Sorry Richard Marx, but wherever you go, whatever you do, we will be right there waiting for ... Gerard Butler.

The hot "300" ladykiller and the former adult contemporary singing sensation entered Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig's play at the same time over the weekend.
Take a wild guess which one our camera guy actually focused on.

It sure wasn't "nothing but a good time" at the Tony Awards for Bret Michaels last night -- because after performing in the opening number, dude ran smack into a falling set piece and landed flat on his ass.

A spokesperson for the Tonys tells the AP Michaels just "missed his mark" but wouldn't comment on any injuries except to say his nose wasn't broken.

Want to do "date night" like the Obamas? Just get your hands on an unlimited budget, a private Gulfstream jet, and the United States Secret Service. Dinner and a movie is for suckers.

President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle hopped a jet to New York last night to see a Broadway play and then grabbed some dinner at a chic West Village restaurant.
The only problem, Barack critics say, is that it's the American taxpayers who footed the bill for the private planes that shuttled the Obamas back and forth (Air Force One got the night off). Obama sprung for the theater tix out of his own pocket.
With the economy in the crapper, the Prez can't even enjoy a night on the town without it being a national issue.

Just because Ben Vereen uses your product and goes on tape saying he uses your product, that doesn't mean you can tell people Ben Vereen uses your product. We'll explain.
Ben is suing a company called Supersmile. According to a lawsuit filed yesterday, Ben showed up at a gift suite at the TV Land Awards in 2007 and was handed some Supersmile toothpaste. Vereen says he had a quick interaction with a spokesmodel that was videotaped, and that was cool...so he thought.
But then, Ben claims, the company started using the video on their website and on YouTube as a product endorsement ... without his permission.
Ben is seeking damages in excess of $450,000.
Fun Fact: David Foster hit Ben V. with his car on Pacific Coast Highway back in 1992. It was an accident...so the story goes.

Adam Pascal -- "Roger" from the original cast of "RENT," now at the Pantages in L.A. -- put Jeremy Piven on blast last night for using sushi to bail on his Broadway play, calling Piv's excuse "crap" and total bull.

Jeremy Piven -- now famous for bailing on Broadway -- made it a spectator sport last night ... and ran smack into one of the co-stars who was also a victim of too much mercury.

Piven was mum as he left Will Ferrell's show -- ditto for former "Speed-the-Plow" co-star (and "Mad Men" cast member) Elisabeth Moss.

Jeremy Piven's reps have just come out swinging, boasting that during the grievance hearing over his aborted Broadway play, the actor's union sided with him. And Jeremy's reps want you to know, a doctor with connections to two hoity-toity colleges backs him up.
Producers for "Speed-the-Plow" will have to now convince an arbitrator Jeremy's doctor's note claiming mercury poisoning was bogus. In the statement, Jeremy's rep says Piven was so sick he could have had a heart attack if he didn't drop out of the play. So Jeremy did, despite "glowing reviews."
Piven's rep says Jeremy was examined by a "Harvard-educated cardiologist affiliated with Yale." End of story!
And there's this. Piven says he is "pleased with the Obama administration" for seeking an international treaty to reduce Mercury pollution.

The Actors' Equity Association could not reach a ruling today in the hearing involving Jeremy Piven, so now it looks like they might be headed to arbitration.
Piven and the producers were battling over his abrupt sushi-related departure from the Broadway play "Speed-the-plow."

Although he went home empty-handed at the Oscars, Brad Pitt had his arms full after leaving a Broadway show holding a third of his children on Wednesday.

Brad, Shiloh and Pax -- mama Jolie, Zahara and Maddox were also there -- went to see "The Little Mermaid."
As far as we know, Ariel was not adopted.

TMZ has learned that R&B star Usher is sick with the flu and has been unable to perform in the Broadway musical "Chicago." Usher, who has been playing Billy Flynn in the production since August 22, missed several shows Friday through Monday. Fans have lined the streets near the Ambassador Theater each night demanding refunds after discovering his understudy would be performing. Word has it that his doctor has ordered him to be on bed rest the remainder of the week (Wednesdays are his night off anyway) and that he may not return to the stage at all.
The singer was originally scheduled to perform through October 1, but extended his run until October 14, which is also his birthday. The shows have been sold-out for weeks and Usher is reportedly the highest paid to play the role of "Billy" in "Chicago" of all time. No word on whether he'll make up the sick days and extend his run again.
Update: Reps for Usher issued the following statement to TMZ:
Due to an illness, Grammy-Award winning superstar Usher will not be returning to the Broadway stage to complete his final week in the hit musical Chicago. Usher's manager Jonnetta Patton issued the following statement, "Usher is currently being treated for an extreme case of strep throat. He fell ill last Friday and his condition became progressively worse, so under strict orders from his doctors, Usher has been instructed not to perform. He is really saddened that he cannot close out his last week in Chicago"with a bang. Usher has had an amazing time on Broadway and loved every minute of performing on stage with the entire cast of Chicago. He expresses his sincere apologies to all of his fans who purchased tickets to see him in Chicago this final week and appreciate all of their love and support. He is thankful to the producers, the entire cast and production crew of Chicago."

Missy, if this were merely a fling, we think it would have flung by now. Nick and Vanessa truly seem to have fallen for each other. In fact, this past Sunday both traveled from different parts of the globe to spend some quality time together -- Nick from Sydney, Australia and Vanessa from the Big Apple.
Included in their Sunday stroll was a trip to the market after enjoying lunch at Casa Vega in Sherman Oaks, Calif.
For a peek at some of Vanessa's dance moves, take a look at this.
Where the hell has Usher been?
Tia, Usher has his dancin' shoes on and will be making his way across the Broadway stage in a matter of weeks. He is taking on one of the leading roles in the New York Broadway production of Chicago, which debuts August 22 at the Ambassador Theater in NY. He made an appearance on Tuesday's "TRL" to talk about the big event and made sure to take time for cameras and fans afterward.
Usher is also planning a tour for 2007, so stay tuned to TMZ for updates.

Tony award-winning playwright Jeff Whitty doesn't find comedian Jay Leno very funny.
Whitty, writer of the Broadway musical comedy 'Avenue Q,' fired off a letter to 'The Tonight Show' host criticizing Leno's "gay-baiting" jokes.
Whitty is upset over Leno's ongoing quips at the expense of homosexuals. In a letter posted on Whitless.com, Whitty specifically cites a 'Tonight Show' skit involving a horse made up in a "gay" way, in what Whitty calls a "tired mockery" of 'Brokeback Mountain.'
"I know you know gay people, Mr. Leno," Whitty writes in his letter. "Are they just jokes to you, to be snickered at behind their backs?"

Except for Broadway musicals and a few select appearances, Toni Braxton hasn't done many live performances in the past decade. But that's about to change.
The R&B diva is embarking on her first tour in 10 years to support her latest album, "Libra." The tour will kick off March 10 in Atlantic City, N.J., and end July 3 in Houston at the Essence Music Festival.
"I'm thrilled to be going out on the road again," Braxton said Friday in a statement to The Associated Press. "I can't wait to bring not only the hits that people know and love but to share the new music from `Libra' with the audience."
Braxton, who is best known for hits such as "Breathe Again," "You're Makin' Me High" and "Love Shoulda Brought You Home," has starred on Broadway in "Aida" and "Beauty and the Beast."
