Ben & Matt -- Not Like Family, They ARE Family

We all thought it, but it's actually true -- Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are related. How do you like them apples?

Ben Affleck, Matt Damon

The New England Historic Genealogical Society concluded the Oscar-winning man-friends are actually 10th cousins ... once removed, the Boston Herald reports. They share a common 10th great-grandfather, William Knowlton of Ipswich, a bricklayer who died in 1655.

It also turns out Ben is an 11th cousin to Barack Obama and Matt is related to "six or seven" presidents.

What a family gathering that would make.

Bruce Willis' Oscar Ambitions Die Hard

There's no debating the guy can make a kick-ass action flick -- but when Bruce Willis told photogs yesterday he's "doubtful" his movies will ever get him an Academy Award, did he have a point?

Diablo Cody -- Hollywood Golden Girl

In "Juno" screenwriter Diablo Cody's case, winning an Oscar really does change everything ... about yourself.

Honest to blog, she's gone from goth to glam.

How Much for That 'Slumdog' Kid in the Window?

Slumdog Millionaire - Rubina AliBeing part of an Oscar winning movie can up your asking price in Hollywood. Apparently it can also up your asking price should your father decide to try and sell you.

Rubina Ali
, the nine-year-old girl who was featured prominently in the Oscar winning "Slumdog Millionaire," was offered up for sale by her father to undercover reporters working for News of the World, the paper is reporting.

The young child star's asking price was roughly $295,000. According to the paper, the price started off much lower when he first began negotiating the deal. Maybe the father forgot to take DVD sales into account.

UPDATE -- Rubina's dad is flatly denying the whole thing, telling the BBC News it was just a "dirty" operation by News of the World.

J-Hud Gives Up on Chi-town

Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson learned the hard way that Beyoncé and Anika Noni Rose make for better singing partners than random fans in Chicago.

Hudson was in her hometown yesterday as Mayor Richard Daley proclaimed it Jennifer Hudson Day. When Hudson broke into song, she looked to the crowd to sing along with her. "Y'all want to help me out?" she asked. Apparently the answer was "No."

She held out the mic and when no one piped up, Hudson asked, "Where y'all at, Chicago?" Again met with silence, Hudson ended her number with a simple, "Well, that's enough."

Liza Goes Skater, Dude

Liza Minnelli has an Oscar, a Tony and an Emmy -- now she wants to add a Gold Medal from the X Games to her mantle.

The normally hyper-eyelashed icon looked like she was ditching the cabaret stage for a skatepark when she showed up at LAX on Wednesday, sans makeup and showing off her skater gear. Rad.

It looks like Liza has made the full transition into skate culture by getting tattooed ... eyebrows.

Gere, Berry Are Next Hasty Pudding Recipients

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Richard Gere and Halle Berry are this year's recipients of the annual Hasty Pudding awards, given by a student drama group at Harvard University.

The awards, announced Thursday, are given to performers who have made a "lasting and impressive contribution to the world of entertainment," by Hasty Pudding Theatricals, the nation's oldest undergraduate drama troupe.

Berry will lead a parade through the streets of Harvard Square on Feb. 16, with students dressed in drag.

Berry, 39, won an Oscar and a SAG award for her performance in "Monster's Ball." She also earned an Emmy for her performance in the HBO film "Introducing Dorothy Dandridge."

Berry will reprise her role as Storm in "X3," the third installment in the "X-Men" series, due May 26.

Gere, 56, won a Golden Globe for best comedy-musical actor, for "Chicago." His other work includes "An Officer and a Gentleman," "American Gigolo," "Internal Affairs" and "Pretty Woman."

Gere is also the founder of the Gere Foundation, which contributes to health education and human rights projects and is dedicated to promoting awareness of Tibet's endangered culture.

Last year's recipients were Catherine Zeta-Jones and Tim Robbins.
