Richard Sherman Arrest 911 Audio Caller Says NFL Star Was Threatening to Kill Himself

"HE'S BEING AGRESSIVE"

A 911 caller says Richard Sherman drank two bottles of hard alcohol and was threatening to kill himself before he was arrested on Wednesday ... new police audio, obtained TMZ Sports, reveals.

In the call, which was 4 minutes in length, a woman who ID'ed herself as Sherman's wife told dispatch the NFL star was "drunk and belligerent and threatening to kill himself."

The woman was frantic -- breathing heavily and speaking quickly -- and was pleading for dispatch to send officers to her home in Washington right away.

"I need officers here now!" the woman can be heard saying on the call. "He's trying to leave now. In the house, he was being aggressive. He was wrestling with my uncle. He's threatening to kill himself. He has sent text messages to people saying he's going to hang himself."

"And, he's saying that if the police show up -- please don't shoot is what I'm asking."

The woman continued, "He said if the police show up, he'll try to fight them."

The woman then can be heard saying she was worried that Sherman was going to leave the home ... telling dispatch, "It's Richard Sherman! Like, ma'am, this is, like, a f***ing emergency! I need officers here now!"

It should be noted the 911 dispatcher appeared annoyed and frustrated multiple times with the woman on the call ... telling her at one point, "Listen to me! I'm handling this! You need to stop telling me that!"

The caller eventually told the 911 dispatcher that Sherman had drank 1 bottle of vodka and 1 bottle of Hennessey ... and was concerned for everyone's safety.

As we previously reported, Sherman was arrested a short time following the call ... after cops say he tried to break into his in-laws' home in Redmond, Wash.

Ex-Marshall Star Jaquan Yulee Dead At 24 After Horrific Car Crash

Former Marshall football star Jaquan Yulee tragically died in a horrific car crash in Virginia on Tuesday ... law enforcement officials confirmed.

He was just 24 years old.

According to the Suffolk Police Department, Yulee was driving alone in a rural area of Suffolk when his car was involved in an accident and flipped on its roof.

Cops say they arrived on the scene at around 7:12 PM Tuesday ... and pronounced Yulee dead a short time later.

Officials say an investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.

Yulee was a touted recruit at Indian River H.S. in Virginia back in 2016 ... and despite receiving offers from Alabama, Clemson and Florida, he decided to go to Marshall instead.

The 6-foot-1, 242-pound linebacker played a key role for the Herd after redshirting in 2016 ... logging 42 total tackles, 3 forced fumbles and 1 sack in his redshirt freshman and sophomore seasons.

He got his first career start in his junior year in 2019 ... but in that game, he broke his neck and didn't play for the rest of the season.

Yulee, though, worked his ass off the last two years and was finally medically cleared to play again just last month.

He had been looking to enroll at Virginia State University, Central State University or Virginia Union University for his next college football stop.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of former Marshall football student-athlete Jaquan Yulee," the Marshall football team said in a statement Wednesday.

"His energy and ability to connect with so many in our fanbase was exemplary. He will be missed by so many in the Thundering Herd."

Peyton Manning Bungles 1st Pitch At All-Star Game ... What Was That???

Peyton Manning looked absolutely nothing like one of the greatest athletes ever on Tuesday ... botching the ceremonial first pitch at the MLB All-Star Game -- and it was pretty terrible.

The former Broncos QB was tapped by baseball officials to kick off the big night at Coors Field in Denver ... and, boy, did he disappoint in the role.

Check out the clip ... Manning took the bump, reared back with an ugly wind-up, and then fired a fastball that didn't even reach home plate.

Seriously, it wasn't good.

In fact, the ball bounced so far from being a strike ... it had to be knocked down by Rockies pitcher German Marquez to save Peyton from all-time embarrassment.

You can tell from the footage, even Manning was disappointed with the toss ... he shook his head and threw up his hands before receiving the ball back from Marquez.

Of course, Manning's been retired from being a star athlete for more than 5 years now ... so maybe the 45-year-old deserves a pass here.

