Sosa Allegedly Thought 'Roids Were All the Rage

We know it's a stretch to think a guy who hit 36 homers in '97 and then 66 in '98 was doing more than eating his Wheaties -- but that's exactly what a new report is alleging.

Legendary Chicago Cub Sammy Sosa is now accused of testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug in 2003, according to the New York Times.

A total of 104 cheaters -- including A-Roid -- failed that fateful round of '03 tests, back when there was no penalty for first-time use of performance-enhancing drugs.

The list, which the MLB sealed but never destroyed, was recently seized by the Feds in order to investigate how so many drugs were making their way into clubhouses.

Sosa told Congress back in '05 that he never hit the juice -- we'll see if that comes back to bite him in the ass.

Barry's Bongos -- Enhanced for Performance

Barry Bonds injected himself into a charity event yesterday, to play* a set of bongos that seemed to be a bit larger that normal size bongos .... suspiciously larger ....

Queen Elizabeth's Horse Popped for Juicin'

Queen ElizabethFirst A-Roid ... then Manny ... now Queen Elizabeth herself has been injected into a scandal involving a performance enhancing substance.

It's all over a racehorse owned by the Queen -- officials in England claim the horse, named Moonlit Path, tested positive for a banned substance after a race in March. But here's the catch: Moonlit Path didn't even win the race -- it finished 6th.

The Queen's peeps have already come up with an excuse, claiming Moonlit Path only got the prohibited acid -- which is also used to treat excessive bleeding -- in the best interests of the "horse's welfare."

The British Horseracing Authority has already charged the horse's trainer for the incident ... so far the Queen is clean.

Manny Ramirez -- I'm Sorry, So Sorry...

Manny RamirezManny Ramirez just released the following statement regarding his 50 game suspension for violating the MLB drug policy:

"Recently I saw a physician for a personal health issue. He gave me a medication, not a steroid, which he thought was OK to give me.

Unfortunately, the medication was banned under our drug policy. Under the policy, that mistake is now my responsibility. I've been advised not to say anything more for now.

I do want to say one other thing; I've taken and passed about 15 drug tests over the past 5 seasons.

I want to apologize to Mr. McCourt, Mrs. McCourt, Mr. Torre, my teammates, the Dodger organization, and to the Dodger fans. L.A. is a special place to me and I know everybody is disappointed. So am I. I'm sorry about this whole situation."

According to the MLB Players Association, Manny has waived his right to challenge that suspension.

Los Angeles Dodgers CEO Jamie McCourt issued the following statement in reaction to today's statement: "We share the disappointment felt by our fans, our players, and every member of our organization. We support the policies of Major League Baseball, and we will welcome Manny back upon his return."

Manny Ramirez to be Suspended 50 Games

The Los Angeles Dodgers star is the most prolific player to be suspended by MLB since it began testing in 2003.

According to the report, Manny stands to lose about $7.7 million.

The Dodgers currently have the best record in baseball.

Alex Rodriguez -- B*tch T*ts?!

A-RodDon't blame us for the nickname...

According to a brand new report from the person who broke the original A-Rod steroid story a few months ago, some of A-Rod's Yankees teammates called him "Bitch Tits" in 2005 -- because he allegedly developed man boobies from steroids.

According to Selena Roberts, "Bitch Tits" didn't stop using the 'roids back when he was on the Rangers -- as he stated publicly -- but cheated all the way to NY. Roberts claims in 2005, A-Rod's teammates noticed "he put on 15 pounds in the offseason which included round pectorals, a condition called gynecomastia that can be caused by anabolic steroids." In other words -- dude had bitch tits.

Another fun fact from Roberts' new report: She claims A-Rod was hated at Hooters because he only tipped 15 percent.

Steroids Scandal on "DWTS"?

DWTS ScandalMove over, A-Roid -- Jewel has now taken your place as the face of cheating in pro sports. Alright, it's dancing ... but still.

Jewel took to her blog yesterday to announce she is battling tendonitis in her knee as she prepares for the upcoming season of "Dancing with the Stars." But Jewel, unlike seemingly every baseball player, openly admits she is taking steroids to help her stay healthy. She writes, "Hopefully these steroids will really do the trick and I can keep bad flare ups at a bay in the future."

It is unknown what ABC's policy is on performance-enhancing drugs in reality dance competition shows. Certainly if Jewel should go on to win, "DWTS" purists will call for an asterisk next to her name....

Roidy Roidhead from "Wrestler" Busted for Roids

The guy who sold Mickey Rourke steroids in "The Wrestler" was just, you guessed it, arrested for allegedly selling steroids... and we just got his mugshot.

scott siegal, the wrestler, mugshot
Scott Siegel was already under DEA surveillance in Westchester County, NY last night when officers spotted him picking up a package. Feds in four cars moved in, and the raging beefcake allegedly rammed three of their cars -- then took off on foot.

Pumped Up: Launch PhotosOfficers caught up with Scott and arrested him for steroid distribution and assaulting a federal officer.

UPDATE: Siegel's bail has just been denied -- due to strong evidence against him, along with his 1999 conviction for selling steroids.

A-Roid Field Still a Go

A-RoidIt's simple math, really -- $3.9 million is greater than a tarnished legacy.

Everything is still on for Friday's ceremony at the University of Miami to name the new baseball field Alex Rodriguez Field. Lying Liar Field was apparently too cumbersome.

Although A-Roid didn't actually go to UM, he has been close to the program and the entire Miami community and donated $3.9 mil back in 2002. A rep for the school tells us "We are moving forward with the event. The donation was announced at a press conference on Oct. 10, 2002."

In this economy, nobody is about to give back money based on principle.

A-Roid Confesses -- Cheater, Cheater, Cheater

Alex "The Fraud" Rodriguez just 'fessed up to taking performance-enhancing drugs while playing for the Texas Rangers during a three-year period beginning in 2001.

A-Rod: Click to watch
Cheater Rodriguez told ESPN's Peter Gammons, "When I arrived in Texas in 2001, I felt an enormous amount of pressure. I needed to perform, and perform at a high level every day."

Liar Rodriguez continued, "Back then, [baseball] was a different culture. It was very loose. I was young, I was stupid, I was naïve. I wanted to prove to everyone I was worth being one of the greatest players of all time."

Ruiner of Sports Rodriguez also said, "I did take a banned substance. For that, I'm very sorry and deeply regretful."

Blah, blah, blah cheater.

A-Rod Allegedly Knocks Steroid Test Out of Park

A-RodIn 2003 Alex Rodriguez posted high marks on nearly every important test: MVP, American League home run title, and ... anabolic steroids!

According to a Sports Illustrated report, A-Rod joined the ranks of 104 other MLB players that year who also tested positive. But back in '03 there were no penalties for a positive result.

For now, there has been no comment from A-Rod, the Yankees or the players union.
