The Game is in a serious feud with the wrong gang of homies -- the lawyers who saved him from 5 years of hard time.
The legal team who repped the rapper in the wake of his 2007 arrest on gun charges claims Game never forked over $34,683.90 in bills for the work they did.
In the suit, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, the firm, Kinsella Weitzman Iser Kump & Aldisert, claims they even got the guy "a successful outcome."
... and since Game was facing a potential five-year sentence in state prison ... and only ended up serving eight days ... you'd think he got his money's worth.
The Game'scousin wants the rapper to be coffin' up some serious cash -- and it's all over an alleged beat down that occurred at a freakin' funeral last year.
Robert Kirkwood just filed a lawsuit in L.A. County Superior Court, claiming the The Game and four others assaulted him at his sister's funeral in July of '08.
The suit says the throwdown -- straight out of a Jerry Springer Halloween Special -- started when Robert confronted The Game because the rich rapper wouldn't pay for a part of the funeral costs.
Robert -- who hilariously refers to The Game in the suit as someone who "fashions himself as some kind of rapper, gangster and/or celebrity" -- says he suffered "severe and permanent injuries" during the alleged fight.
Robert is suing The Game -- along with the four other people he claims took part in the fight -- for medical expenses, loss of income and general damages.
There was a $100,000 bet for charity between Bow Wow and The Game to see who's the best at Madden football on Xbox -- and Bow Wow spilled who came out on top, and who had to write a check their thumbs couldn't cash.
Still smoldering with rage, rapper The Game went to the airwaves to unleash a brutal verbal attack on his family after a massive "royal rumble" style beatdown at his cousin's funeral last weekend. Game told "The Nutz In The Morning" on Power 98.3 one of his grieving family members was so pissed that the rapper only offered to pay for the casket and flowers, that the bereaved cousin actually brought gang members to the funeral, hit him up for "the cheese" at the funeral and ultimately threw the shove that ignited a violent war ... at the funeral! Mo' money mo' problems!
The Game has pissed off his fam bam -- big time! His family says the rapper had promised to finance part of his cousin's funeral -- but when it came time to pay up, they got stiffed!
Robert "Kirky" Kirkwood tells TMZ that when his sister died, The Game -- who he says is his first cousin -- volunteered to pay half of the $14k it cost to bury her. But after making the commitment, Kirky says The Game changed his phone number and went underground!
As TMZ first reported last night, The Game finally showed up to Twin Towers to serve his weapons-possession sentence, and we've learned that he'll be a "keep away" while inside, meaning that he'll be segregated from the general population while in the joint. The rapper (real name: Jayceon Taylor) turned up to turn himself in late Sunday night, accompanied by his uber-lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley, and dozens of his friends and supporters wearing "Free The Game" t-shirts. We're told that he was described as being "his usual self" upon check-in.
The Game is supposed to serve 60 days, but we're told that he might not serve even half that many.
A sunny Saturday afternoon in L.A. -- the perfect time to get the guys out for a motorcycle ride -- and that's exactly where we found rapper The Game.
All of Melrose Ave. stopped to see The Game's bitchin' new ride; a Can-Am Spider motorcycle. The Game told us everything about his new "spaceship," then stripped for our cameras, exchanging his white T for TMZ's 'Ding Dang Y'all' shirt! Then, pimptabulous "The Bishop" showed up in his lime green Rolls Royce with a gift for The Game -- one-of-a-kind lime green Emerica sneakers with alligator skin and gold detailing. There's no end to The Bishop's good taste in finery!
The Game generously offered to autograph the shoes -- with his new trademark "TMZ" -- and handed it back to us to auction off for charity! His personalized shoes and autographed t-shirt are now available for bidding on eBay. All of the proceeds will benefit "A Place Called Home," a South Central L.A. non-profit organization dedicated to helping at-risk kids achieve their dreams through educational enrichment. The pimp is on!
It says "L.A." on The Game's cheek, but his hat was representin' NY outside court yesterday -- how's that for bridging the East Coast/West Coast rap wars!
The always talkative rapper showed off his customized "Comptonmobile," then explained his affinity for baby lotion and told TMZ why he replaced his love for Britney for a much older dame.
