Lane Garrison, who was serving prison time for a drunk driving crash that caused the death of 17-year-old Vahagn Setian, was released early this morning.
Garrison, who only served about half of his 40 month sentence for vehicular manslaughter, was granted early release because he had earned enough "good-behavior credits."
The former "Prison Break" star must now report to an in-patient rehab center.

Lane Garrison has reached a financial settlement with the parents of the 17-year-old kid he killed in a drunken car crash back in 2006.
We've also learned the former "Prison Break" star has reached a financial settlement with one of the survivors of the crash, Michelle Ohana.
The exact amount that he paid both parties is confidential.
Garrison is still behind bars, serving out his 40 month sentence for vehicular manslaughter and two other alcohol related charges.
The parents of Vahagn Setian had filed a civil suit against the actor last year -- demanding payment for wrongful death and gross negligence.
Ohana, who was 15 at the time of the crash, was injured so badly, she spent the following 2 months in a wheelchair.

Lane Garrison will be in court tomorrow for sentencing in the DUI accident that killed a Beverly Hills High student -- and the victim's friends and family are seeking the maximum penalty.
Friends of 17-year old Vahagn Setian were outside a Beverly Hills court today -- along with other students and a spokesperson for the Setian family -- to present 3,600 signatures to the judge, each demanding he be sentenced to serve six years and eight months for vehicular manslaughter, DUI and providing alcohol to a minor.
A student and close friend, Alexa, read a statement to the press, pleading, "To do anything else sends a terrible message to young people, the community and others who drink and drive."

TMZ has obtained letters written to Judge Elden Fox from Lane Garrison and his sister, Amelia pleading for mercy.
In two separate documents, the Garrison siblings give the judge a rundown of their tragic history.
In the sad letter written by Amelia, a family history of violence and alcohol abuse is described. Amelia says her family was so dysfunctional, she attempted to take her own life at the age of 10. Lane tried to gain custody of Amelia when he was 17, but he was deemed too young by the court to care for her. On two separate occasions, Amelia says she had to administer CPR to both her parents, who were unconscious.
Garrison's mother and father are both deceased.

Lane Garrison's first words on the stand, "I relive that night every day, and I think about the bad decisions I made."
Garrison went on, addressing Vahagn's parents, "All I can say to you is that I'm sorry. I tried to contact you every day. This PSA was not a publicity stunt." Garrison went on, "I don't want this to happen to anyone. We should think about our actions."
Garrison continued, "We can't bring him back, but I'm sorry for my behavior that evening and that is not representative of who I am usually."
Garrison added, "I also want to apologize to my family and friends for putting them through this."

TMZ was at a Los Angeles County Superior Court in Beverly Hills this morning when Lane Garrison arrived to court.
Our cameras also filmed friends of the victim, 17-year-old Vahagn Setian, as they walked into court. They told our cameras they thought Lane should get the "maximum" penalty and that Lane should have personally apologized to the family of the victim.
Lane is in court today for sentencing. During today's hearing, Garrison will endure grueling victim's impact statements from Setian's friends and family.

Childhood friends Jessica Simpson and Lane Garrison had lunch together Friday afternoon -- but when it came time to leave, Jessica stayed a few steps behind ... avoiding a photo?
The pals dined at Senor Fred, a trendy Mexican restaurant in glamorous Sherman Oaks. Lane and Jess go way back -- Jessica's dad was Lane's family minister and he even lived with the Simpson clan for almost a year.
Last month, Garrison plead guilty to one count of vehicular manslaughter, one count of felony DUI with bodily injury and one misdemeanor count of providing alcohol to a minor. His sentencing is scheduled for August 2 and he faces five years and eight months in prison.
Let's hope they talked about lighter subject over lunch.

"Prison Break" star Lane Garrison just went front and center in a Beverly Hills court on charges of vehicular manslaughter, but the actor neither copped to the charges nor said the charges were bogus -- Garrison did not enter a plea.
Judge Eldon Fox pushed the formal arraignment to April 11.
Garrison faces one felony charge of vehicular manslaughter, along with three other charges stemming from a tragic Beverly Hills car crash last December that left one of his three teenage passengers dead.
If convicted, Garrison faces six years in prison.
The D.A. had asked that Garrison be released on $200,000 bail, but that amount was reduced to $100K.
Judge Fox ordered that Garrison refrain from driving a vehicle. Garrison was also told he couldn't drink alcoholic beverages and he couldn't have contact with any victims or witnesses in the case.
Moments after he left court, Garrison surrendered to authorities at the Beverly Hills Police Station, where he was fingerprinted and photographed.
The 26-year-old actor was behind the wheel when his Land Rover crashed into a tree on December 2, killing 17-year-old Vahagn Setian. He met Setian and two 15-year-old girls hours before the crash, and the teens invited the actor to a party. TMZ was the first to report that witnesses at the party saw Garrison drink between four and seven shots of Grey Goose vodka in a short period of time, and that they saw him snort cocaine at the same party.

Lane Garrison has just been charged with vehicular manslaughter in connection with a fatal car crash in Beverly Hills in December that left one of his three teenage passengers dead.
TMZ was the first to report the charges, which along with felony vehicular manslaughter, include "driving under the influence causing injury to multiple victims," "driving with a .08 percent blood alcohol level causing injury" and "furnishing alcohol to a minor." The DUI counts alleged that Garrison was driving with a blood alcohol level of more than .15 percent.
Garrison is scheduled to voluntarily turn himself over to authorities sometime in the next two hours.
If convicted, Garrison faces a maximum of 6 years in prison.

TMZ has learned that Lane Garrison will be charged today with vehicular manslaughter, a felony.
Garrison was at the wheel last December when he plowed into a tree in Beverly Hills. Vahagn Setian, a 17-year-old high school student who was a passenger in the car, was killed.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney will also charge Garrison with driving under the influence. He will also be charged with providing alcohol to a minor.
Garrison's lawyer, Harland Braun, tells TMZ his client has arranged with the D.A. to voluntarily surrender to the court at 1:30 PM. We're told the D.A. will ask for $200,000 bail.
We're told Garrison's blood-alcohol level was .20, more than twice the legal limit.
Significantly, the D.A. is not alleging Garrison acted with "gross negligence." That's important because the enhancement of gross negligence would increase the maximum prison time.
If convicted, Garrison faces a maximum of 6 years in prison.

Lane Garrison got chauffeured around Tinseltown yesterday in his shiny new ride -- a delightfully orange Los Angeles bus.
The "Prison Break" star had to resort to that bugaboo of all L.A. commuters -- public transportation -- to get from point A to point B yesterday, as he's been stripped of driving privileges following his December 2 accident in which one teenager was killed and two others injured.
The Beverly Hills Police Department has recommended that Garrison be charged with gross vehicular manslaughter, which carries a maximum sentence of ten years in prison.
Garrison has also been spotted seeking deliverance in a couple other ways -- on foot and via a higher power.
