David Spade says he has no regrets about resurrecting a classic scene from "Tommy Boy" -- featuring the late, great Chris Farley -- for a controversial DirecTV ad, telling TMZ that offending people was never his intention.
We got David outside Boa last night, where he told us Farley's family and the director of "Tommy Boy" all gave their seal of approval for the spot.
He wasn't lying -- Kevin Farley, Chris' bro, was there too and said the commercial was "an honor to my brother."
A ridiculous commercial just surfaced in which Christopher "Kid" Reid pushes 2-for-1 suits for a store in Carson, CA ... and trust us, it's the best thing we've seen since Duncan Pinderhugheslearned how to dance.
The best line: "You tryin' to take your lady out? Take your mother out? One of your homeboys got shot? You got things to do and you can't wear shorts and flip-flops."
The company that ran this ad may want to rethink its cover model -- 1-800-YES GIRL still features murdered model Jasmine Fiore in their commercial.
UPDATE: We spoke to a rep for the company in charge of placing commercials for 1-800-YES-GIRL, who said they pulled this spot back in January and replaced it with a new one. The rep said he has no idea why the commercial would still be running at all, and said his client is NOT airing this spot to try and "capitalize on her tragic death." The rep said they're investigating the matter.
When you think of Audrina Patridge, only four things come to mind -- "The Hills," her ad for Carl's Jr. and her ...
But Audrina told Fox411 that her family teases her about her ad for the fast food chain, saying, "Even my family, when I go home for BBQs, they're like, 'Audrina look at this!' and they make fun of me!"
First of all, Audrina has nothing to be ashamed of -- that commercial is hot. Secondly, what else is anyone supposed to talk to Audrina about? Global warming, race relations, the economy?
As the old saying goes -- if you got it, use it to sell teriyaki burgers with grilled pineapples.
Billy Mays put the finishing touches on a commercial two weeks before he died -- which featured him being hoisted on a moving, 500 ton boat to show the strength of the putty he was peddling.
TV commercials for the Mighty Putty Super Pack and Mighty Tape will begin airing this month.
Mighty Brand President Bill McAlister tells us Mays' pic will remain on boxes of all the products he endorsed until a decision is made on a successor.
You never see the two of them at the same place at the same time -- but Jared from Subway insists he's not the same guy from those Verizon commercials -- can you see it now?
Windell Middlebrooks, the guy who plays the delivery man in the Miller beer commercials, knows a good gig when he's got one -- and not even the temptation of a nice cold Hefeweizen could get him to cheat on the High Life.
Tom Brady wasn't the only celebrity at Best Buy in West LA yesterday -- turns out the Patriots' quarterback took a few product handoffs from the guy who stars in one of BB's commercials!
You may recognize Matthew from this spot-- which proves the dude really is an employee and not some random guy acting like one of the boys in blue.
Only in Los Angeles ... and only the best for Tommy boy.
Shaquille O'Neal -- the same guy who wanted Kobe to "taste his ass" -- is under fire for his role in an ESPN commercial after some gay rights groups slammed it for being homophobic.
The spot, which was just pulled by the network, features Shaq rejecting a "fist kiss" -- a spin on the term "fist pound" -- from sports commentator Mike Breen. After the offer, Shaq responds, "No fist kiss, no fist love, no fist hump. None of that. You're a weirdo man. Stay over there ... fist kiss ... disgusting."
Long story short: GLAAD (the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) blasted the ad. ESPN apologized and has since pulled the spot.
No word from Shaq yet, but several articles have made sure to point out O'Neal's history of gay rights advocacy -- including the time he stated he would "protect a gay teammate" and the time he chased down a pack of gay bashers in Miami.
Tiger Woods ad-libbed during a commercial shoot for Buick -- and his attempt at stunt work left his co-star bloodied!
The scene called for a man to steal Tiger's golf clubs and for Tiger to retaliate by throwing a golf ball at him. But Tiger decided that it wasn't a harsh enough reaction. "If someone took my golf bag, I would do something a little bit more than just throw a golf ball at him," Tiger said yesterday. Woods hasn't played in a PGA golf tournament since last October; he's apparently been watching a lot of football.
He came up with the idea to tackle the "thief" on the next take. And what a tackle it was -- golf clubs went flying everywhere -- and the actor got a nasty cut on the forehead. They don't call him Tiger for nothing!
Coincidentally, Tiger Woods tees it up in his first tournament of the year today -- the Buick Invitational, airing Saturday and Sunday at 3PM ET on CBS.
Although you won't be seeing Britney's face during the Super Bowl halftime show, her soon to be ex-husband Kevin Federline is set to star in his own commercial.
Nationwide Insurance has hired Federline to star in one of their ads, set to run during some of the most expensive airtime on television. Although we're not exactly sure what talent (and we use the term loosely) K-Fed is going to be showcasing -- but if his commercial is anything like past spokespersons, such as Fabio or MC Hammer -- Kevin will definitely be making fun of himself.
The company's motto "Life comes at you fast" leaves endless ironically satirical plots as possibilities. With Kev and Brit's recent split and custody/financial battle still in the making, it's good to see Federline being proactive and working straight through the last of his fifteen minutes. Someone's got to pay for that apartment in the valley.
