Christian Bale is now frail.
The 35-year-old -- who famously dropped 63 lbs for his role in "The Machinist" and then quickly bulked up for "Batman Begins" -- was spotted in Boston on Monday, once again working the heroin chic gaunt look to play drug addicted boxer Dicky Eklund in his latest film.
Hopefully an apple a day keeps the cinematographer away ... from walking into his scene.

Bosworth cooed as the tot drooled, while boyfriend James Rousseau watched from under a nearby palm.
It looks like Boz is taking a hula break after wrapping "The Girl in the Park," a drama she stars in with Sigourney Weaver.

The celebutante headed back for another round of shopping at the Melrose Ave. shop, where she was also seen the day before, having her photo taken with Santa.
Richie was again photographed on Santa's lap before purchasing a scarf -- and chewing the tag off of it. At least she's eating something.
