A few uninvited vermin had Whitney Port running for the door of her own apartment -- and no, we're not talking about a visit from Speidi.
TMZ has learned "The City" star put herself up in two different swanky NYC hotels this week after she and BFF Joanna Scapa found an unwelcome party of mice creepin' around her pad.
We're told the gals didn't even bother to change out of their PJs -- immediately booking it to the Cooper Square Hotel while still in their jammies.
Whitney's been waiting it out there and at the nearby Bowery Hotel ever since.
She'll return home once exterminators finish doing their thing.

We tried to ask Shawn Johnson if she'd seen that whole Topo Gigio mess, but she vaulted over the question like the gold medalist she is.
Hey, we had to go there -- she was standing right outside the Ed Sullivan Theater, after all.

After getting hundreds of hate emails, phone calls, and rage-filled comments over the last 24 hours, we at TMZ finally took the hint -- not everybody found the Shawn Johnson/Topo Gigio comparison hilarious. Sure, we'll eat the crow you shoved down our throats -- but you gotta check out some of the messages we got in our "contact us" mailbox. We even got a letter from an official Team USA Gymnastics rep!
Yes, we got the message loud and clear, but make sure to click through to the final email -- the one that started this whole mess in the first place.

Nothing conveys your designer boytoy status like an expensive piece of jewelry -- made with a dead mouse? Marc Jacobs' starf***er, Jason Preston, showed up for a recent New York fashion event -- with a deceased rodent brooch.
According to spywitnesses, Jacob's arm candy said he couldn't take it off because "Courtney gave it to me,"-- as in dragalicious Courtney Love. When you start taking accessory advice from Courtney Love, and you're dating one of the world's biggest designers, you might want to rethink your priorities. Marc, Jason and Courtney -- equals three tacky, insane, blind mice.

Koi was so celeb-less last night, TMZ's photog was forced to make a star out of a different kind of vermin -- a mouse rummaging for food on the street. Welcome to this edition of TMZ's Mouse Catcher!
No doubt feeling the mouse backlash after the successful opening weekend of rat-starrer "Ratatouille," the rodent made a run for it after feeling the disapproving glow of our camera's light.
Calls to the mouse's rep were unreturned.
