The victims of a shocking double murder -- "American Idol" music supervisor Robin Kaye and her husband Thomas Deluca -- had three pets ... who TMZ has learned are safe and sound.

Los Angeles Police Department Lieutenant Guy Golan tells TMZ ... the couple had three pets -- a small white dog, a tortoise and a parrot -- and all three were found alive and unharmed. They were turned over to friends and family, we're told.

We've also confirmed with our law enforcement sources that authorities recovered a handgun at the scene, which they will test to determine if it belongs to the victims or the suspect.

Britney Spears is NOT a new mother to a baby girl or a puppy, despite what she's telling folks on social media ... TMZ has learned.

Here's the deal ... Britney raised eyebrows over the weekend when she posted another dance video on her Instagram page and dropped this nugget in the caption, "I want to let you guys know I adopted a beautiful baby girl 😉😉😉 !!! Her name is Lennon London Spears 🤪🤪🤪."

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... she did NOT adopt a child and she's just messing with people, hence the 😉 emojis in her caption.

The ex "Scandal" star beelined it to court this week and filed for a temporary restraining order against his wife, alleging a series of domestic violence incidents involving him and the puppy.

In the docs, obtained by TMZ, Columbus claims his wife Aida roughed up his 10-week-old pooch on Monday ... and when he confronted her, she got physically violent and hit him multiple times in the face, busting his eye open and drawing blood.
