Mike Tyson's explosive run-in with a paparazzo at LAX last week is now in the hands of L.A. prosecutors ... sources tell TMZ.
We've learned the LAPD sent the case to the Los Angeles City Attorney this morning. We're told the City Attorney has conducted a preliminary investigation but has not decided whether to charge Tyson and/or the papper, Tony Echevarria, with criminal battery.
We're told the City Attorney wants to see the video the photog shot when the fight broke out.
Both Tyson and Echevarria were arrested. Tyson says the photog made contact with the stroller carrying his baby and he struck the dude in self defense.
Famed photog Annie Leibovitz has managed to stave off losing her entire legendary portfolio -- but there's still the pesky matter of the $24 million she owes.
Leibovitz got so deep into financial debt, she took out the loan last year and put up her homes -- and her entire photo library -- as collateral.
Art Capital Group has agreed to withdraw its lawsuit against Leibovitz for failing to pay back her loan on time. They've agreed to restructure their agreement and push back the due date -- which was last Tuesday.
He's famous for making stupid decisions -- and last night in New York, Hugh Grant screwed up again ... going from smiley guy to angry thug in one foul kick.
As Grant was leaving the Waverly Inn -- a well-known celebrity and paparazzi hang-out in NY -- the actor engaged the snappers in what seemed to be a little friendly banter. But when our guy tried to innocently point Grant in the right direction to get a cab, Hugh suddenly turned and put his boot right in our photog's "groin."
Ain't that just Divine.
This ain't the first time Hugh kicked a photog -- back in '07, dude was arrested for an attack in London. Those charges were eventually dropped.
Kanye West'slawyer went to court today and won a delay for West's arraignment for smashing a photog's gear.
The famous Blair Berk reps Kanye, who is charged with vandalism, battery and grand theft -- stemming from a tussle with two photogs at LAX last year. Kanye's manager, Don Crowley, is also charged with two counts of vandalism, two counts of battery and two counts of grand theft. He's repped by prominent defense attorney Shawn Chapman Holley, who wore a yellow pinstriped pant suit to court -- with a necklace.
Bond on both defendants was exonerated because they do not have criminal records and promised to appear for their arraignments.
The incident occurred on September 11, 2008. A TMZ cameraman captured the confrontation ... Kanye can clearly be seen smashing the photog's flash to the ground.
Kanye could get up to 2 1/2 years in jail if convicted on all counts. Crowley could get five years.
Berk and Holley could end up squaring off with TMZ, since our camera got wrecked during the attack. We're only slightly scared...
Heather Mills has had quite enough, thank you, of the paparazzi stalking her every move -- and she finally hit her cracking point yesterday. Paul McCartney's estranged wife went crazy on a photographer in London yesterday by screaming and yelling -- even going so far as to kick the cameraman -- all while videotaping the incident herself!
It's not clear what set the former model off balance, but her freakout might land her in yet another lawsuit. Rumors have it that she and Paul are close to a $50 million settlement in their nasty split.
Sienna Miller kicked up her heels yesterday -- to let a photog have it! The "Factory Girl" star was headed into a NYC building when she was ambushed by flashes, but instead of her usual smile and duck technique, Miss Miller opted for a camera shove perfected by her ex, Jude Law.
Sienna's technique scores a 7 on the freakout scale, but she definitely loses style points for wearing white boots with black jeans.
