Britney Spears' former BFF has filed legal papers in his defamation lawsuit against Britney and her parents, claiming they have ruined his life.
Sam Lutfi claims Lynne Spears'book about her famous daughter is a pack of lies, especially the part in which she says Sam told her he secretly ground up pills and put them in Britney's food.
Lutfi says as a result of the book, "I am constantly in fear for my life..." He says he was "harassed and cajoled by the public." If our memory serves us correctly, Lutfi was cajoled long before Lynne's book was published.
Lutfi trotted out his own cast of character witnesses in the new legal docs -- notably the infamous Adnan Ghalib -- currently being prosecuted for felony battery. Adnan wrote a declaration, claiming Lynne's assertions that Sam was effectively holding Britney hostage were false.
Sam Lutfi has filed a lawsuit against Britney Spears and her parents, Jamie and Lynne, claiming they defamed him and also alleging Britney lived in fear of her father.
In his lawsuit filed today, Sam boldly claims, "Resentful of Lynne and afraid of Jamie's controlling, violent, and often unpredictable behavior, Britney began inquiring about obtaining restraining orders against Jamie and Lynne." It was under those circumstances that Sam met, and eventually worked for, Britney.
Sam goes on to accuse Jamie of physically assaulting him. He says he was standing in Britney's kitchen on January 29, 2008 when Jamie stormed into the house. Lutfi alleges Jamie yelled at him, claiming Sam made a rude comment to Lynne the night before. Then, Sam claims, Jamie "intentionally punched him in the chest" and threatened to kill him if he ever heard Sam make a rude comment about Lynne or any member of the Spears family again.
All the claims of libel and defamation spring from Lynne's book, "Through the Storm." Lutfi says since the publication of the book, he "has been subjected to unfathomable amounts of ridicule and public scorn."
Lutfi also claims Britney broke a contract with him and owes him unpaid management fees. He claims he had an oral agreement with Spears to be her manager for four years, earning 15% commission.
Last Friday, Britney got a restraining order against Lutfi and Adnan Ghalib, barring them from having any contact with her, her parents or her kids.
TMZ has just obtained declarations from Jamie Spears and others in the latest Britney Spears case -- Britney's lawyer says Sam Lutfi had inserted himself and tried peddling false and hurtful info about Jamie, Britney and others in her family.
Sam allegedly was calling lawyers saying that Britney wanted to hire her own lawyer, presumably to fight the conservatorship. Sources tell TMZ that is definitely not what Britney wanted.
As we first reported, the conservators for Britney Spears obtained a restraining order today against Sam Lutfi, Adnan Ghalib and attorney Jon Eardley. We're told Brit herself is furious at Lutfi and Ghalib and would like to see them jailed.
Here's the most interesting part....According to the legal papers, late last month Lutfi sent text messages to Brit's hairdresser, saying he wasn't responsible for the conservatorship. A week or so later, Britney received "instant messages from a person with the screen name ____....The person -- who posed as the mother of a daughter with autism -- made a number of utterly false and hurtful assertions concerning Mr. Spears and his family, threatening to go public with such purported 'information' unless Mr. Spears spoke with that person." Almost immediately after Brit got those messages, Lutfi began calling Jamie.
We've learned Britney Spears conservators have just obtained a restraining order against Sam Lutfi and Adnan Ghalib.
Britney's lawyers went to court this morning to obtain the injunction.
A source close to the conservatorship tells TMZ Britney asked her conservators to "protect her from Sam and Adnan." We've also learned Britney told her conservators she was afraid of them both and hoped they could be locked up in jail.
A source tells TMZ the conservators believe Lutfi and Ghalib conspired to try and undermine Britney's conservatorship in a way that would have been extremely harmful to her. We're also told attorney Jon Eardley -- the dude Lutfi used early last year to mount a bizarre, baseless attack on the conservatorship -- was allegedly also in on the conspiracy and the TRO is against him as well.
A 53-year-old Lynne Spears (left) held her 4-month-old granddaughter Maddie Briann (center), while Maddie's 17-year-old mom Jamie Lynn (right) looked on in amazement yesterday. All three women are currently unmarried.
Don't go comparin' Lynne Spears to Sarah Palin, at least to Utah Senator Orrin Hatch. True, Lynne and Sarah both have had to deal with knocked up teenage daughters. Both live in the hinterlands. Both have 70's hair. Ridiculous, says Orrin.
Britney Spears is a famously bad driver and it may be an inherited trait.
According to the Enquirer, in 1975 Lynne hit and killed a 12-year-old boy who was riding his bike in Kentwood. The article says Lynne was driving her brother to the hospital when the incident occurred.
A rep for Lynne told the tabloid "It bothers Lynne still to this day," adding, "She really doesn't like to talk about it. She just wanted to forget that it ever happened -- but she can't."
Looking tan and unrested, Lynne Spears arrived at LAX after spending time in Kentwood with her unwed teen mother of a daughter Jamie Lynn. The 53-year-old returned to L.A. to tend to her 26-year-old little bundle of conservatorship joy. At least her son Bryan hasn't gone off the deep end or gotten pregnant!
Mama Lynne wanted to help cool off photogs yesterday after leaving the gym with Brit Brit. Maybe she should have thrown that cold water on Jamie Lynn's boyfriend, Casey ... like six months ago.
Though Mel "King of Malibu" Gibson was nowhere to be seen, Britney and her family went to Spears' other 'hood last night for an intimate dinner at Paradise Cove Beach Cafe.
Britney was joined (and blocked) by her mom, dad, and at least 20 flash-happy photogs.
Britney Spears' paparazzo boyfriend, Adnan Ghalib, must have gotten on papa Jamie Spears' good side -- he somehow managed to get past the gates at Brit's Summit house.
After a shopping trip with mom and a rigorous dance workout at Millennium Dance Complex in North Hollywood yesterday, Brit retreated to her home in the hills, where Adnan breezed past guards at the gate around 8:00 PM.
The Spears parents made their rounds yesterday, first spending time with Britney at UCLA Medical Center, then last night they drove to K-Fed's house to visit the grandbabies. Mama Spears clearly didn't want any attention as she crouched in the passenger seat to avoid photogs.
This is the most normal the Spears clan has looked in a while -- now that papa is in the driver's seat -- literally!
The Christian publishers of Lynne Spears' "delayed indefinitely" memoir, "Pop Culture Mom," are going forward with the book, but insist it's not a parenting how-to -- it's a warning! Thomas Nelson publishing released a statement on their website saying, "Lynne's memoir will provide a window into the real-life world of fame and worldly success, including the toll it extracts (sic) from some who aspire to it. It will provide a much-needed corrective to a world obsessed with the wrong priorities." Sounds like a perfect gift for Britney.
The statement goes on to say, "We believe in redemption. Therefore, we are standing with Lynne and her family during this difficult time. Though the book has been delayed, we believe God is at work. The story is still being written, and we are confident in His ability to turn ashes into beauty. (Isaiah 61:3) " Maybe Jamie Lynn's pregnancy is a virgin birth!
While they are still going forward with the parenting how-not-to memoir, a rep for Thomas Nelson told TMZ, "(the) Book is still delayed indefinitely with no set release date."
