Even Lauren Conrad realizes there's more to life than "The Hills."
TMZ has learned LC is giving up the surfboard she won at this year's Teen Choice Awards for living her life on TV to someone a lot more deserving -- a 13-year-old Leukemia patient who was up for the $100,000 Do Something Award and lost.
Conrad met the kid, Pat Pedraja, at a Teen Choice pre-party Saturday where she presented him with $10,000 check from Do Something for his work recruiting bone marrow donors from minorities across the country.
We hear she personally slipped him an iPod Touch she filled with her favorite music. It ain't $100,000 bucks -- but we're working with a reality TV budget here.

Lauren Conrad might spend her life around some really big bitches, but lil' ones just won't do.
Sources tell TMZ that LC got $20,000 -- yeah, we know -- to make an appearance and walk the runway at Animal Fair mag's "Paws for Style" event last night in NYC. She did the whole red carpet thing.
But, when it came time to do the runway, our spies say she threw "a hissy fit" and "stormed off" in tears, refusing to prance down the catwalk with a dog. We're told LC claims she didn't know anything about the walkin' the dog.
Her rep couldn't be reached immediately for comment.

Audrina from"The Hills" may be catty but she's not homeless!
Reports swirled yesterday saying the reality star was moving out of LC's pad, after moving vans were spotted outside the house they share. But TMZ has learned that the moving vans were for prop furniture for a photo shoot Lauren was doing. Apparently everything "The Hills" girls do is fake.
It turns out Audrina wasn't even home at the time.

In a move more transparent than a chick wearing white in a wet t-shirt contest, Lauren Conrad and Audrina Patridge set up an obvious PR stunt last night to "prove" they're still friends.
It's been forever since they've gone anywhere together -- and this move, coming just one day after TMZ broke the story the two were involved in a backyard rumble over an OK! magazine photo shoot, is definitely a little suspect.

The fake drama has finally turned real! After LC came home last week to find a weekly mag doing a photo shoot with Audrina in the house they share, the claws were out!
Our spies say Lauren threw the hissy (stomping, the works) because she'd already promised exclusive pics of the backyard to another mag. Never mind that Audrina pays rent to her and had gotten the OK from LC's rep who, apparently, forget to clue their client in.
A spy on the set called it "uncomfortable" -- ya think? -- and Audrina hurried through the shoot to get the heck out of Dodge.
