late today or tomorrow. Sources say the toxicology report is routine in a sudden death. We're told police are currently conducting a "wide open investigation" into Daniel's death. Daniel was found dead in his mother's hospital room just days after she had delivered her new baby girl.
TMZ is also told that Daniel's body had "no external injuries." The sources refused to say if the 20-year-old suffered internal injuries.
Police sources say they are not ruling out a third party in connection with the death, but add they are not looking at anyone specific at this time.

DALLAS (AP) -- E. Pierce Marshall, who feuded for years with former Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith over his father's oil fortune, has died, his spokesman said Friday. He was 67.
Marshall died unexpectedly Tuesday evening in the Dallas area from a brief and extremely aggressive infection, the family said in a written statement released through spokesman David Margulies. He declined to provide additional details.
"The family would politely request that their privacy be respected during this extremely difficult time as they grapple with this devastating loss," the statement said.
