Cops: Missing Thurman Thomas Statue Located

UPDATE: TMZ just received the following statement from Thurman Thomas -- the real Thurman Thomas, not the wooden statue version:

"I'm grateful for Orchard Park Police Dept for finding my carving, and I'm glad no Cleveland Browns fans took it and burned it."

A 1000 pound wooden statue of legendary NFL star Thurman Thomas has just been found -- one day after it was reportedly stolen from its perch outside of the Buffalo Bills stadium.

The story is insane -- police in Orchard Park, NY tell TMZ a Canadian dude has fessed up to taking the statue ... but says he only took it to save the 8 1/2-foot carving from grave danger.

Cops say the Canadian claims he saw a bunch of hooligans trying to light the giant pine statue on fire -- so he loaded wooden Thurman onto the back of a pick-up truck so he could drive it to safety.

BTW -- the statue had only been unveiled on Sunday.

Now, we're told the Canadian has contacted the owner of the statue to arrange the carving's safe return.

No word if the Thurman Thomas statue was able to locate its helmet in the melee.

Delivery Man: I Took Rx Drugs to Jackson Home

Delivery man: Click to watch
The guy said he didn't know if the deliveries went to Michael because different names were often used on the packages.

Billy Joel: Drumming Up Legal Trouble

Billy JoelBilly Joel is being sued, and for a reason that doesn't include smashing his car into something.

Liberty DeVitto, Joel's former drummer, is laying a beat down on the singer's wallet. DeVitto tells the NY Post he hasn't been paid his proper royalties for over ten years. Shouldn't DeVitto have brought this up a little sooner? Like every two weeks, when normal people get their paychecks?

Devitto was kicked out of the band in 2005--the same year Joel entered rehab.

The ousted drummer tells the paper if Joel would have talked to him "this probably never would have happened."

NFL Player Tased And Confused

Donte WhitnerThere must be something in the water in the NFL. Cleveland police say Buffalo Bills player Donte Whitner had to be shocked with a stun gun and arrested early this morning.

Officers were at the House of Blues trying to control a rowdy crowd outside the club, when the defensive back acted like he was on the field and forced his way past them and then broke free from officers trying to restrain him. He is the third Bills player to run into trouble with the law this year.

Whitner was arrested for aggravated disorderly conduct and resisting arrest but hasn't been charged. He has released a statement saying he regrets the incident.
