Richard Heene had a well-documented criminal history with a common thread -- going ballistic under pressure.
First of all, we've now found three criminal cases against Balloon Dad. In 1984, Heene was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon -- a gun -- and received three years probation.
In 1991, in San Bernardino, CA., Heene was arrested for corporal injury on a spouse. It appears he was not convicted.
Now get this ... we broke the story yesterday that in 1997 Heene pled no contest to vandalism and spent four days in jail. Wait 'til you hear what happened.
Heene, a contractor at the time, had an employee who didn't get paid. The employee went to Heene's home to get his $300 and an argument ensued.
We're told Heene got physical with the guy inside the house, the employee walked out and Heene gave him $140 of the $300 he owed. The employee, Benito Ortiz, was dissatisfied and the argument continued.
According to the arrest report, Heene got in his pickup truck, backed up and apparently tried to hit the dude. The employee got out of harm's way and Heene struck the employee's VW.
After hitting the VW, Heene pulled forward several feet, then put the vehicle back in reverse and collided again with Ortiz.
But wait, there's more. Heene did it a third time.
Finally, Heene parked, got out of his truck, picked up a wooden beam, held it over his head and screamed at Ortiz, "Get the f**k away."
Heene later told cops .... during the conflict Ortiz struck him, he became "incoherent" and didn't know what happened next.
In addition to four days in jail, Heene was sentenced to house arrest and ordered to pay $100 in restitution.

Chris Brown partied his ass off at L.A. club Guys and Dolls after his sentencing hearing this week. Only problem: Brown's 20 and the club's liquor license is strictly 21+.
We asked Alcohol Beverage Control if they were investigating Brown's visit and they confirmed they are "looking into reports that are surfacing regarding an underage individual in Guys and Dolls" -- but do not name Brown specifically.
If it's proven the club did allow a minor in -- which this photo gallery should pretty much do -- disciplinary action could be taken, including revocation of the spot's liquor license.
As far as Brown's probation getting revoked as well -- the jury's still out on that one.
UPDATE: A rep for the club tells TMZ "Chris Brown was at Guys and Dolls for a scheduled personal appearance. A good time was had by all."

How's this for chatter, Your Honor? Chris Brown may have violated his probation just hours after he was sentenced ... but a technicality will probably save him.
The probation report states that Brown must "abstain from the use of all alcoholic beverages and stay out of places where they are the chief item of sale."
Brown was at Guys and Dolls nightclub last night in West Hollywood, partying away. Guys and Dolls sells food, but its chief item of sale is liquor.
But here's Brown's saving grace. In her sentencing order, the judge did not mention the restriction. We're told the judge trumps the probation department, so Brown is probably in the clear by the skin of his teeth.

Hours after his sentencing and the release of the disturbingly graphic blow-by-blow of his assault on Rihanna, Chris Brown showed his remorse to the world -- by living it up at a Hollywood nightclub.

Surrounded by women, Brown appeared to be drawing a lot of attention to himself last night inside Guys and Dolls.
In the probation report released by the court, Brown said he was "depressed" after the Rihanna incident -- he sure didn't look depressed last night.

Chris Brown was just sentenced to 5 years probation and 6 months hard labor, and the judge threatened Brown by talking about the "chatter" she hears.

Judge Patricia Schnegg said during the sentencing, "I am not immune to the chatter on the airwaves." It's unclear if she was saying that she's heard reports that Brown and Rihanna are still talking ... or if she was just saying he needs to be careful because she watches TV and reads TMZ. To us, it sounded like the former.
Down to business, the judge sentenced Brown to perform hard labor at the Commonwealth Catholic Charities in Richmond, VA, where he must also take a 52-week domestic violence course.
The judge ruled Brown -- who pleaded guilty to felony assault -- must stay 100 yards away from Rihanna, unless they are both at an entertainment-related event, in which case he must stay 10 yards away. The protective order lasts 5 years.
He must provide DNA samples as requested by authorities.
Brown must also keep in touch with the Probation Department and is subject to search and seizure 24/7 for the next 5 years. He can't own any dangerous weapons, including guns or knives.
Brown must pay $2,500 in restitution and another $2,500 in probation expenses. He must also pay a $30 criminal conviction fee -- BARGAIN! He must also pay $400 that goes into a domestic violence fund.
Brown must get prior approval before leaving the country.
As Brown left court, female fans could be heard screaming "I love you."

The guy behind the wheel is Nick Hogan -- the guy in the passenger seat is the ballsiest guy on the planet.

Nick is officially back behind the wheel -- driving a brave passenger around in a black Range Rover near Agoura Hills, California on Monday night. It's been around 18 months since Nick's '07 car wreck that left his last passenger and friend, John Graziano, in a vegetative state -- and Nick behind bars and without a license.
The DMV granted him a driving permit last month for business-related excursions.

We know exactly why Lindsay Lohan is being hauled into court Monday and it's no big deal -- probably.
Here's why an arrest warrant was issued. Lindsay was in an alcohol ed program for more than a year and was in full compliance with her probation. Sources say not too long ago she decided to switch programs. She either was late or missed one of the classes at the new program -- she says because the paparazzi made it impossible for her to show up on schedule. So the program director sounded the alarm last week to the court. And that's why the judge issued a warrant.
Based on what we know this is not a big deal and Lindsay's new lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, should be able to have the warrant 86'd -- no problemo. The only wild card: There's a new judge on the case and she's really tough.
We're told Lindsay will not show for the appearance unless the judge decides she wants her there.
Stay tuned.

A prosecutor argued in court today that Tom Sizemore violated his probation, but the actor was not taken into custody.
Sizemore's lawyers argued that the amphetamines detected in his urine were actually legally prescribed by his doctor.
Superior Court Judge T.K. Herman scheduled a hearing for Jan. 13 so that Sizemore's lawyers could provide more information about the prescription drugs the actor is taking. If the Judge doesn't buy Tom's argument, the actor could be thrown in the slammer.
