Britney Spears Sam Rips Brit Documentaries

Sam Asghari ain't a fan of the Britney docs, that's for sure, because he shaded them all on the heels of the latest.

Sam got a jump on "Controlling Britney Spears," which aired on FX Friday night, saying, "Past docs left a bad after taste. I'm hoping this one will be respectful."

Sam wasn't done, saying, "I question producers who made them 'just to shed light' without input or approval from subject [Britney]."

Sam's loyalties are clearly stated when he says, "Any credit for light being shed should go to #freebritney."

Britney said back in March she cried for 2 days after watching "Framing Britney Spears."

This all comes days before an enormously important court hearing, when Jamie will almost certainly say goodbye to the conservatorship. Britney's lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, has filed legal docs declaring his intention to make a case for ending the conservatorship altogether this fall.

The big question -- and the one that could be make-or-break -- is whether the judge orders a mental evaluation as a prelude for deciding whether to 86 the 13-year-old conservatorship. Britney, Rosengart and Jamie Spears have all said they wanted the conservatorship terminated without such an evaluation.

There have been 2 dozen medical professionals who have weighed in over the years in closed court, presenting their diagnoses. If the judge orders an evaluation, this could turn into a war of the doctors, and the judge will have to decide who's more credible.

The judge has already said Britney was capable of hiring her own lawyer, and that's a clear sign she's competent to run her own life. What's more, now that she's engaged to Sam and Britney's personal conservator, Jodi Montgomery, has agreed to stay on and work for Britney post-conservatorship, the judge may feel she now has a good safety neet.

The hearing is Wednesday.

JLo Bustin' Moves with Ja Rule and LL ... For Global Citizens Festival

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT
BACKGRID

Jennifer Lopez took a trip to Central Park in NYC Friday night, to rehearse for the big concert Saturday.

J Lo hit the stage with Ja Rule and LL Cool J at around 8 PM and went through the paces, rehearsing 5 songs. They were on stage for a half hour, prepping for Saturday's Global Citizens Festival.

Two of the songs were collabs with Ja Rule and LL ... 3 were J Lo's, including "Dinero." She and Ja Rule sang "Ain't it Funny."

The woman who just said she feels like a Hollywood outsider will be at the center of the action tonight. And, it's a good bet Ben will be watching ... and cheering, and maybe even busting a move or 2!

Ben and Jen have been inseparable for months, and, as we reported, they are looking for houses together in L.A. -- super-expensive houses, with price tags that go north of $80 million.

J.K. Simmons L.A. Area Home Hit by Burglar ... LAPD On the Case

J.K. Simmons knows a thing or two when it comes to homeowners insurance ... which should come in handy after someone broke into his pad.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... the Hollywood tough guy and Farmers Insurance spokesman was the victim of a burglary after cops got a call from his San Fernando Valley home at around 8 PM Thursday night.

Our sources say one of J.K.'s workers showed up at the house and found a glass door smashed. Thing is ... we're told the house was not ransacked and it doesn't appear as though anything was missing. At least at first glance.

Cops say J.K. and his wife were not home at the time of the break-in ... they were out of town, so they'll have to assess what may or may not be missing when they return.

At this moment, it's unclear if an alarm went off at the house and scared the intruder away. But, it seems J.K.'s home came away unscathed ... aside from the broken glass door.

We're told the LAPD is investigating the burglary/attempted burglary. J.K., of course, is known for his role in the 'Spider-Man' films and TV roles such as "Law & Order" and HBO's "Oz." But, to most young folks ... he's the guy who pimps Farmers Insurance.

Let's hope he's covered.

Kelly Clarkson Officially Divorced

Kelly Clarkson has been a single woman for nearly 2 months, TMZ has learned, but a clerical error has thrown everyone off the scent.

Brandon Blackstock's lawyer, Samantha Spector, filed legal docs which lays out what has been decided so far in the divorce and what issues remain. There's a notation in the docs, saying the actual divorce will become final on 1-7-2022. That obviously makes it seem like Kelly and Brandon are still married.

We've learned this was a screw-up by the clerk, who mistakenly wrote 1-7-2022. In fact, Kelly and Brandon have been divorced since August 3. We're told the clerk is correcting the mistake.

TMZ broke the story ... the judge has already upheld the prenup -- something Brandon was aggressively contesting. There was a trial and the judge said Brandon signed it fair and square. That said, the property issues should be fairly easy to resolve, although in a nasty divorce -- which this is -- nothing should be taken for granted.

Kelly's income is separate, and considerable ... she earns $1.9 million a month. Brandon makes $10k a month.

The judge has awarded Kelly primary custody of their 2 kids on a temporary basis. As we reported, Brandon is living at the former couple's ranch in Montana and Kelly is with the kids in L.A. BTW, because the prenup has been upheld, the ranch is owned by Kelly, and she wants Brandon out, but he's still there.

'The View' 2 Co-Hosts Test Positive for COVID ... Seconds Before VP Harris Hits Stage!!!

EMERGENCY EXIT
ABC
UPDATE

10:55 AM PT -- We got Joy leaving the building right after the show ended and she admits ... "this was a crazy day but that's live television." The one silver lining ... Joy says at least the COVID case was caught BEFORE Harris joined them at the table.