And, hey, at least it wasn't nearly as bad as Dr. Fauci's debacle on the mound last July!!!

Washington Football Team Rules Out 'Warriors' Name Change ... After Native American Feedback

D.C.'s NFL squad will NOT be the Washington "Warriors" in the future ... the Washington Football Team announced Monday it has ruled out the potential name change due to feedback from Native American community members.

WFT President Jason Wright explained it all in a lengthy letter posted to the team's website ... saying the "Warriors" nickname -- which many fans have advocated for going forward -- simply did not distance the team enough from its former identity.

"Feedback from across communities we engaged clearly revealed deep-seated discomfort around Warriors, with the clear acknowledgment that it too closely aligns with Native American themes," Wright said.

"Such an embrace of potentially Native-adjacent iconography and imagery would not represent a clear departure that many communities have so forcefully advocated for us to embrace, and that frankly, we set out to do when we started this process a year ago."

Wright didn't say what other monikers have been axed from contention ... adding only, "We will choose an identity that unequivocally departs from any use of or approximate linkage to Native American imagery."

"As I have said many times before, our new identity should unite us," Wright said. "It should bring us together the way this team comes together on the football field and the way we have seen our Fans come together and proudly support our Team and our DMV community."

Wright and WFT owner Dan Snyder have said repeatedly over the last few months there is currently no deadline to establish a new, permanent nickname for the team.

"I feel like we was kind of embarrassed on national TV during the biggest game, you know, in the last game of the year."

UPDATE

UPDATE

Clark and the other man were both arrested.

NFL superstar Frank Clark is now facing up to 3 YEARS behind bars ... after prosecutors hit him with a felony charge of possession of an assault weapon Friday, TMZ Sports has learned.

We're told Clark was arrested by California Highway Patrol on March 13th after allegedly being caught with an illegal firearm shortly after midnight.

It's not the first time he's run into this kind of trouble -- as we previously reported, Clark was arrested on June 20 ... after cops say they saw an uzi in his Lambo SUV during a routine traffic stop.

Officers say the firearm was sitting inside of an open duffle bag in the ride ... so they arrested the 28-year-old Chiefs pass rusher.

According to a source close to Clark, the football player claimed the gun was NOT his ... and instead belonged to a member of his security team.

Prosecutors have NOT yet charged Clark for the June incident.

If convicted on the charge from the March incident, Clark faces up to three years behind bars.

The two-time Pro Bowler is due in court next week for a hearing on the matter.

Clark is one of the Chiefs' best players ... he's logged 14 sacks since joining K.C in 2019, and is in the middle of a 5-year, $104 MILLION contract.

Patrick Mahomes Rips USATF Over Sha'Carri Snub ... 'Ridiculous'

Patrick Mahomes ain't pleased that USA Track & Field officials left Sha'Carri Richardson off the Olympic roster this week ... calling the snub "pretty ridiculous."

The NFL superstar explained his thoughts on the matter Thursday on "First Take" ... clearly believing USATF should've added Richardson to the team, despite her recent positive marijuana test.

"She put in the work," the Chiefs quarterback said. "Even though she made a mistake -- like we all make mistakes in whatever way that is -- but to give her an almost extra ban, to not let her be at the Olympics at all, it's pretty ridiculous to me."

As we previously reported, Richardson tested positive for pot after the Olympic Trials last month ... and was subsequently hit with a 1-month ban as punishment.

The penalty -- while wiping away her opportunity to race in the Tokyo Olympics' 100-meter sprint -- still was set to end in time for her to potentially run for USA in the 4x100-meter relay.

But, USATF officials announced Tuesday they were still leaving her off the team ... explaining, "All USATF athletes are equally aware of and must adhere to the current anti-doping code, and our credibility as the National Governing Body would be lost if rules were only enforced under certain circumstances."

Mahomes called B.S. on all on Thursday, though ... saying, "For her to be left off, after all the hard work and dedication that she's put into the sport, and for her to be one of those bright young stars for the USA, it's just disappointing."

