Forget Jack Bauer -- Kiefer Sutherland is more like Superman ... as in dodging bullets. The NYC D.A. just rejected filing charges in the headbutting incident and the L.A. City Attorney says it's a bunch of hooey so he won't try and violate Kiefer's probation for DUI. 
The crowd at Comic-Con in San Diego was duly impressed. Remember Jack McCullough, you don't tug on Kiefer's cape ...

Kiefer Sutherland is officially off the hook for that whole headbutting incident in NYC back in May ... because it amounted to a bunch of nothing.
The Manhattan D.A. has just rejected the case against the "24" star and we're told it's all because officials determined it was a petty matter that did not rise to the level of criminal conduct.
And it gets even better for Sutherland -- we've learned the L.A. City Attorney is equally unimpressed with the incident and will not try and violate Kiefer's probation from a prior DUI conviction.
Just like Jack Bauer, Kiefer got off virtually unscathed.

It looks like Kiefer Sutherland has dodged a major bullet after the famous headbutt -- it's highly unlikely he will be prosecuted for the love tap with designer Jack McCollough.
There is no longer a complaining witness in the case because McCollough has settled his beef with Jack Bauer.
Without a complaining witness -- especially since this is a misdemeanor -- you can bet your house that Kiefer will not be prosecuted.
Especially important because the development makes it unlikely Kiefer will have his probation violated in Los Angeles -- he has to be a good boy after his DUI conviction last year.
No word on whether Kiefer had to pay Jack for his medical bills ... or his enormous grief.

We've learned the L.A. City Attorney has contacted the NYPD for all their info on that Kiefer Sutherland headbutting incident last week.
Kiefer is on probation for a DUI conviction in L.A. One of the conditions of probation -- he must obey all laws. The City Attorney could go back to the judge and ask that Kiefer's probation be revoked and that could potentially mean some serious jail time -- around 11 months max.
The City Attorney hasn't made a decision yet.

Kiefer Sutherland just kinda sorta broke his silence about allegedly breaking designer Jack McCollough's nose -- but if McCollough's looking for an apology, he better start looking somewhere else.

Brooke Shields has just come out and contradicted her own reps by officially saying Jack McCollough -- the dude Kiefer Sutherland headbutted -- bumped her just before the incident.
Brooke says the statements attributed to her "are neither true nor authorized." She goes on, saying she "was bumped into by Jack McCollough and Kiefer Sutherland became concerned." As we reported, Brooke told friends the day after the incident she was "jostled" by Jack and fell.
Brooke also adds "Kiefer has always been a gentleman in her company."
Sounds like she's on K.S.'s side.

The New York lawyer for Kiefer Sutherland just issued a somewhat cryptic statement about the headbutting incident last week.
Attorney Michael Miller said he was "troubled by the untruthful and self-serving information circulating regarding Kiefer..." We're told he's referring to the statement from the rep for Jack McCollough -- the head-buttee -- in which he calls the incident a "vicious, violent, unprovoked assault."
There were also statements attributed to Brooke Shields, claiming she was in no way involved in the incident. But we know Brooke has told people Jack "jostled" her and she fell.
Miller adds he's confident the Manhattan D.A. will call BS on the assault charge against Kiefer.

Forget about that scratch you saw designer Jack McCollough sporting post-Kiefer Sutherland headbutt, Kiefer did some real damage -- allegedly.
McCollough's rep tells TMZ Jack suffered a broken nose as a result of Kiefer channeling his inner Jack Bauer early Tuesday morning. He even had to have surgery to fix it. 
As we first reported, Brooke Shields feels her fall, that set things off between Kiefer and Jack, was more the fault of her 6" heels than the "jostle" from McCollough.

So this whole rift between Brooke Shields and Kiefer Sutherland over the headbutting incident ... here's the real story.
Brooke's reps told us that Kiefer was full of it when he said alleged victim Jack McCollough knocked Brooke over. Her reps said "nothing happened to her."
But Brooke has told friends she was indeed "jostled" by McCollough just before the headbutting, though she says it was "no big deal." Brooke says after McCollough made contact with her she fell, but not all the way to the ground. She doesn't believe it was intentional.
Brooke blames the fall on her 6" high heels and the fact that the room was dark and crowded and it was really really late.
Brooke says it all happened so fast.... but fact is, she does back up Kiefer on the issue of contact.

There may be a hitch in Kiefer Sutherland's surrender on charges of assault for that whole head-butting incident in New York the other night.
The plan was that Kiefer would turn himself in today and get what amounts to a ticket to appear for an arraignment at a later date.
But now there is some question as to whether a non-resident can just walk in and walk out with a ticket ... it's possible he could be arrested and taken into custody and arraigned right away.

We've confirmed that Kiefer Sutherland will be charged with misdemeanor assault in connection with the headbutting incident earlier this week.
Kiefer headbutted fashion designer Jack McCollough at an event after-party on Monday -- an attack Jack says was completely unprovoked. We're told Kiefer says he did it after Jack pushed Brooke Shields.
The New York Daily News broke the story. Kiefer will show up at the NYPD and get a desk appearance ticket and his arraignment date will be set.
A rep from the L.A. City Attorney's office tells TMZ they will contact the NYPD and the D.A. to get details and then decide if they will try and revoke Kiefer's probation. He's currently on probation for a DUI.

Regarding the Kiefer Sutherland headbutting incident in NYC Monday night ... new details from law enforcement, and they back up Kiefer's story that Brooke Shields was in the middle of the spat that left designer Jack McCollough injured.
According to one law enforcement source, "Brooke was definitely involved." As we reported, Kiefer and witnesses say McCollough pushed Brooke and Kiefer stepped in and demanded he apologize to her. Kiefer's peeps say Jack pushed Kiefer, and the actor responded with a headbutt.
There are reports Kiefer was drunk at the time of the incident.
Law enforcement sources also tell us they have been in touch with FOX studios, asking for them to arrange a time when cops can interview Kiefer.

Brooke Shields is squaring off against Kiefer Sutherland ... and it's getting ugly fast.
Shields' reps tell TMZ the man Kiefer headbutted Monday night in no way did anything to Brooke that would have warranted the alleged attack.
As we reported, witnesses say Proenza Schouler designer Jack McCollough knocked Brooke to the ground at an after-party for the Met Costume Institute Gala in NYC Monday night. But Brooke's rep says "nothing happened to her," adding "Jack did nothing inappropriate. It's not clear what caused Kiefer to do what he did."
Witnesses say Kiefer went up to Jack and demanded he apologize to Brooke. Jack allegedly pushed Kiefer and Kiefer then headbutted Jack.
But Brooke's reps tell us Jack, who designs clothes for Brooke, "did absolutely nothing to her."
But here's where the plot thickens. We asked the rep, "Did Jack touch her?" Their response -- "We don't know."
We're told Brooke will be interviewed by cops Wednesday.

Law enforcement sources tell us Kiefer Sutherland headbutted a man in New York City Monday night, causing lacerations on the man's nose -- all while defending the honor of one Brooke Shields ... so he says.
It happened at an after-party for the Met Costume Institute Gala Monday night. We're told witnesses say the alleged victim -- Proenza Schouler designer Jack McCollough -- allegedly knocked Brooke Shields over and Kiefer saw it happen. The witnesses say Kiefer went over to the man and told him to apologize to her. At that point they say McCollough pushed Kiefer and the actor responded with a headbutt.
A police report was taken and the incident is under investigation.
Complicating it for Kiefer -- he's on probation in L.A. for a DUI, and one of the terms is that he obey all laws. No word on whether L.A. prosecutors will pursue the matter.