UPDATE
THE SHOW GOES ON
TMZ.com
UPDATE

Joy, who says she tested negative, adds it's a bummer the ladies didn't have that face-to-face interaction with the Veep ... but she hopes Harris will come back and visit.

UPDATE

9:34 AM PT -- A source connected to the show tells us both Sunny and Ana took additional rapid tests backstage that came back negative. We're told both will need to submit to further testing before being able to return to work.

UPDATE

9:23 AM PT -- VP Harris just addressed the situation with Sunny and Ana, using the moment to highlight the importance of getting vaccinated.

UPDATE

Full panic at "The View" Friday morning, as 2 of its co-hosts tested positive for COVID-19 just as VP Kamala Harris was set to appear on the set with them.

During a commercial break on Friday's show, co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro were told they had to leave the stage. Joy Behar later announced Sunny and Ana had to leave because they'd tested positive for COVID-19.

You can see there's a bit of confusion as to whether Joy should still announce Kamala on the show. A producer's heard saying yes before someone shouts "no."

Harris still appeared on the show, but had to do so remotely. She was still in the building, and did the interview from her green room. Safety first, of course.

As for Sunny and Ana ... no one on set seems too concerned about their breakthrough cases. Joy intimated they'll be fine, because they're both vaccinated "up the wazoo."

The news is a bit of a bummer for the live audience members who came to see Harris. The show heavily promoted her appearance ... saying Harris would be live at the table, an historic event for the show to have a sitting Veep.

'Masked Singer' Big Season 6 Premiere ... Tapping the Kardashians!!!

It's that time of the year again -- "The Masked Singer" is on a roll ... and wouldn't ya know it, there might be Kardashian clout among the contestants. You heard it here first, folks.

Production sources tell TMZ ... somebody in and around the Kardashian empire will be all costumed up for this season from head to toe, and if that manifests like we're hearing ... they'll be singing their heart out as part of next week's Group B premiere.

Kiiiinda makes you wonder if Kim K was on to something last week at the Met Gala ... or perhaps telegraphing what's to come on the big stage. She herself was fully covered in something very similar. 😅

Anyway, we know what you're thinking -- the Kardashian clan is pretty damn big, so it could literally be anybody. True ... but you gotta figure that if it's any one of the sisters (sans Khloe and Kendall, who are tall AF) the costume they get stuffed in might match that height.

One person we're sure it WON'T be is ... Caitlyn Jenner. She showed up last season as the Phoenix, and got the boot relatively early. So, yeah ... they ain't gonna be double-dipping there. It's gotta be someone else entirely -- only question is ... who???

BACKSTAGE AT "THE MASKED SINGER"
Fox

Oh and FWIW, we've learned that one of the BEST singers this season will be unmasked in the first few weeks ... in what many backstage are calling one of the biggest upsets ever.

Stay tuned!

Debra Messing Can't Fathom Kim K as 'SNL' Host ... 'Am I Missing Something?' Yes You Are!!!

Debra Messing became a huge TV star in the late '90s, and apparently, she thinks "Saturday Night Live" operates the same as it did back then ... because she doesn't have a clue why Kim Kardashian's hosting it.

The "Will & Grace" star took the bait after it was revealed the reality star would become the first Kardashian to host 'SNL' next month by airing her grievances on Twitter.

Debra questioned the choice, then added a back-handed compliment by saying ... "I know she is a cultural icon, but SNL has hosts, generally, who are performers who are there to promote a film, TV show, or album launch."

She added, "Am I missing something?"

Yep, she's missing something. The world changed, and reality stars are at the center of pop culture and Lorne Michaels is not only a great producer but a businessman who's in the business of getting ratings ... and that's exactly what's gonna happen when Kim hosts.  Remember a decade ago, when actors groused that reality stars like the Kardashians were famous for doing nothing? Debra clearly hasn't let it go.

What's more, the Kardashians have a massive project coming to Hulu, a leading TV and film streaming service ... so Messing is clearly just out of the loop.

You may recall ... when Elon Musk was tapped to host last season, many people were up in arms about it because he's not an entertainer.

Oh yeah, and one of those people ... was Debra Messing.

As for shading Kim, fans let Messing have it, one saying, "Yes Debra, you are missing something. Like the last 40 years." Another jabbed, "She’s arguably one of the most famous people in the world. It’s a smart decision by SNL ... Ppl who say she’s famous for being famous would kill to be famous for being famous. She uses her platform for positive things. Everyone RELAX"

Kim's yet to reply to Debra, but instead tweeted her excitement about hosting the October 9 gig with musical guest Halsey. Kim said, "OMFG no turning back now!!!! LOL I’m hosting SNL!!!!!!"

'Masked Singer' 1 of the Wild Cards Made Out w/ Jenny ... Can You Guess Who?!?

"The Masked Singer" is off and running -- and so are their wild card contestants ... one of whom locked lips once upon a time with Jenny McCarthy. Question is ... who??? 👀

Here's the deal ... we've learned there will be two costumed crooners on Thursday's episode that come out of left field and are unpredictable in every sense of the word ... making 'em way harder to figure out than perhaps any other masked singer in the past. But ... we have a really good clue.

