P!nk To the Rescue!

Recently singled singer P!nk tried her darndest to save a stray pup yesterday on an L.A. freeway.

Unfortunately, the animal was so frightened it ran away from the modern-day hero and down a freeway ramp. Why would the poor canine be so frightened by P!nk? She's so, er, soft and tender.

Here's hoping the little doggie scampered off to safety -- and doesn't wind up dead in her pool.

Rescue Me, Miley Cyrus!

New "Nashville Star" host Billy Ray and paycheck daughter Miley Cyrus have gone too far this time. The pair rescued a lost dog yesterday and cared for the pup 'til the pooch was safely returned to its home. Gag us with a dog bowl!

Who do they think they are, Brangelina?!? Hopefully they picked up this dog's poop!

PETA Talks Dogs

TMZ contacted PETA to get their expert opinion on the whole Ellen vs. Mutts and Moms ordeal, and the animal protection group is standing by Ellen!

PETA said, "At a time when so many people in Hollywood, like Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, are making impetuous "pet" purchases, PETA commends Ellen for adopting a homeless animal from a shelter rather than buying a dog. Every animal purchased from a pet store is a virtual death sentence for an animal desperately waiting in a shelter for a home."
