How many times have you gotten on a long distance flight and been ready to settle in to the in-flight flick, only to learn the airline is featuring "The Rugrats Movie." Darn- you've seen it before.
As you sit in your coach seat cursing the the lack of in-flight Internet, Panasonic has decided to pick up where Boeing's Connexion service left off. Panasonic is now utilizing the Connexion-fitted airplanes to roll out its own service triumphing where Boeing failed.
What does that mean to you, the traveling web-addict? It means in-air internet is just one step closer. You can chat with your friends about the smelly guy sitting three rows away or how hot you think the flight attendant is, all while you check out the latest adventures of Greasy Bear and Firecrotch. And finally, the TMZ staff can get assignments from Managing Editor Harvey Levin while we travel on our vacations.
Hmmm, wait. That doesn't seem like a good idea after all.

Two days after Apple announced they had updated the ever-popular iPod and added movies to iTunes, Microsoft has unleashed their Zune digital media player.

The first in a series of Zune branded products, the Zune sports a 30GB capacity for playing your music and video files on it's bright 3" screen. The device also incorporates the ability to customize the Zune experience with personal photos or themes. Wireless Zune to Zune sharing lets consumers share full-length sample tracks of select songs and photos with their friends. The player comes in three colors: black, brown and white.
Along with the announcement of the Zune player comes the Zune Marketplace. Users can browse and purchase tracks individually or buy a Zune pass subscription on the Marketplace and download as many songs as they'd like for a flat fee.
While there is no release date as of yet, Microsoft says the Zune Player will be available for the holiday season. No word on just how much the Zune will cost you.

You have a friend you need to IM and at the same time you need to look up directions to tonight's party, all while monitoring that auction on eBay. What's the solution? Well, you can drag your laptop around or you can buy mylo, Sony's new communication device.
The personal communicator, dubbed mylo (which stands for My Life Online) by Sony, comes with a ton of cool features. mylo offers WiFi for wireless networking, an HTML browser, an audio player that supports MP3, WMA and ATRAC audio files. It also plays video files and you can view pictures of your friends (or favorite celebrity).
Slide the 2.4 inch color LCD screen up and a full QWERTY keyboard emerges to make short order of those instant messages. For now, the device only supports Yahoo Messenger and Google Talk.
But what separates mylo from your average media player is that it allows phone calls utilizing the Skype Internet phone service over WiFi.
With the ability to communicate that much, you may never have to go home again. mylo hits the streets in September.
