One of Verne Troyer's ex girlfriends claims the man who made Mini-Me famous is a threat to her life ... and she fears someone in Verne's posse could do her in with a gun.
Yvette Monet filed a restraining order -- obtained by TMZ -- claiming Verne continues to email and phone her with "awful messages," calling her a hooker and other names.
Monet says Verne told her his friend Bart "is carrying guns and will do anything he says." She goes on -- "His friend Jose is a cop and has guns as well. I'm afraid for my life."
The judge granted a temporary restraining order.
UPDATE: Vern's lawyer, Ed McPherson, tells TMZ his client is "shocked and appalled" at what he calls the "false and frivolous accusations." McPherson can't believe a judge issued the restraining order without giving Vern notice and with no proof of Monet's allegations.
McPherson says Vern can't wait to fight this one out in court.

And the truth shall set you free ... to sell your sex tape.
Ranae Shrider -- the co-star of the only good movie Verne Troyer has done this year -- the woman who now says she authorized TMZ to run portions of the sex tape -- is now actively shopping it around town. That's what sources tell us.
We're told she's asking for a minimum $25,000. And here's the deal....a deal may have already been struck and the flick could go wide as early as next week. We're predicting a bigger B.O. than "Love Guru."

Just because there's no red light, doesn't mean the camera isn't recording -- something an overly-partied Cheryl probably wished she knew before calling Verne Troyer the very un-PC term, "midget," about a hundred times.

Verne Troyer has filed a $20 million lawsuit, claiming TMZ violated his rights by publishing and airing portions of his sex tape.
In the suit, filed Thursday in U.S. District Court in downtown L.A., Troyer claims TMZ violated his privacy rights and infringed on his copyright and trademark by running portions of the tape on TMZ TV and TMZ.com. He also alleges TMZ violated his right of publicity and misappropriated his name and likeness.
Troyer says the tape was stolen and ended up in the hands of Kevin Blatt, the guy who distributed "One Night in Paris." Blatt is also named as a defendant.
In addition to damages, Troyer wants an injunction prohibiting further dissemination of the video.
Calls to TMZ were not returned.

According to the NHL, the Stanley Cup is 35 1/4 inches tall -- Verne Troyer is only 32 inches tall.
Size matters.

Usually, an Ashlee Simpson trip to Las Vegas means a lot of bad singing -- but last night at the grand opening of the Palms Place, she unleashed her motherly glow.
Also at the Palms: big sis Jessica Simpson, tiny thesp Vern Troyer, "A.I" loser Constantine Maroulis and Linda Hogan and her teen companion. Mr. Ashlee Simpson, Pete Wentz, spent his night on the turntables ... emo-style!

Finally cured of a truly Hollywood affliction -- "dehydration" -- Dr. Evil's miniature spawn mounted his motorized high chair, and scooted through a Vancouver airport. Damn that Dr. Evil!
Verne had been hospitalized while filming the rest of Heath Ledger's unfinished movie, "The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus," in British Columbia.

You can't keep a good man down. The same goes for a little guy. Mini Me Verne Troyer hit up Prive nightclub in Vegas at Planet Hollywood on Monday.
The knee-high actor, probably best known for his role in "Austin Powers" and for peeing in the corner on VH1's "Surreal Life," lapped it up with a gaggle of girls while 90s throwback House of Pain performed.
Lucky for the go go dancer, Verne left the stage dry. This time ...
