DJ AM was about to have his own exclusive shoe put out by Nike -- but since his passing, the sneaker king has put a hold on releasing AM's kicks to the public.
We spoke to a rep for Nike, who said AM had been working with Nike for months on a limited edition line of Nike Dunks with his own logo emblazoned on them. We're told the design was complete and approved by AM, but Nike isn't releasing them yet because they are working with his family to figure out the "next step in terms of release."
AM had a well known obsession with Nike kicks -- owning around 700 pairs of 'em.

He's used to crushing wannabe singers, but now Simon Cowell is accused of destroying a wannabe chef ... or at least her arch support.
Simon and his ex-GF Terri Seymour have been sued by a woman who claims she got a "try-out" to be their private chef. In the docs, the chef claims Terri made her remove her sneakers and put on a "clear-bottom" pair when entering the home.
The cooking seemed to go well and the chef eventually took off, only to realize that she left her sneakers behind -- which she claims had $500 orthopedic insoles inside of them.
The chef claims she made repeated attempts to get 'em back -- and even made an additional trip to the house when Terri's assistant claimed he found them. She says the pair he produced weren't hers.
The woman has filed a small claims lawsuit seeking $661.59 from Cowell to cover the shoes, pricey insoles and the $9 in gas she wasted driving over.
A rep for Simon and Terri says "this is a ridiculous story." The rep says the chef simply left her sneakers and that Simon and Terri attempted to return them -- adding the pair that was found in the house are in fact the woman's sneakers.

L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, 54, and his newsbabe vixen, Mirthala Salinas, 37, were spotted by a TMZ spy while shoe shopping at San Fernando Valley's Fashion Square Mall -- girlfriend needs some new zapatos!
Senorita Salinas was suspended from her TV news duties at Telemundo after a three-week investigation, because she was reporting on the Mayor's separation from Corina (his wife of 20 years) -- while reportedly being the cause of it! Ay Dios mio!
Our eyewitness spy reports that the Mayor was happy to pose for a picture, but Ms. Salinas, in jeans and heels, attempted to avoid being photographed. The Mayor then wanted to see the "photo" being taken, and literally took the cell phone from our spy to flip through the photos -- photo approval anyone?! Noticias a las 11!

Just when we thought it wasn't possible, Mary-Kate Olsen has provided us with a post-Christmas miracle -- by finally giving up those wretched witch boots! Praise the lord!
For the first time in months, the itty-bitty millionairette was seen wearing something other than the heels from hell. Here, she's seen in platform jackboots, with apparently itchy leggings.
Behold the Olsen twin, who was delivered from the East by private plane to Los Angeles along with friend Selma Blair and Mary Kate's British boytoy, Max Snow.

Everyone nose Ashlee Simpson underwent an astounding "transformation" this year; with her new look came a new style, and judging from her UGG boots design, it's a good thing.
An eBay auction for this horrendous footwear, hand-designed by Ashlee in 2004, has feathers, stars, splotches and what seems to be a crude attempt at a drawing of a jacket. Craptastic!
These boots will please only the most diehard Ashlee fan, or blind shoe fetishist.

TMZ has learned that the world's most famous slacker was already begging for shoes, just a day before Britney Spears pulled the plug on K-Fed's "Fifty Mil" free ride.
While perusing the aisles in a Canadian sporting goods store Monday night, Federbroke hit up a paparazzo for sneaker money: "Can you buy me some shoes?" he asked the perplexed pap.
The generous photog smiled, kicked over $120 for a pair of orange and black running shoes, and shot back, "I bet we owe you a couple more pairs." Federline replied, "I bet you do!"
We're guessing his Black Amex must have already been cancelled!
