They just did it -- Nike has finally decided to give back the tapes they confiscated showing LeBron James getting dunked on by a college kid.
Nike henchmen took the tapes from two accredited journalists moments after Xavier's Jordan Crawford threw it down on King James at his Nike sponsored summer skills camp earlier this month.
The decision to take the tapes ignited a huge controversy and speculation that the Swoosh didn't want LeBron, a huge Nike spokesperson, to be seen in a bad light.
Nike claims it only snatched the tapes based on a policy that no pickup games be filmed.
But now -- 2 days after TMZ released the first copy of the dunk -- Nike is finally doing the right thing. However, it's unclear when they will hand the tapes back to the journalists.

It's the first time we've seen LeBron James since the once-confiscated tape of him being dunked on hit the web -- but just because it's out there doesn't mean dude was ready to talk about it last night in front of Koi.

It's the footage you've been waiting for -- the tape LeBron James tried to destroy -- the moment King James gets slam dunked on by an amateur!!!!!!!!
Here's the back story -- LeBron had a bunch of basketball prospects over at his LeBron James Skills Academy camp earlier this month.
LJ joined in on a pick-up game during the camp, when Jordan Crawford -- a 20-year-old baller from Xavier University -- got the rock and decided to go right after LeBron, soaring right over the all-star and delivering a nasty two-handed slam in front of everyone!
Several media outlets reported that LeBron and Nike -- who sponsored the camp -- sent henchmen to confiscate tapes from anyone who may have been recording the dunk, fearing the footage would cause some serious damage to LeBron's image.
But one copy survived -- and the tape proves all the reports are true ... LeBron is human after all, and Jordan Crawford was the guy who proved it.

The guy who ignited a media firestorm when the tapes of his two-handed dunk on LeBron James were confiscated is finally speaking out about our soon-to-be exposed footage of the moment he crushed King James:
Here's the official statement from Xavier sophomore Jordan Crawford: "I am excited to see the tape along with my family and Xavier teammates.
It was a great honor to be one of the 25 college players invited to the LeBron James Skill Academy and I am very appreciative of Nike for this opportunity.
Competing on the court with perhaps the best player in the world was a great experience and it's raised my level of excitement for the upcoming college basketball season."

LeBron James is good and he has no problem reminding people about it.
A few days after slyly pointing out to people he won the Most Valuable Player award, King James was spotted in St. Tropez yesterday directing people to his bank account for further affirmation of his supremacy.
Humility is overrated.

Kobe Bryant just made us eat a fat spoonful of our own words -- after we were dumb enough to throw the following line in our LeBron James post this morning:
"For the record -- you won't see Kobe Bryant wearing a shirt with his individual accomplishments plastered on the front of it during his championship parade today -- he's gonna let the trophy do the talking."
It's Kobe. We should have known better.

The stage is finally set for the Los Angeles Lakers $2 million victory parade -- and TMZ has locked down photos of the incredible scene ... before the chaos ensues.
The parade hasn't even begun yet -- and injuries have already been reported along the parade route. Plus, the S.W.A.T. team is already on scene to keep the peace, this according to our friends at KLAC radio.
Should be fun...

Overcompensation -- noun -- excessive reaction to a feeling of inferiority, guilt, or inadequacy leading to an exaggerated attempt to overcome the feeling ... especially when someone expected to win the NBA championship doesn't even make the finals.
LeBron James rocked this egotistical t-shirt during a shopping break in N.Y. yesterday.
For the record -- you won't see Kobe Bryant wearing a shirt with his individual accomplishments plastered on the front of it during his championship parade today -- he's gonna let the trophy do the talking.

This is just plain ridiculous.
LeBron James made another one of those insane trick shots at practice yesterday -- except he hit this one from way BEHIND the goal!!
He did miss twice before sinking it -- so maybe he's human after all.

It's a clash of the titan egos as Lebron James looks forward to putting some serious money where Charles Barkley's mouth is.
The Cleveland Cavalier is calling Charles Barkley "stupid," firing back at remarks that Charles Barkley recently made saying James needs to "shut the hell up" because he isn't showing respect for Cleveland fans and his teammates by discussing a possible free agency following the 2010 season.
But hey -- with the Knicks clearing up some salary-cap space in anticipation of the 2010 free-agent status, it's easy to see how Barkley's sideline advice might fall on deaf ears.

If LeBron James' Cleveland Cavaliers were still alive in the playoffs, he'd be in Cleveland right now getting ready to lose to the Lakers.
Instead, he's in L.A. hitting hotspots like the Ivy and Katsuya. No wonder he laughed when someone asked him about being out of the playoffs -- where would you rather be?
