Johnny Knoxville is a self-confessed jackass -- but says even he wouldn't knowingly bring a grenade into an airport.
In a statement on his website, Johnny says the wardrobe gal from a commercial shoot a few days back actually packed a "prop grenade" in his bag -- and he never knew it was there.
Law enforcement tells us Knoxville gave them the same story at LAX yesterday when he was stopped and cited for carrying a real grenade sans ammo.
Knoxville writes "Ah f**k was I bummed when I realized what had happened... They [the cops] were cool as they could be to me, considering the situation, and it is no one's fault but my own. I should have checked my goddamn luggage through and through."
Despite the hold up with security, he still made it to his flight on time and is now in Miami.

Hold the orange chicken -- "Jackass" star Johnny Knoxville is running his own panda express!

The whack job was caught driving around L.A. with a seat-belted stuffed animal panda in his passenger seat. Maybe Johnny's auditioning for "Lars and the Real Girl, Part 2."

"In the Navy, yes, you can sail the seven seas. In the Navy, yes, you can put your mind at ease!"
Johnny Knoxville showed up to upscale eatery Orso yesterday -- dressed in his best Navy uniform -- sporting a butch sailor's hat and powder blue button down shirt.
Giving no explanation for the ensemble, Knoxville left his business lunch with a suited exec -- and took off for the nearest port.

Taking a page from the Don Imus playbook, Johnny Knoxville rocked one hell of an offensive shirt to a birthday lunch for his good friend at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills yesterday. They don't call him a jackass for nothing!

Knoxville, a former Out Magazine cover boy, enjoyed a romantic two-hour lunch with his same-sex pal (seen on the shirt), before the two giddily strolled out of the posh eatery together.
Note the personalized belt buckle.

Admit it... you just can't get enough of "Jackass." You have every episode of the TV show on DVD and you were first in line to see both "Jackass" flicks. Never fear, there's plenty more where that came from.
An insider at Paramount Studios tells TMZ that they have so much video featuring Chris Pontius, Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Bam Margera and the whole crew that they will be releasing never before seen scenes straight to DVD on "Jackass 2.5." The studio was also so thrilled with the huge success of "Jackass Number Two" -- which took in $51.5 million in its first two weeks of release -- that they have greenlighted "Jackass Three" and are speeding up production on that release.
Thank god... and you thought you'd have to wait forever to see Steve-O be used for bait.

The question on everyone's lips after TMZ's exclusive story about the Jessica Simpson-Nick Lachey financial settlement was naturally: Who came out on top? From a purely financial standpoint, Jessica may have won the battle, with a far bigger stake of the couple's estate. But who's really winning the post-split war -- if it can be called that -- between the two former "Newlyweds," not just in money, but in love, family, and career? We've done a breakdown of the two stars' lives to see who's going to be the true winner in this relationship when all is said and done.

REBOUND ROMANCE:
Nick: He started off with the mystery girl from Ohio, then there were a couple of outings with Kristin Cavallari, and it seems as though he's found a steady in steamy Vanessa Minnillo -- she even met the family recently.
Jessica: The cloud of rumor started over alleged homewrecker Johnny Knoxville, then moved onto funnyman Dane Cook, and, then, last week, singer-songwriter John Mayer.
ADVANTAGE: NICK. Things are not going your way in the love department when John Mayer calls you "desperate." As for Nick, moving on is always a good thing, especially when your facilitator is as hot as Vanessa is.

Puck. Omarosa. LC. If you're a fan of reality TV then you probably recognize those one name monikers and the "characters" that go with them.
With every passing day there seem to be more and more reality shows filled with an endless pool of wannabe stars clamoring for fame. While most will be forgotten faster than you can say Darva Conger, a rare few have managed to eek out legit careers. And by legit we mean more than just appearing on more reality shows.
TMZ reveals which reality stars have beaten the odds and gone on to become real stars.
Kelly Clarkson
At first, things didn't seem to look too good for America's first "Idol" winner. Shortly after obtaining the now illustrious crown, Kelly Clarkson co-starred in the 2003 film "From Justin to Kelly" with "Idol" loser Justin Guarini - may he rest in peace. The film turned out to be a flop of epic proportions. But the talented singer endured long enough to obtain new management and release the 2004 multi-platinum album "Breakaway," which featured 5 hit singles including the monster track "Since U Been Gone." While past "Idol" winners (and Clay Aiken) have gone on to earn platinum-selling albums, Clarkson is the only "Idol" to receive the biggest musical career legitimizer there is -- two Grammy awards. We'd like to see Simon Cowell badmouth that!

Despite being deprived of her voice, Jessica Simpson -- along with her mother Tina -- whooped it up something serious last night in Manhattan's urban playground, the Meatpacking District.
After an earlier engagement at the Roxy for a Yahoo! roller-skating party, Jessica and sister Ashlee and their mama made a stop at the swank and exclusive G Spa Lounge at the Hotel Gansevoort, and then took things a little lower-key by popping over just steps away to the Hog Pit, where pool and Pabst Blue Ribbon are the order of the night. The pop princess was spotted hugging Johnny Knoxville inside the dive bar with an unusually tight cling to the "The Ringers" star's T-shirt. Unfortunately, Jessica and mom left before Johnny had a chance to teach her how to shoot some stick.
Where this girls' night out ended up next is anyone's guess.

It was another action-packed weekend in LA as TMZ's cameras hit the street for an exciting weekend version of Star Catcher.
Outside Hollywood hot spot Hyde, we ran into "Girl Next Door" star Elisha Cuthbert with her boyfriend, Los Angeles Kings player Sean Avery. The hockey star seemed a little overprotective of his blonde bombshell, going so far as to give an autograph seeker the evil eye and a few choice words.
Christina Aguilera was spotted heading into Les Deux sporting her platinum blonde look and dressed to impress. The Grammy winning pop star showed up to the trendy spot with her standard "large" entourage getting out of a white Bentley and setting off flashbulbs.
Also out on the town over the weekend were Mary-Kate Olsen, Sean Lennon, "Jackass" star Johnny Knoxville, Josh Charles, and funny man David Spade
All this and much more in this weekend version of Star Catcher.

The filmmaking Farrellys, known for their gleeful bad taste in irreverent comedies such as "There's Something About Mary," are taking on the Special Olympics. Johnny Knoxville of "Jackass" fame is the star.
"The Ringer" sounds like a politically incorrect disaster -- but the Special Olympics couldn't be happier.
Knoxville plays a mild-mannered workaday chap who, in a desperate bid for cash, agrees to go along with his smarmy uncle's underhanded plan: he'll feign a mental disability in an attempt to rig the Special Olympics.
"Come on, a normal guy against a bunch of feebs? You'll look like Carl freakin' Lewis out there," says the uncle.
No wonder it took nearly seven years to get the movie made.
But after a long courtship, the Special Olympics decided "The Ringer" could humanize their athletes and add a new cachet of cool to their organization.
