Elon Musk's mother is keeping it real when it comes to which of her son's achievements makes her most proud, and ya might be surprised ... it's not Tesla.
Maye Musk was out Wednesday in NYC with a huge smile ... and for good reason. Her son's car company just became the highest-valued car company in U.S. history -- with a total market value of nearly $100 billion.
To put that in perspective, that's more than General Motors and Ford combined. A huge accomplishment for sure, but Elon's mom says there's something else on her son's resume she, personally, finds more impressive.
There's plenty to choose from, for sure, although you can be pretty sure it isn't his prowess on a dance floor. Even a mother couldn't back those moves.
No, Maye's choice is something we'd all have to look up to ... we think. Even if you disagree, ya gotta love her energy in this clip.
Fun facts: Maye was a Miss South Africa finalist in 1969 and has modeled for tons of magazine covers, Revlon ads, and even appeared in Beyonce's "Haunted" music video.
1:18 PM PT -- Buckingham Palace just released a statement, saying, "Discussions with The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage. We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through."
This is huge ... Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are doing something unheard of in the Royal Family -- they're throwing in the towel when it comes to performing senior royal duties and are now determined to become financially independent, and our sources say part of that is moving to Canada.
Harry and Meghan just announced the big change, saying, "After many months of reflection and internal discussion, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as 'senior' members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen."
They go on ... "We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America ... This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity."
Our sources say the move to North America is actually Canada -- a British Commonwealth nation -- where Meghan has some roots. She filmed "Suits" in Toronto where she rented a house.
As for the nuance of giving up "senior royal duties" ... there is only a small group of royals who, in the absence of the Queen, carry out the duties of the Monarchy. Harry and Meghan will no longer be part of that group.
As we reported, Meghan has had an extremely difficult time adjusting to royal life and the fishbowl she found herself in. She made it clear during a recent interview ... she was not okay and struggling with her new position.

Mac Miller has a new album coming out a little over a year after his death from an overdose, and his family says a well-known producer was a key figure in bringing it to fruition.
A message with the news was posted to Mac's official Instagram account Wednesday, announcing a posthumous record was set to be released on Jan. 17 -- two days before what would've been his 28th birthday -- and the project is called "Circles."
His fam says it's meant to be a complimentary piece to his last album, "Swimming," with the idea being ... Swimming in Circles. They also say record producer and composer Jon Brion was a major contributor in completing it.
7:46 AM PT -- 1/8 -- TMZ's obtained Sullivan's mug shot.
7:15 PM PT -- Police say Michael Sullivan has been released from the hospital and arrested for murder.
3:06 PM PT -- Swae just tweeted, "I pray this world let's me keep some compassion."
Rae Sremmurd's stepfather -- who helped raised them since they were young -- is dead after a shooting in Mississippi, and police have their brother in custody.
Tupelo PD says officers were dispatched Monday night to a home where they found a man who'd died on the scene from at least a couple gunshot wounds. According to our law enforcement sources ... Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi's younger half-brother, Michael Sullivan, is being held for psychiatric evaluation.
At this point, they're calling the 19-year-old a person of interest in the shooting.
The Lee County Medical Examiner tells TMZ the victim is 62-year-old Floyd Sullivan. He's Swae and Slim's stepdad. He's raised them ever since the boys were in middle school, and moved to Mississippi with their mother, Bernadette. Floyd also has a son, Floyd Jr., from a previous relationship.
Police say no one else is being sought in connection with the killing.
It's unclear how much Slim or Swae know about what went down. We've reached out to a rep for the duo, but so far ... no word back.

Amber Portwood got screwed out of spending time with her son over the holidays, and the kid suffered a vicious dog bite her baby daddy tried to cover up ... or so she claims in legal docs.
Amber says she and Andrew Glennon had a custody agreement in place which allotted her parenting time with their 1-year-old son, James, during Christmas ... but she claims he bolted out of state with the boy without proper notice.
According to docs, obtained by TMZ, Amber says the next shock came when Andrew hit her up on Xmas Day to say James was "nipped" by a family dog and had to go to the ER.
She claims Andrew waited 3 days after that to send her a photo of the injury, and never shared info about James' initial ER visit. In the docs, she says the photo showed James had a black eye and a bandaged nose, "indicating that the injury was more than a 'nip.'"
Brat Pitt thanked all the usual suspects after winning a Golden Globe -- except his children, which was an intentional and strategic move for their well-being.
If you missed it ... Pitt took home the Best Supporting Actor award Sunday night for his role in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood." He shouted out fellow nominees, director Quentin Tarantino, costar Leonardo DiCaprio and also his parents -- but he made no mention of his 6 kids.
It was a curious omission, but our sources closely connected to Brad say this is par for the course -- he never mentions them publicly and wants it to remain that way. We're told he feels this is the best way to maintain their privacy, because he knows simply acknowledging his children in a speech could attract unwanted attention.
