Delonte West was administered the potentially life-saving drug, Narcan, before being put in handcuffs and arrested earlier this week, TMZ Sports has learned.

We broke the story ... the 42-year-old former NBA player was taken into custody in Fairfax County, Virginia, on Monday, after the local police department received a call for a man who was found unconscious and not breathing.

Our sources tell us West was breathing when cops and EMS arrived ... and at some point was administered the Naloxone spray, an opioid antagonist, which rapidly reverses the effects of opioids, out of an abundance of caution.

Frank Grillo thinks the world is ready for an A.I. hero on the big screen ... 'cause he argues humans ain't fixing the world on their own!

We caught up with the actor at LAX on Thursday ... and we asked him about his upcoming film "Override" -- in which he will play an A.I. "synthetic angel," according to Variety.

Grillo says he believes the world's ready for such a hero because we aren't "making it happen" in terms of saving the world at this point.

Donald Trump just made Darryl Strawberry's year -- the President of the United States has pardoned the New York Mets legend in his 1995 tax evasion case.

The three-time World Series champ revealed the news on Friday ... expressing his gratitude in a detailed Instagram post. He revealed POTUS personally called him on Thursday afternoon to inform him of the clemency.

"Yesterday I was home caring for my wife as she recovered from surgery, when my phone kept ringing relentlessly," Strawberry said.

"It's been a long month for Mark as he continues to recover from serious injuries while also grieving the loss of a close friend. While the recent news — and its timing — is understandably disappointing, our priority remains his continued healing and recovery. Mark deeply values his time at FOX and the exceptional colleagues he’s had the privilege to work with. Those relationships are meaningful and will endure."

A month after Mark Sanchez was involved in a near-fatal fight while in Indianapolis to call an NFL game for FOX, the company has handed the quarterback-turned-broadcaster his pink slip, TMZ Sports has learned.

A FOX Sports spokesperson tells us ... "We can confirm that Mark Sanchez is no longer with the network. There will be no further comment at this time."

Lee Tamahori -- a well-respected director with decades in the film industry -- has died ... his family revealed to New Zealand's public broadcasting company on Friday.

Tamahori passed away after a battle with Parkinson's Disease, his family told RNZ ... adding, "His legacy endures with his whānau, his mokopuna, every filmmaker he inspired, every boundary he broke, and every story he told with his genius eye and honest heart."

Tamahori rose to international prominence after the release of his 1994 film "Once Were Warriors" ... a film which followed a family as they struggled with the detrimental effects of European countries colonizing New Zealand.

Antonio Brown Appears In NJ Court ... For Attempted Murder W/ Deadly Weapon Charge

Antonio Brown stood before a judge in New Jersey on Friday morning -- his first appearance in his attempted murder case -- where the former NFL superstar agreed to be transferred to Florida, where he'll fight the felony charge.

Officials for the Essex County Prosecutors' Office tell TMZ Sports that 37-year-old Brown appeared before Judge Barry earlier today and "executed a waiver of extradition," meaning he won't fight being shipped to Miami, the location of the incident that led to the charge.
