PDA PSA

blackBerry/Palm/Windows MobileAwww, Daylight Savings Time, when the day never seems to end. Are you PDA-ready?

Unfortunately, the new Daylight Savings Time changes (it's been extended from March 11 to November 4) may leave your smart phone out of sync with the rest of the nation after this weekend. No one wants to be late for a barbecue because their PDA hasn't been upgraded with the latest patch!

So head on over to your smart phone's OS website -- and update your gizmo before the Sunday morning time change makes you late.

TV in the "Palm" of Your Hand

Sling Box / Palm 700PSling Media and Palm have joined forces to replace Google Maps as the number one Palm OS application. Sure, staring at satellite images of your house on your phone is cool, but imagine watching "Heroes," "Lost," or "The Hello Kitty Adventure Hour" on your Treo -- from virtually anywhere.

Sling Media will be releasing SlingPlayer Mobile for the Palm OS, making it possible to watch television on the 3-G enabled Treo 700P smartphone. The software should be available during the first quarter of 2007. Sling Media's Slingbox gives users the ability to watch live TV or DVR stored media from anywhere, via the internet, right to their PC or Sling Media enabled device.

The next time your co-workers are talking about the Dwight Schrute's latest misadventures at work, you can link up your Treo 700P to your DVR via the Slingbox at home and relive those moments together.

Nick LacheyYou think your phone is cool? Well Nick Lachey would say different.

Turns out Nick loves his Palm Treo. We mean really LOVES it. He loves his Treo so much that he got the 10th Anniversary Treo Black Tie Edition version of the phone. Only 2,000 worldwide were produced.

The phone has a polished chrome framework that shines against the the black backdrop and has a soft-touch finish. The phone also came with a special bundle that includes a hard case and multi-functional stylus.

Nick isn't the only celebrity with a Treo fetish -- "Lost" star Josh Holloway also snatched up the limited edition phone before they sold out.

So next time you see Nick and you want to show off your phone, beware: Nick rolls large with the Black Tie Treo.
