Comedian Dane Cook used MySpace to garner millions of techno-savvy fans across the country -- but unfortunately recruited a legion of Dane-haters in the process. TMZ ran into the love-him-or-hate-him funnyman outside the Laugh Factory last night -- where he was kidding around with the Dane devotees.
Dane cracked jokes and messed with photo-needy fans -- and at one point pulled a fake diva moment about an autograph seeker's pen, saying, "Where the f**k is the blue, man? Dane Cook signs with blue."
7-Up's old front man, comedian Godfrey Danchimah, was confronted outside the Laugh Factory last night, but it was no laughing matter!
The green comedian had been spittin' game to a girl who claimed to be single -- then her boyfriend showed up! He started talkin' smack to Godfrey -- who wasn't in the mood to take any crap -- and called the guy a "corny ass, West Coast, L.A., shiny shoe wearin', tight jean mother ..." And that was the end of that!
Godfrey took one more shot, saying, "I like ass like everybody else does, but you know what, it's not that serious." 7-Up yours!
Just a month after he was banned for three months from the Laugh Factory for violating the club's ban on the N-word, Damon Wayans is set to return to the stage tonight, apparently getting a "Get Out of Ban Free" card from owner Jamie Masada.
The N-word embargo was imposed after the Michael Richards incident on November 17. In December, Wayans' publicist told TMZ about the ban after Damon used it 16 times on stage and was fined and banned.
Wayans is billed as part of an "All Star Week." No word on what material he has planned for the gig.
Mired in the backlash from the Michael Richards incident and the subsequent banning of the N word from his club, Laugh Factory owner Jamie Masada took out a full-page ad in today's Variety, addressed to his "family of comics."
Masada mentioned the charity work his club has done, and pointed out how he was honored by the ACLU for his commitment to the First Amendment. He then addressed the Michael Richards incident and his club's reaction to it:
"I draw the line when it comes to intolerance," he said, "and my stage will never again be a platform for hateful speech. It is my hope that other comedy clubs will join me and the Laugh Factory in our stance against hateful speech." For Masada, this is clearly no laughing matter.
The Laugh Factory put comedians who perform there on notice -- each time you use the N-word on stage, you'll get fined $20 and banned from the club for three months. Noticeably absent from the Laugh Factory proclamation is a similar penalty for other racial slurs.
Michael Richards' racist rant at the Laugh Factory clearly put the heat on the comedy club. But did they really get the message? We called the flack for the Laugh Factory and asked if they would nail comedians who used words "kike" or "spic." We have not heard back from the club, but we'd like to hear from you.
Whats the deal with Michael Richards? The former "Senifeld" star unleashed a tirade of racial slurs toward a group of African-American audience members who heckled the "comedian." Warning: This video is profane and racial. Maybe Beyonce hates the crowded conditions of the Area nightclub, or perhaps she was just tuckered out from slaughtering defenseless animals for her fur coats. Whatever the reason, it didn't stop her man Jay-Z from having fun while Beyonce sat in the car for 40 minutes, presumably adjusting the stereo pre-sets.
