Mischa Barton opened up about her August breakdown today on "The View" -- saying the whole thing started when her wisdom teeth surgery went "really badly wrong."
A lucid Mischa said she was already "overwhelmed" by work when she went in for surgery, which only made things worse. Barton says she was sent to the psychiatric ward because, "If you say anything, like, negative in the hospital and they think you're a risk to yourself, they hold you, they won't let you go."
Mischa said she hit "rock bottom," but is "fine" now and called the whole ordeal a "wake-up call."

Move over Ken Paves, Jessica Simpson's got a new sidekick -- Christina Aguilera.
TMZ spotted Aguilera and hubby Jordan with Jessica Simpson and sister Ashlee leaving Hyde on Friday. After ditching Ashlee, the crew piled into Aguilera's Rolls Royce Phantom and took off for a party in Beverly Hills.
Ivanka Trump, Kim Kardashian, Tila Tequila and Scott Wolf were also seen at Hyde this weekend. "The OC" stars Rachel Bilson, Melinda Clarke and Autumn Reeser dined together at Mr. Chow Saturday night; filming wrapped Friday on the last episode of the series (to air February 22). Also seen at Chow's: "Nip/Tuck" hottie Kelly Carlson.

Like you didn't see this one coming down the 405?
After killing off their most famous character, turning Summer into a hippie, and forcing Ryan to fight just about everybody who looked at him the wrong way, the folks behind "The OC" have finally thrown in the beach towel.
"This feels like the best time to bring the show to its close," said Josh Schwartz, the show's creator and executive producer. According to FOX, on February 22 the struggling series will ride off into the California sunset one last time.
"The OC" was an overnight sensation when it first debuted in 2003. But darker plotlines led to a departure from what the show did best -- lighthearted comedy mixed with teen angst -- culminating in the death of Mischa Barton's character last season, and now the death of the series.

OC star Benjamin McKenzie hit the sand to film upcoming scenes for season four of "The O.C."
McKenzie's character Ryan strolled along the coast of "Newport" on Tuesday afternoon to film beach scenes with his red-headed female co-star.
If you can't wait to see what happens on this season, have no fear. All your favorite characters (minus Marissa) will be back on FOX November 2 for the season premiere.

4) Jenn Has Just GOTTA KNOW: Whatever happened to Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher? They got married and then dropped off the face of the planet!
It is quite possible, Jenn, that you have been suffering from a lack of Demi and Ashton due to their busy careers. Demi has been working on the movie "Flawless." In this dramatic role, she is convinced by a soon-to-be-retired janitor (Michael Caine) to go along with a plot to steal diamonds from the London Diamond Corporation -- Demi and the janitor's employer. In other news, Demi and Ashton can be seen together in the movie "Bobby," a drama about US Senator Robert F. Kennedy's assassination. "Bobby" is due out in theaters in late November. While you're waiting to see this duo on the big screen, take a look at them on your computer screen as they partied it up for the farewell of "That 70's Show."
5) Cristina Has Just GOTTA KNOW: I saw a comment about looking for pictures of Dulce Maria. Well, my question is where can I find pictures of Anahí and other members of RBD or Rebelde?

With word coming down that FOX cut the episode order for "The OC" from 22 to 16 (and cancellation now looming heavily), we here at TMZ got to wondering: Are things so desperate that it's time to try and bring back Mischa Barton? How would they even do such a thing?
Here are a few ideas:
It was all a ... well, you know
But whose dream is it? Ryan's? Marissa's? Sandy's? Nope. It would be Ryan's brother Trey's dream.
Let's just assume Trey was in a coma after Marissa shot him at the end of season two. While in the coma, he has this dream about what would happen after he wakes up. He creates all this heartache for Marissa and even has her end up with another bad boy (Volchok). The fact that the bad boy relationship leads to Marissa dying makes Trey realize things never would have worked between them.

Getting your song on "The OC" has become nearly as important as a marketing tool as buying a feature on Myspace.com or getting on the radio. Now, with Fox purchasing a smaller number of OC episodes this season, reports of the show's possible demise have record execs worried.
Over the past three seasons, "OC" has provided critical exposure for bands and artists that became "indie darlings," selling scores of records for bands like Death Cab for Cutie, Franz Ferdinand, Modest Mouse, Iron & Wine, Bloc Party, the All American Rejects, Sufjan Stevens, Imogen Heap, Rilo Kiley and many, many more. The show also gave some new life to songs by classic artists like Bob Seger and Journey, whose tunes don't typically get played on the radio stations that reach the OC's demographic. Heavyweights like Gwen Stefani and U2 even benefited from the OC bounce.
No doubt there will be a scramble by acts to get on this season in the event that this is the end. Meanwhile, shows like "Smallville" (The WB), and "Laguna Beach" (MTV) already are doing a nice job featuring emerging artists, and will pick up the slack if the kids from Orange County disappear from our TV screens.

"Oh no... YOU guys!" said "The OC" star when TMZ ace cameraman Josh Levine caught up with her last night at a benefit for the LA Mission.
We were able to steal a moment from Miss Bilson were she touched on Father's Day, lamenting that she doesn't know what to get her dad, that her iPod is filled with Kelis (a guilty pleasure of hers) and that her cell ringtone is music from The Shins. Interestingly, in the middle of her interview Rachel stopped to check out boyfriend Adam Brody pose for photos on carpet, commenting "he's stealing my limelight!"
You'll be happy to know she did get a free TMZ t-shirt out of the deal.