Mama June and her boyfriend, Geno, are keeping their nomadic lifestyle alive and well -- 'cause they just got kicked out of one hotel ... and are on their way to another.
Sources tell TMZ ... MJ has been renting a couple different rooms for herself, Geno and some friends at the Residence Inn Marriott in McDonough, GA since around Thanksgiving time -- and recently, her tab started running up to the $2,000 mark ... which went unattended.
We're told on Saturday, the staff notified Mama June -- who's apparently been in and out, as we've seen her pop up elsewhere in the area -- it was time to pay up, but that she refused. Or rather, we're told she couldn't pay it off in full ... coming up shy a few hundred bucks.
Our sources say Mama June and co. were told they had to scram ... and, apparently, announced they were heading to another joint down the street. We're also told the rooms were a mess, but have since been cleaned. Unclear if there was as much damage as there was at the FairBridge Inn & Suites, where we're told they recently crashed at ... allegedly leaving a room in ruins after a fight.
Of course, this is just the latest chapter in Mama June's spiraling story since she first linked up with this guy, whom her family really, REALLY wants out of her life.
Doesn't look like she's ditching him just yet though. Until next time, we suppose ...
11:01 AM PT -- Chester Bennington's widow tied the knot again in what seemed to be quite the elegant affair -- and it looks like she and her new hubby went with the Midas touch theme.
TMZ obtained photos of Talinda Bennington and Michael Fredman's wedding reception venue at the Turtle Bay Resort in Kahuku, HI ... and it's clear they didn't spare any expense at decking the place out. They even had a welcome sign with their names embroidered in.
Even the cutlery and chargers appeared to be matching in white and gold, and the tables on which they sat were draped in white cloths. Standard stuff, of course, but still ... pretty fancy-schmnacy if you ask us. But, wait 'til you get a load of their wedding cake.
It was a three-tier pastry and beautifully decorated. Definitely well-thought-out and planned, all in all. Again ... congrats to the happy couple!
Talinda Bennington has tied the knot again ... and her wedding ceremony went down close to a date that's already significant to her.
Chester's widow got remarried around New Year's Eve -- to L.A. County firefighter Michael Fredman -- at Turtle Bay Resort in Kahuku, Hawaii ... according to sources close to the family. They've been hanging and celebrating there in the days since.
We're told Talinda and Chester's 3 children -- son Tyler and twins Lilly and Lila -- were there along with other friends and family members.
Interestingly, Talinda married Chester on New Year's Eve ... back in 2005.
What would you do if you won $1 million? Well, Kayla Harrison's got the money ... and some ideas on how to spend it.
Harrison -- one of the biggest stars in MMA -- beat Larissa Pacheco and won this year's PFL tournament ... which comes with an over-sized million dollar check.
So, we hit her up and asked how she's gonna spend the money ... and she's considering using part of the big ass check to honor her father.
"My dad passed away a while ago and he used to love fixing up old American muscle cars. So, the last car he had that he really wanted to fix up when I was a kid was a ’69 Camaro. So I’ve kind of been rolling around the idea of getting a Camaro."
Kayla says her dad actually unloaded his favorite old -school muscle car back in the day to get her, her bro and sis some quads ... so copping the Camaro would be special for her and her family.
"I just remember [the Camaro] from being a kid. He was fixing it up and he actually sold it to buy me and my brother and sister four-wheelers for Christmas. So I was like damn I need to get that Camaro in his memory."
That's not all ... Kayla -- who also says she's gonna donate a bunch of the cash to her Fearless Foundation -- says winning the money (and the tournament) is literally a dream come true.
"I feel good, life is good, I’m happy. Damn, I’m blessed. Like are you kidding me? I never thought that in a million years that, a million no pun intended, I never thought in a million years that I’d be making millions of dollars doing what I love."
"I’ve come a long way from that 16-year-old girl with $200 in her pocket, to a millionaire by 30. What the hell. Dreams do come true."
But, she isn't done ... Harrison says she's gunnin' for the million-dollar prize again next year.
What do you get when Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and Prince George all meet up for a Christmas lunch?
The first Royal Family portrait of the new decade, that's what.
The Royals just released the epic photograph of a smiling Queen Elizabeth with Their Royal Highnesses -- Prince Charles, his son Prince William, and his son Prince George -- all gathered together in the Throne Room at Buckingham Palace.
The pic -- which features 4 generations of potential Heads of State in the United Kingdom -- was snapped by Ranald Mackechnie.
Of course, there's speculation the Queen wants to bypass Prince Charles for king and crown the Duke ... but those are just rumors. The Prince of Wales will likely get his time at the top.
Another interesting note -- the Royal portrait appears to have been taken the same day as the Queen's Christmas lunch, in which the foursome also made pudding together.
Turns out ... it may have just been because Will and George had to go early for the now-famous photo.
