A friend of the man Mark Sanchez allegedly attacked is speaking out ... saying there's no way his buddy instigated the incident.

Gregg Keesling told FOX59 his longtime pal Perry Tole is a "very peaceful man ... He told me, 'Faith guided my hands to protect myself.'"

Gregg continued, "He didn't ask for this to come, and he's the type of person that would try to avoid it, yet he was left with no other option."

Paul Pierce is opening up on his DUI arrest ... and he's chalking the whole ordeal up to being "old" and "tired."

The NBA legend was taken into custody late Tuesday night ... after the California Highway Patrol said officers found him asleep at the wheel of a Range Rover SUV in the middle of U.S. Highway 101 in Los Angeles.

Pierce said in a statement on Threads on Thursday the CHP's decision to close lanes for nearly an hour to investigate a crash is what led to the whole issue.

Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce was arrested on Tuesday, the California Highway Patrol said.

According to the CHP, authorities found Pierce asleep while he was in the driver's seat of his Range Rover as it was in the middle of traffic on the 101 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley.

Cops say lanes had been closed on the highway while a crash investigation occurred ... and the sleeping Pierce was discovered following their reopening at around 11:35 PM.

Mark Sanchez has been arrested after he was stabbed early Saturday morning, according to local law enforcement.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department released a statement Saturday, hours after we broke the news that Sanchez was stabbed just after midnight ... in which they say they arrested Sanchez for his alleged role in the incident.

The NFL commentator was arrested at the hospital on charges of battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and public intoxication ... all misdemeanors.

Two people were arrested at a Canadian ostrich farm as they desperately continued to protest the mandated slaughter of 400 ostriches.

Local news outlets report officials with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) arrived at the British Columbia farm Tuesday to begin preparations for the cull ordered due to an avian flu outbreak nearly 1 year ago. Protesters lined up at the farm, calling the mandate inhumane and unnecessary.

Universal Ostrich Farms farmers Katie Pasitney and her mother, Karen Espersen, were arrested for refusing to leave the ostrich pen as CFIA officials got to work.

Big commotion at Travis Kelce's home ... a process server got arrested while trying to serve Taylor Swift deposition papers from Justin Baldoni's legal team.

The wild incident went down earlier this month, when a man named Justin Lee Fisher got busted at the NFL star's estate in Leawood, Kansas.

According to docs, first reported by Star, Fisher was "charged with jumping the fence onto a private residence in a private neighborhood." He was arrested around 2 AM on Sept. 15. Sounds like he tried to go above and beyond, allegedly, to serve the pop star. We're told Taylor and Travis were home at the time.

Jadeveon Clowney Arrested Days Before Cowboys Signing

1:22 PM PT -- TMZ Sports has obtained Jadeveon Clowney's mug shot.

We've also gotten a hold of the police report related to the NFL star's arrest ... and it states Clowney was taken into custody after he got into a dispute while trying to find parking near a high school football game.

The docs state Clowney argued with a cop while searching for a spot -- and refused to provide an ID.

"Reporting officer requested Clowney's identification at least twice during the incident which Clowney repeatedly refused to provide," police wrote in the docs. "Reporting officer advised Clowney that he was under arrest for trespassing and failure to ID."

Clowney, meanwhile, addressed the incident with Dallas Cowboys media members on Friday and said he's ready to "move on from it."

Jadeveon Clowney was arrested last week ... just a couple days before he signed a contract to play for the Dallas Cowboys.

Jhayco Arrested For Drug Possession in Miami

Jhayco was arrested in Florida after police say they found cocaine and marijuana during a traffic stop ... TMZ has confirmed.

According to the arrest report, obtained by TMZ, officers spotted the singer's car going 5 MPH before it stopped in the middle of the road for over a minute, prompting the traffic stop. The cop says he smelled marijuana coming from the car and noticed white powder on Jhayco's pants and nose.

When asked for his license, the singer allegedly fumbled through his wallet and phone, and a records check showed none on file. A search of the car turned up two black pouches with about 14 grams of suspected cannabis, while Jhayco allegedly had multiple baggies of suspected cocaine totaling around 2 grams.

10:14 AM PT -- The Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office tells TMZ Sports ... "This case was dropped as the victim is declining to prosecute per her victim attorney, Lindsey Chase, Esq. and her sentiments we directly confirmed by the Assistant State Attorney handling the prosecution."

"The witness to the incident, who is the victim’s mother, also failed to cooperate and failed, after being subpoenaed for a prefile conference on Thursday 8/7. Followed up attempts to contact the witness (mother) via phone were unsuccessful."

It continued, "The incident itself was not observed by the police officer who had been called to the scene eliminating him as a possible witness to what had transpired."

Gervonta Davis' domestic violence case has been dropped, TMZ Sports confirmed.

Big break in the Brad Pitt house break-in case -- LAPD's finest arrested the suspects who they believe burglarized the actor's L.A. home ... this according to a new report.

NBC LA reports the suspects believed to be part of the burglary crew that allegedly broke into Brad's home back in June were arrested Thursday, after cops say they tried breaking into a different home.

We broke the story ... cops had been hot on the trail of three alleged perpetrators in the Pitt burglary, with investigators combing through surveillance footage and running fingerprints lifted from the scene.