ALL IS WELL

For her part, Richardson -- who said she turned to weed to deal with the sorrow of losing her biological mother -- told TMZ Sports she was "accepting" of the snub and trying to maintain a positive outlook on it all.

NFL's Drew Lock Lug Nut Smashes Into QB's Car ... But Broncos Star Avoids Catastrophe

Drew Lock is VERY fortunate to be uninjured today ... cops say a stray lug nut smashed into the QB's windshield on the road on Wednesday -- but, thankfully, it didn't hurt the NFL star.

The Kansas Highway Patrol assisted Lock after his car had the run in with the wheel nut ... and in pictures they posted, you can see just how close Lock was to catastrophe.

The nut hit the Denver Broncos signal-caller's ride so hard ... it wedged itself into the glass, causing major damage and nearly shattering the whole thing.

Lock, though, walked away from it all just fine ... and even took a smiling picture afterward with the officers who helped him out!!

One of the KHP troopers who was on the scene told KDVR after the incident that he believed Lock's athleticism played a role in keeping him safe throughout the ordeal.

"He did what we want," the trooper said. "He was alert. He was quick to react and start taking the actions needed to keep himself and others safe."

Props to Drew for staying calm ... now breathe easy, Broncos fans!

Rutgers Football Player KO'd In Violent Street Fight ... Alleged Puncher Charged W/ Assault

UPDATE

3:23 PM PT -- Cops say Davis' punch suspect has now been charged with one count of simple assault ... adding witnesses told them the whole fight started because of a tiff during a 4th of July beach football game.

UPDATE

The Margate City Police Dept. tells TMZ Sports ... witnesses told them Davis and 26-year-old Alexander A. Denafo were playing on the sand when they got into an argument.

UPDATE

Cops say witnesses told them the verbal altercation then spilled onto a nearby street ... where the two men then physically fought.

UPDATE

According to police, medical officials responded to the scene initially based on a report that Davis had fallen and split his lip.

UPDATE

Later, though, cops say they learned of "the serious nature of Davis' injuries" and launched an investigation ... ultimately leading to a criminal charge against Denafo.

UPDATE

Cops tell us Denafo is due in court to face the charge on July 26.

UPDATE

They added Davis was released from the hospital on Tuesday after being treated for his injuries.

Carnell Davis -- a freshman wide receiver on the Rutgers football team -- was reportedly knocked out by a violent punch in a street fight ... and the whole incident was apparently caught on video.

It's unclear where and when the altercation took place ... but The Press of Atlantic City reports the 6-foot-1, 175-pound wideout is the shirtless man wearing blue shorts in the footage that was posted on social media this week.

In the clip, you can see the man purported to be Davis, get into a tiff with another shirtless male in a red hat apparently over comments about Davis' mother.

The man in the blue shorts can be heard on the footage saying, "you were just talking about you were going to f*** my mom" -- before the two squared up to fight.

Eventually, the man in the red hat tagged the other male in the chin with a right hook ... sending him crashing to the ground.

It's unknown if Davis suffered any severe injuries ... a spokesperson for the Rutgers football team issued a short statement to The Press of Atlantic City, only saying the freshman is currently at home "recovering."

"Our main concern is Carnell’s health and well-being," the spokesperson said. "He is home with his family and continues to make progress in his recovery."

"We look forward to getting him back on campus soon."

We've reached out to both Rutgers and law enforcement for further comment, but so far, no word back yet.

Davis -- who played his senior season of H.S. football at Eau Gallie in Florida in 2020 -- signed on to play for Rutgers in Dec. 2020 and enrolled in the school just weeks later.

He was a touted H.S. recruit -- piling up offers from 24 schools, including Auburn, before landing with the Scarlet Knights.

UPDATE

UPDATE

"I am confident that Cameron will represent the Navy well in the NFL, just as he did as a standout athlete and class president at the Naval Academy."

UPDATE

"After his NFL career is over, he will continue to make us proud as an officer in the United States Navy."

