Drew Carey is still the patron saint of free lunches in Hollywood.
The "Price Is Right" host became famous during the writers' strike for picking up the tab for any striking writer who flashed their WGA card. Now, we've learned Drew has expanded his generosity to include everyone.
A spy at Swingers in Los Angeles says Drew bought everyone in the restaurant lunch between the hours of 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM this past Thursday. Drew even let his Twitter followers in on the act when he posted, "I'm at Swinger's at 8020 Beverly Blvd in LA. Anybody who gets here by 2pm and is prepared to leave a good tip, your meal is on me."
One patron told us they added a brownie sundae onto their order -- once they learned it was all on Drew.
One of the most unbelievable things ever happened on the set of the yesterday's "Price is RIght" -- some dude nailed the price of his showcase to the exact dollar -- and host Drew Carey couldn't have looked more bored.
No one has pulled off an exact bid in more than 30 years -- plus, the dude had already won $500 in cash for nailing the exact price of a cooker earlier in the show -- but after the showcase stunner, Drew was more fired up to talk about spaying and neutering pets.
A TMZ spy who happened to be in the audience during the taping says when Drew knew the guy hit the exact number, he stopped down taping and had a pow-wow with show producers for nearly 30 minutes. Our spy thinks they were trying to figure out how to handle the situation on camera. Unfortunately, when they resumed taping, Drew's reaction was a little less than spectacular -- while the crowd went insane.
Maybe in another 36 years, he'll show a little more excitement.
Dina Lohan made a joke of moms everywhere by being honored for being a good parent -- so we wanted to know how her twice jailed, 3x rehab graduate felt about the award.
Also in L.A.: Nicole and Joel spent a night out without the baby, Drew Carey's interview was hijacked by a fame-seeking passerby, Bobby Brown stuffed his belly and a flux capacitor-equipped DeLorean made it's way back from the future.
In NY: Eva Mendes corrected TMZ for pronouncing her name wrong, Sarah Larson wouldn't spill what she got George Clooney for his b-day, Conan O'Brien went walking with his adorable kids and Christian Siriano went "hot tranny mess" hunting at the Wavery Inn.
Forget controlling the pet population, new "Price Is Right" host Drew Carey has his own cause -- medical marijuana. Come on down!
The funnyman teamed up with Reason.tv to take a look at the trendy area of Brentwood, Calif. to show how someone can find a place to buy an alcoholic or heavily-caffeinated beverage on nearly every corner -- while the federal government is cracking down on something that can treat the effects of cancer, glaucoma, HIV-AIDS, chronic pain and nausea. Let's see a mocha frappuccino do that!
Carey is hoping the government will reclassify medical marijuana so that those who need it can get it. Maybe he should just give an ounce away in the Showcase Showdown!
The 52-year-old comedian showed up to a charity event in L.A. on Sunday, sans drag makeup. She's a natural beauty! Kathy also coughed up a hefty $5,000 check to benefit Aid for Aids.
One overly energetic contestant flipped out -- and wiped out -- on Drew Carey's first day on "The Price is Right."
Carey, who appears to be holding his own since the departure of Bob Barker, appeared in his first episode of the game show today, and one woman just couldn't stay on her feet after she came on down.
The lady, Aura, not only showed off her gymnastic skills by doing a cartwheel onstage, she also fell flat on her ass after winning "It's in the Bag." Looks like they've waxed those floors since Barker took off!
Drew Carey says he's fine after his on-set accident last week, but dear Lord -- look at his wrist! It looks like he was dog sitting at Michael Vick's house! The new "Price Is Right" emcee showed off his battle wounds while on KROQ's "Kevin & Bean" show in Los Angeles this morning. Back on Friday, Drew got his arm caught in the revolving turntable on stage while rehearsing for the Grocery Game. He was back on set later that day in a soft cast, joking around with crew members and showing off his battle wounds.
Protect the human population! Time to have those pricing games spayed and neutered!
Plinko lovers, take heart -- Drew Carey takes his game playing very seriously.
The bespectacled comedian has been telling friends that part of the reason he took the job as host of the prime time game show "Power of Ten" was because tapings fit around the L.A. Galaxy's soccer game schedule, and Drew is a major fan.
The same goes for his new gig as the host of "The Price is Right," which conveniently won't conflict with Carey's game goals, and he'll still be able to, er, come on down. The future Bob Barker hardly seems like the athletic type, but he's actually been a longtime Galaxy groupie. He's even got his very own luxe box at the Galaxy's Home Depot Center stadium. Game on!
Comedian Drew Carey confirmed to David Letterman today that he is indeed going to take over for Bob Barker as host of "The Price Is Right." In a taping for tonight's episode of "The Late Show," Carey told Dave, "It's a done deal. I'm the new host of "The Price Is Right.'"
Drew told Dave that he found out the deal was complete while he was waiting to come out for the show. The deal is so fresh, Drew doesn't even know when he begins!
Harvey Levin You're not the only one who thinks T.O. isn't doing that well this season... http://su.pr/5bNNfP
