Suspected Charlie Kirk shooter Tyler Robinson wore a strange outfit during his first court appearance Tuesday -- and we're told his smock was designed so he couldn't hang himself.
Robinson appeared virtually in a green suicide prevention smock from the Utah County Jail, where he's been locked up in the Special Housing Unit since his arrest last week, accused of fatally shooting Kirk, according to authorities.
During Tuesday's hearing, Robinson was seated in a room facing the camera, which showed him from his head to his torso dressed in the green smock, also referred to as anti-ligature clothing.

Prosecutors in Utah just released a conversation police say alleged Charlie Kirk killer Tyler Robinson had with his lover/roommate after the fatal shooting ... and it includes a confession.
According to documents, Robinson texted his roommate shortly after the murder on September 10th to look for a note under a keyboard. The note stated, "I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I'm going to take it."
After reading the note, the roommate texted Robinson, "You weren't the one who did it, right????" Robinson responded, "I am, I'm sorry."

Now, Zinn has been charged with 4 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor after FBI agents examined his phone and found images of underage girls dressed only in their underwear, according to court documents filed Tuesday by Utah prosecutors. The docs say Zinn admitted to the feds he gets "sexually aroused" by children.

11:26 AM PT -- Prosecutors officially slapped alleged Charlie Kirk murderer Tyler Robinson with 7 criminal charges ... including aggravated murder.
Robinson is facing 6 felony charges and one misdemeanor. Prosecutors said during the news conference they intend to seek the death penalty.
The other charges ... felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, two counts of obstruction of justice, two counts of tampering with a witness, and a misdemeanor count of violent offense committed in the presence of a child.
Utah law enforcement personnel are set to hold a press conference Tuesday after charges were filed against Tyler Robinson, who is suspected of fatally shooting Charlie Kirk ... officials are expected to give details on each of the counts.
This update comes less than a week after Robinson was apprehended as the main suspect in the conservative pundit's assassination ... he was booked on suspicion of committing 3 crimes in the case, including aggravated murder, obstruction of justice, and felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury.
Robinson was formally charged Tuesday ... with Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray previously noting that they're in the "very early stages" of the investigation.

An explosives device was found under a news van belonging to KSTU FOX13 News Utah and the device "had been lit but failed to function as designed" ... according to KUTV, citing court records.
The explosives device was reportedly found Friday in Salt Lake City ... and the suspects were busted after FBI agents and bomb squads from local law enforcement descended on a residence in Magna, Utah, a city just to the northwest of Salt Lake City.

The New York Times says Tyler Robinson was chatting with 20 individuals online after the FBI released photos of Kirk's alleged killer, which were the spitting image of Robinson.
One person reportedly recognized Robinson, tagging him in a post with the FBI pics and asking where he was at the time of the murder.