Thanks to uber celeb lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley, The Game won a motion to retrieve $40,000 seized from his Glendale home last May, but who cares about the legal wins? That's one fun Game!
TMZ caught up with The Game outside of court today, where he sent his condolences to Kanye West -- with whom he collaborated on "Wouldn't Get Far," among other songs.
Game reiterated how close Kanye was with his mother, and that she was "one of those mothers that's always around. Kanye's in the studio, his mom's there ... to lose somebody like that is catastrophic."
The Game was in court today for a pre-trial hearing -- for 5 whole minutes -- and talked and talked and talked to our reporter outside for another 20. Game on!
Game talked about everything from Britney Spears to David Copperfield, even throwing in some sick Kid 'n Play dance moves in between, the rapper took all attention away from that whole possession of a firearm in a school zone thing.
The Game will be back in court November 14. Hopefully, he'll be just as chatty next time!
Rapper rouser The Game found out today that he could have his cop impersonation case dismissed and sealed -- if he can keep himself clean for six months.
Rapper The Game, real name Jayceon Terrell Taylor, arrived in a Los Angeles County court today with celeb lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley, to face charges of making a criminal threat and possession of a firearm in a school zone -- and he couldn't have been in a better mood about it. Maybe someone didn't explain the whole thing to him.
Walking with a considerable limp, The Game told our photogs that he was there to "ride all the rides at Disneyland." You have to be at least THIS TALL to carry a gun around!
Then someone asked how he was feeling -- you know, facing charges and all -- but Game said he felt "like eating some more El Pollo Loco." Tell it to the judge, pal!
UPDATE: The judge ruled there was sufficient evidence in the case, and The Game will stand trial on the three felony charges. He is out on $50,000 bail and his next court date is September 25.
New York rapper and G-Unit founder Tony Yayo -- real name Marvin Bernard -- smacked down an offer of nine months in jail in exchange for copping to an alleged assault on a 14-year-old boy. Yayo pleaded not guilty in Manhattan Criminal Court this morning and is currently free on $5,000 bail. The alleged victim is the son of Jimmy "Henchman" Rosemond, Czar Entertainment honcho and manager of rapper The Game. The Game and Yayo, of course have beefed on-and-off-record for years.
His case was adjourned until September 6, when Judge Neil Ross is expected to rule on his lawyer Scott Leemon's motion to subpoena e-mails between Czar Entertainment and its PR company, 5W Public Relations.
Leemon told TMZ, "We rejected the offer of nine months. That's not even a good offer for a guilty person, never mind an innocent person." He adds that Tony is "doing fine. He went right from court to the airport, and flew to Miami to meet the rest of the members of G-Unit to record the new G-Unit album."
Jayceon Taylor aka "The Game" was in NYC criminal court today, answering to charges that he impersonated an undercover police officer late last year.
The Game rejected a Manhattan prosecutor's offer of a guilty plea for a sentence of time already served (the few hours in the precinct when he was booked). Edison Alban, spokesman for the Manhattan D.A.'s office tells TMZ, "He declined the deal through his lawyers. He was also in court but didn't address the judge or say anything else." Criminal impersonation in the 2nd degree carries a maximum sentence of one year in jail.
The rapper was arrested last November after he told a cab driver that he was an undercover police officer -- and persuaded him to run a few red lights. He allegedly rode in the cab after an appearance on "The Late Show with David Letterman." The cabbie drove about 13 blocks before he was pulled over by police.
Rapper The Game has been charged with making a criminal threat and with possession of a firearm in a school zone during a Feb. 24 pickup basketball game, according to the L.A. District Attorney's office.
The rapper, whose real name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor, allegedly got into an altercation with a player on an opposing team during a basketball game at the Rita Walters Educational Learning Complex in South Los Angeles. After allegedly punching the victim, cops say The Game pulled a gun from his red Escalade and threatened to pop the victim. Not very sportsmanlike!
The 27-year-old is also charged with one count of exhibiting a firearm in the presence of an officer. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday for the three felonies.
Just last month, LAPD arrested The Game at his Glendale home, after police executed a search warrant. He was released on $50,000 bail. If convicted, The Game is facing more than five years in state prison.