Former U.S. Navy football star Cameron Kinley is officially a professional football player ... 'cause the U.S. military just gave him the green light to play ball.

Kinley -- who recently graduated from the Naval  Academy -- was signed by TB as a free agent after going undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The only issue ... Kinley committed to serving as an officer in the Navy after graduating, and the U.S. Military was NOT budging in allowing him to delay his service.

That is until the Secretary of Defense, Retired General Lloyd Austin, reversed the Navy's course ... and decided to let Kinley play ball.

"I am extremely appreciative of Secretary Austin's decision and I am excited to represent our fine military in the National Football League," Kinley wrote in a statement.

Cameron later continued ... "Lastly, thank you to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization for believing in me and remaining patient with me throughout this process. I am excited to get back to work in Tampa Bay with my teammates."

LET ME LIVE MY DREAM

Kinley -- who asked President Biden for help -- recently told us head coach Bruce Arians gave him until the start of Bucs training camp on July 24 to straighten out his status.

Cameron did that ... and with a few weeks to spare.

WE HAVE HIS BACK
The Cris Collinsworth Podcast featuring Richard Sherman

Derek Carr says he doesn't anticipate any issues whatsoever arising from Carl Nassib's gay announcement ... but the QB made it clear, if any do come up, the Raiders will defend their teammate vigorously.

"He's our brother," Las Vegas' star signal-caller said of the pass rusher. "So, if you want to mess with him, you have to go through us."

Carr explained his feelings on Nassib on the "The Cris Collinsworth Podcast featuring Richard Sherman" this week ... and he didn't hold back, speaking very candidly.

6/21/21
"MEANING TO DO THIS FOR AWHILE"
@carlnassib / Instagram

The 30-year-old admitted there might be some people in Vegas' locker room that don't agree with Nassib's lifestyle ... but he insisted every single Raider still plans on being there for Carl regardless.

"Our team has been all for having his back," Carr said. "That doesn't mean everyone agrees with the lifestyle or agrees with that."

"But, we live in a country nowadays like people think if you don't agree then you can't love one another and have their back. And, like, that is the farthest thing from the truth."

Carr continued, "And so there are some guys that have raised a question or two. But, they all say without a doubt we have his back."

Carr explained he believes the Raiders are like a family ... and, therefore, everyone in the team's facility "has each other's back at any moment."

"I hope that no one makes it difficult for him, and I'm talking about the outside coming in," Carr said of Nassib. "Because inside of our building, he's going to be loved just like he's always been loved. Just like everyone on our team is always treated."

As we previously reported, Nassib became the first openly gay NFL player EVER with his video announcement last month.

A MESSAGE FROM THE NFL
NFL

The clip was inspiring ... and prompted the NFL to release a powerful video proclaiming, "Football is gay."

Carr, Nassib and the Raiders are set to open training camp later this month ... before kicking off their season in September.

Aaron Rodgers QB Won't Commit To Playing For Packers In 2021 ... 'We'll See'

Packers fans are going to HATE this ...

Aaron Rodgers would NOT commit to playing for Green Bay in 2021 ... saying on Tuesday not much more than "we'll see" when he was questioned about his future as a Packer.

The star quarterback was in the middle of his golf round against Tom Brady at "The Match" in Montana ... when he was asked TWICE about the upcoming season.

Both times, Rodgers ducked the questions ... being as non-committal as ever about his future under center in Green Bay.

"Yeah, I don't know," Rodgers said when asked about playing against the Chicago Bears this season. "We'll see. We'll see, won't we?"

Rodgers added after being asked about the Packers' season-opener against the Saints, "I don't know. We'll see."

Of course, Rodgers is in the middle of a tiff with Green Bay's front office ... reportedly upset over his contract situation and some of the team's recent personnel moves.

The Packers have vowed to try to do everything in their power to repair the relationship ... but Aaron's icy comments Tuesday have to have the team worried.

The 37-year-old star QB skipped out on all of Green Bay's offseason workouts ... and it's unclear if he has any plans to be at Packers training camp when it kicks off later this month.
