Lindsay Lohan's former assistant plans to send Michael Lohan a cease and desist letter for secretly taping several conversations she had with him more than a year ago ... and legal action is not out of the question.
Jenni Muro -- who stepped down as Lindsay's day-to-day manager last February -- called TMZ a few minutes ago and said Lindsay's mercenary father has violated her privacy and the privacy of the daughter he uses as a cash register.
In the tapes, Muro (pictured right with Lindsay) talks about trying to save Lindsay's life -- a life that was spinning out of control. She says the tape was heavily edited and taken out of context.
Muro says Michael's conduct was "way beyond low."

Maria Maria, cell phone cheatah! It appears Maria Shriver broke the law prohibiting driving under the influence of a cell phone -- a law her hubby supported and signed into law last year.

Kaleefornia Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger apparently can't lay down the law in his own home. Maria was photographed twice driving her car while holding her cell phone -- most recently last Sunday in Los Angeles.
Had Shriver been busted, she would have owed the bankrupt state of California $20 plus fees for the first offense ... $50 plus fees for the second. BTW, we need every dime we can get.
We called the Guv's office and Maria's rep yesterday -- radio silence.

Howard K. Stern and Khristine Eroshevich did not enter pleas today in L.A. County Criminal Court -- their arraignment in the Anna Nicole Smith drug case was delayed until May 13.

Stern's lawyer, Steve Sadow, told the media after the arraignment that "[Howard] is innocent. Let me repeat that, he is innocent."
Sadow reiterated what we first reported -- Stern plans to fight these charges to the end, because he believes he did absolutely nothing wrong.
Sadow excoriated California Attorney General Jerry Brown, saying he should be "ashamed of himself" for using Anna Nicole to further his career.

TMZ spies were at the Playboy Mansion on Monday night for the Marijuana Policy Project (MPP) event ... but they didn't inhale!

The organization, which supports the legalization of medical marijuana, held a gathering at Hef's party central, where guests were warned on invitations that any use of marijuana on site would be grounds for getting bunny-bounced off the grounds.
Trouble is, some party people didn't take the warning seriously. Our spy described seeing a few of the attendees disappear, then return to the party red-eyed, mellow and reeking of pot. Our spy also reports that the buffet was particularly popular.
We contacted a rep from MPP who gave this statement: "Whenever we do an event where the public is invited, we always make it clear that no illegal activity will be tolerated. Most people actually respect and follow the rules. However, when an event has hundreds of guests, there is always a handful that choose to do as they please. Our people did not see anyone doing anything of the sort. Had we seen such activity, we would have shown them the door."
Exhale.

Rump shaking international singing sensation Shakira channeled her inner Marilyn Monroe while filming her upcoming music video for the song, "Illegal."
Forgoing her usual popstar-fabulous look, Shakira was spotted in a glamorous diamond studded evening gown while rocking platinum blonde locks. Regardless of her attire, the entire male staff of TMZ can hardly wait for the video to be released.

Jesse McCartney is a teen idol -- a hot young singer. The 18-year-old is learning the perks of Hollywood -- that you can illegally enter a nightclub and drink, no questions asked.
This photo of McCartney was taken last Saturday night at Mood, one of the hottest clubs in Hollywood. Under California law, no one under 21 is permitted to enter the club, much less drink inside. But the Corona in Jesse's firm grip tells a very different story.
TMZ has video of other underage stars entering and leaving Mood -- 19-year-old Mary-Kate Olsen, 19-year-old Lindsay Lohan, 20-year-old Frankie Muniz, and the list goes on, though we don't know what they did when they were inside. How do they get away with it?
A Hollywood nightclub promoter, who asked to remain anonymous, was blunt: "Authorities know that there are underage celebrities inside drinking and if they don't care, why should we?" He added the obvious: "Celebrities help to make our clubs more exclusive."