Jenji Kohan, who created "Weeds" and "Orange Is the New Black," is remembering her late son as her "best work" ... but she says his fatal skiing accident has left her "broken."
Jenji says she can't even come up with a list of adjectives to describe her kid with justice ... which is saying a lot coming from a supremely talented writer.
TMZ broke the story ... Jenji's 20-year-old son, Charlie Noxon, died on New Year's Eve after crashing into a sign on the ski slopes in Park City, Utah. We're told he was skiing alone at the time of the crash, with his family ahead of him on the ski run. He crashed into a sign, was airlifted to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.
Jenji just shared a heartfelt tribute to Charlie ... saying she's doesn't "understand what life is now without him in the world." She adds she doesn't understand where he's gone and wonders if the tragedy is real.
Charlie, who appeared on an episode of "Weeds" back in 2008, was a junior at Columbia where he was studying economics, philosophy and Chinese. Memorial services are being held Sunday at Temple Israel of Hollywood.
The son of the woman who created "Weeds" and "Orange Is the New Black" tragically died after crashing into a sign on the ski slopes ... TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Charlie Noxon was skiing down the intermediate run in Park City when he came upon a fork. We're told Noxon had two choices -- left or right. Our sources say Noxon was unable to successfully navigate the move and instead slammed into a direction sign.
We're told Noxon was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. Our sources say there were no witnesses and no surveillance video. Our law enforcement sources say they based their findings on where the body was found. Noxon was skiing alone at the time of the accident. His family was ahead of him on the ski run.
Marky Mark and the fam bam hit up Barbados ... where it apparently was blazing hot. Beats the New England winter, for sure. Mark and his son were spotted taking a dip in the warm Caribbean waters. Mark, of course, was shirtless and there were zero signs he put on holiday weight.
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom ended up in the ski resort town of Aspen, Colorado ... where they shopped their freezing butts off. Seems they tried to stay on the DL while in the Rockies ... with Katy wearing a fuzzy green beanie and Orlando a cowboy hat.
Fallon, his wife, Nancy, and 2 daughters spent New Year's at the Happiest Place on Earth. They grinned ear-to-ear while hopping on tons of rides. They also went shopping.
Miami was also poppin' ... with CNN's Don Lemon and his fiance, Tim Malone, soaking up the sun. Ditto for 50 Cent and his GF, Jamira Haines. Jamie Foxx and his rumored GF, Sela Vave, did what peeps partying in Miami do best ... hopped on a yacht.
Actress Mollie Fitzgerald -- who had a small role in "Captain America: The First Avenger" -- is accused of fatally stabbing her mother in Kansas.
Fitzgerald was arrested Tuesday by police in Olathe, Kansas and is reportedly charged with second-degree murder. She's being held on $500k bond.
The arrest comes after cops found her 68-year-old mother, Patricia, dead from an apparent stab wound inside her home on Dec. 20. Cops say they responded to a call of an armed disturbance, and Mollie was contacted on the scene and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Police say the case remains under investigation, but have not provided additional details yet.
Fitzgerald played Stark girl in the 2011 Marvel film, and is also listed as a director and producer of some low-budget short films, including 2017's "The Creeps."
She's reportedly set to be arraigned Thursday.
The son of the woman who created "Orange Is the New Black" and "Weeds" has died in a skiing accident ... TMZ has learned.
20-year-old Charlie Noxon had an accident on the slopes of Park City, Utah on New Year's Eve. Law enforcement says he fell, and it was apparent he needed immediate medical attention. A helicopter from the University of Utah's Medivac Unit was dispatched and took Charlie to a nearby hospital. He was later pronounced dead.
Aside from saying Noxon fell, there were no other details available concerning the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Charlie appeared in an episode of "Weeds" back in 2008. His mom, Jenji Kohan, and his dad, journalist Christopher Noxon, divorced in 2018 after 21 years of marriage.
Charlie was in Park City with his dad and 2 siblings when the accident occurred.
The Medical Examiner currently has the body and has not yet performed an autopsy.
4:02 PM PT -- According to the docs ... Gilbert lists the date of separation as August 13. She requests that no spousal support be awarded to either Perry or herself.
The "Roseanne" star filed paperwork in L.A. Friday for a legal separation with minor children. The couple wed in March 2014 at a rock concert-like ceremony, and Gilbert gave birth to their son, Rhodes Emilio Gilbert Perry, in February 2015.
Sara also has 2 children from a previous relationship
It's interesting ... Gilbert, who created and cohosted the daytime talk show, "The Talk," announced she was leaving in April to spend more time with her family. Of course, at the time, the "Roseanne" spin-off, "The Conners," was also in full swing.
Perry is best known as the lead singer and songwriter of the '90s rock band, 4 Non Blondes, and has also founded 2 record labels and helped produce hits for artists like Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani and P!nk.
