Mayer -- the dog we helped rescue along with the real John Mayer -- seems to be doing quite well with his new family. And by "well" we mean "friggin' cute as all hell!!!!!"
Mayer was placed into this loving home with the help of Ace of Hearts dog rescue foundation after he bet us $25,000 we couldn't find his mug shot.
The new owners tell us they are huge John Mayer fans, but they didn't know the dog's backstory until shortly after the adoption. They had recently lost a dog to cancer and tell us Mayer gets home-cooked organic meals. Lucky mutt!
We haven't seen the real John Mayer this happy since he was dating Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Simpson, Minka Kelly, Jennifer Aniston .... or maybe never.
A memorial was held for DJ AM last night at the Palladium in Hollywood -- and a random array of stars showed up to pay their respects.
Robert Downey Jr., John Mayer, Lindsay Lohan, Samantha Ronson, Scott Caan, Tom Arnold, Dr. Drew and director Jon Favreau were all seen making their way into the venue.
Also there: Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart, making their first public appearance together since their "naked" tape leaked last month.
The Ace of Hearts dog rescue foundation was so pumped that we were able to find John Mayer's mug shot -- and score them a $12,500 donation in the process -- they named a few canines after Harvey Levin, John and TMZ!
Here's a little background info on the well-named canines:
-- Levin is a 3-year-old Shar Pei/Mastiff mix -- Mayer is a 2-3 month-old Beagle/Hound mix puppy -- TMZ is a 1-year old Boxer/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix
The adorable dogs were rescued last weekend from a high kill shelter in Northern California -- now all three need some good people to reach out and give them a home.

John Mayer is keeping up with his end of yesterday's $25,000 "find my mug shot" challenge -- at least it appears he is.
Johnny boy just posted pictures of the checks he wrote to Pet Orphans of Southern California and Ace of Hearts -- the two charities we picked for him to split the 25k between after we located his 2001 mug shot.
Just look at all those adorable little puppies .... don't they make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside?
UPDATE: So The Smoking Gun put the mug up around 5 minutes before us. Before we had it in our hands, we put up a post saying we found the mug and the arrest in Atlanta ... which we posted before they got the mug up. Bottom line -- here's what John said on Twitter: "if Harvey Levin at TMZ can produce my mugshot, I will donate 25k to the charity of his choice."
We found the mug ... so pay up, John.

John was arrested on May 26, 2001 for driving with a suspended license in Atlanta -- the case was dismissed exactly one month later on June 26.
...is what we're going to say if this whole "challenge" he made to TMZ turns out to be complete BS.
Here's the story -- John Mayer posted a challenge on his Twitter page, offering to give $25,000 to the charity of TMZ's choice (an animal charity) if we could produce his mug shot.
We've searched all over the place, and we can't find squat. We've even followed up on a lead that the shot was hidden somewhere in the video game Grand Theft Auto IV. Still, nothing.
So, we turn to you -- the public. If you've ever seen a John Mayer mug shot anywhere in your life -- tell us where the damn thing is.
No need to call a doctor -- Michael Jackson is about to be remade again ... but this time by John Mayer*, Lionel Richie and Whitney Houston.
Larry King's wife Shawn tells us Usher, Dionne Warwick, Wyclef and Jermaine Jacksonare joining Mayer, Richie and Houston in recording a remake of Jacko's "Will You Be There." Shawn, who is spearheading the tribute and sings on it as well, tells us she's not sure if Jennifer Hudson -- who sang the song at Michael's over-the-top memorial last month -- will be involved with the project, as she just gave birth.
The proceeds from the song will be split 50/50 between The Larry King Cardiac Foundation and LaToya Jackson an unspecified charity close to MJ.
*UPDATE: Mayer's rep denies he's a part of the project, saying, "John is currently in the studio working on his upcoming album, this report is false."
Right before going to bed last night, Perez Hilton and John Mayer shared a heated exchange on, well, Twitter of course.
"From the heart," Mayer writes to Perez, "what you experienced these last 24 hrs is a profound lack of control. You can't blog the world, my friend."
The argument consisted of over a dozen saucy back-and-forth posts. Perez tirelessly defends his honor while Mayer suggests better ways Perez could have handled the situation with Will.I.Am, going as far as to cite rules of the Israeli martial art, Krav Maga.

And as if the whole world coming down on the sassy blogger weren't enough, Mayer tops off his beef by calling Perez a "dumb sh*t."
We love the antics of John Mayer as much as anyone, but it has started to reach the point where everything he does seems like a put on.
Take last night for example -- he came out of club MyHouse carrying a very inebriated looking Rob Dyrdek. Was Rob really out of it? Or was it another (sorta) clever John Mayer prank? We may never know.
UPDATE -- Maybe it was all true. Early this morning, John posted this on his Twitter -- "In triage at Cedars with @robdyrdek. When the contents of his stomach hit that silicon bag and we all saw it, we just broke into applause."
Last night at The Staples Center in Los Angeles, John Mayer showed up in the middle of Taylor Swift's concert to sing "Your Body Is a Wonderland" with the hot country star.
And, no, there's nothing weird about John serenading Taylor. She's 19.

John Mayer's a smart guy ... he's good at math. He knows, even if Jennifer Aniston is hotter than any two women combined, that if he bags 14 chicks in one night ... who needs Friends?
