Gandhi's Inspirational Guide Is ... Britney?

Sir Ben Kingsley, the four-time Oscar nominee, told our cameras that he begins every day by singing the Britney Spears song, "Gimme More." Isn't that one of the signs of the apocalypse?

The "Sexy Beast" star was leaving Mr. Chow last night when our cameraman asked him about Britney, to which he responded, "She's my role model, an inspiration. I know every morning, people have morning mantras -- and my morning mantra is 'Gimme, gimme, gimme. Gimme, gimme, gimme.' It starts my day."

Britney's reach knows no bounds.

A spokesperson for the Walt Disney Co., which produced the "High School Musical" franchise, says it's sticking by Hudgens. Said Disney Channel spokeswoman Patti McTeague, "Vanessa has apologized for what was obviously a lapse in judgment. We hope she's learned a valuable lesson."

Kingsley to Appear in Quake Documentary

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Ben Kingsley will be featured in a documentary about the devastation caused by last year's earthquake in Pakistan that flattened entire villages in the country's portion of Kashmir and surrounding areas.

The documentary by director Chip Duncan is being made in partnership with Relief International, a Los Angeles-based aid organization. Pakistan's government also supported the project.

Relief International is worried that not enough food aid is in the pipeline for survivors of the Oct. 8 quake, which killed 87,000 people and left about 3 million homeless.

Duncan said he expected the documentary would be released on U.S. public television later this year. Excerpts will be used for fundraising, he said.
