Doing a half-marathon in the desert is taxing enough -- but just throw on an Elvis jumpsuit and try to run!
The annual Zappos.com Las Vegas Marathon is taking place this coming December, and to help bring a little more action to the race, event organizers are trying to coax runners into dressing as The King for the 13-mile jaunt -- blue suede kicks optional!
The goal is to get 101 running Elvi in this year's race, with the marathon's website advising interested participants to "Work on your best 'thank you very much' Elvis impersonation. You're gonna need it."

P!nk will never forget her recently departed pooch -- especially since she inked his furry little face on her arm!
In late January, the singer returned home and found her beloved bulldog, Elvis, drowned in her backyard pool. The dog often took a dip but somehow didn't survive his last one.
The devastated songstress is an animal lover and supporter of PETA. Her body art memorial marks tattoo number 22. Elvis was a gift from Lisa Marie Presley.

We've eagerly been waiting here at TMZ for our chance to own a cup that may (or may not) have been used by Elvis Presley. Now that chance to spend all of our hard earned cash on a Styrofoam cup has arrived.
For a starting bid of $56,000, you too can own the world famous Elvis Cup. That's right -- for the price of a luxury German sedan, you can own the cup the King himself allegedly drank from at a 1977 concert.
Wade Jones, the man who saved the cup from obscurity, has already auctioned off three teaspoons of water from the the cup for $455 back on Christmas Day 2004. Now Wade is going for the whole enchilada and selling the cup that has brought him so much joy over the years.
Now all we need is an Elvis plate and some Elvis utensils and we'll have ourselves an Elvis dining set.

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS -- The billionaire media mogul who holds an 85 percent stake in Elvis Presley Enterprises told Memphis leaders that Graceland should become an international tourist attraction on par with Disneyland or Universal theme parks.
Meeting with government and business officials Thursday, Robert F.X. Sillerman said he has plans to spruce up the area around the Memphis mansion where Presley died in 1977 and double the 600,000 annual visitors.
"As we are upon the 50th anniversary of Elvis Presley's explosion into our culture, it is only fitting that Graceland assumes an even more prominent role in American culture and tourism," said Sillerman.