Production sources tell TMZ .... one of these wild cards actually made out with JMC in the past. Now, that isn't to say you can look at Jenny's dating history and figure it out, because, let's face it ... making out and dating are not necessarily one in the same. HOWEVER, we're told it could be someone she dated ... emphasis on COULD.

There's the Jim Carrey era, the Brian Urlacher days ... and then the Chris Hardwick rumors from MTV's 'Singled Out' days. We're not saying for sure it's any of these guys  -- but this is something of a road map.  The question ... is this the right road?

THE CURSED COSTUME!
Fox

BTW, related but unrelated ... there's this new costume this season that it's absolutely wild -- and unlike anything any of us have seen before.

They call it ... Mother Nature, and it looks like just it sounds. Word is, the 'Masked Singer' team has been trying to get this puppy showcased for years. We're told producers felt the getup might be cursed, because they tried it twice before but each time the contestant had to drop out right before the show for personal reasons -- one was a Golden Globe-nominated actress and the other was a 2-time Emmy-winning actress -- but now, it's finally happening.

Anyway, check out the show to see which of Jenny's former flames/make-out partners is under the hood -- and to get a glimpse of MN in action.

Jenny McCarthy 'Masked Singer' Twist is Huge ... For Singers AND Judges!!!

BEHIND THE MASK
TMZ.com

Jenny McCarthy's all geared up for the new season of the insanely popular singing competition, "The Masked Singer," and says it will lead to a new kind of reveal ... of the judges' egos.

Jenny's one of 4 judges on the show -- along with Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger -- and she joined "TMZ Live" Wednesday to talk about its surprise success ... and what they're doing to keep it fresh on Season 6.

If ya haven't heard ... there's a brand new elimination twist -- the Take It Off Buzzer -- that allows the judges to guess the contestant's identity at any time if they are confident enough. And, if they're right ... that singer has to reveal themselves and go home.

Like Jenny says, it's a total game-changer and could lead to some glorious moments for the judges ... or humiliate them if they're wrong!!!

McCarthy also reminisced about how stunned she was when her hubby, Donnie Wahlberg, was revealed as one of the masked performers on Season 5 ... but listen to who she says really gave her a surprise as far as singing talent goes.

For even more surprises ... tune in to "The Masked Singer" tonight at 8 PM ET on FOX, the start of a two-night event.

Joe Jonas & Sophie Turner Makin' Miami Move$ ... Buy $11 Mil Mansion

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are moving their family down south for the winter, or so it seems, because they just scooped up a luxury home ... while still having 2 others on the market.

The still-pretty-new parents -- their daughter Willa recently turned 1 -- have bought a home in Miami for a whopping $11 million ... a waterfront property located in the exclusive island community, Bay Point.

The place is a mansion -- 10,416 square feet with 6-beds, 8.5-baths, gym, swimming pool, spa, sauna, fireplace, wine cellar, indoor gardens and a koi pond ... and plenty of space to raise a toddler.

It seems the singer and the "Game of Thrones" star got a pretty good deal too, because the place hit the market for $12 mil last year.

What's interesting about this home purchase is the timing -- Joe and Sophie just listed their 15,000 sq. ft. Encino mansion for nearly $17 mil in early summer ... but it doesn't seem it's sold yet.

Likewise, they listed their Manhattan pad about a year ago for nearly $6 mil, but there's no report of a sale there either.

So, it looks like the couple's settled on settling down in Florida ... but they still have very rich options elsewhere.

'Fedora Guy' Jerry Messing Battling Paralysis After COVID ... But Out of ICU Recovering

Jerry Messing -- known for his role on "Freaks and Geeks" and as the face of a famous meme -- has overcome a huge hurdle in his fight with COVID-19 ... but has another major challenge ahead of him.

First, the good news -- Jerry tells TMZ after being hospitalized in August and placed on a ventilator, he's out of the ICU and off the ventilator ... has been for about a week and a half now. He's also breathing fine without a fever or cough, and has tested negative for COVID.

Sadly though, Jerry says the virus has left him partially paralyzed. He can't move his arms and legs well, and is unable to stand and walk on his own. Jerry says he's doing physical therapy and using a machine to get his legs working again.

The doctors have told him his recovery is going to take some time -- he was already hospitalized for more than a month -- but he tells us things are looking up, and he thanks everyone for their support.

We broke the story ... Jerry got his first dose of the Pfizer vaccine before he got sick, and his dad, James, determined his illness was serious and he needed aid.

Jerry says he has not completed the vaccination process yet -- doctors want him to wait until he's healthier. In particular, they need to make sure he's completely over the pneumonia he contracted during the height of his COVID battle.

James believes Jerry's in good hands at a rehab facility in Tampa that caters to people who are on the road back to recovery ... but if something goes wrong they're fully capable of handling the situation.

Jerry played Gordon Crisp on "Freaks and Geeks" and Pugsley on the "Addams Family Reunion" TV movie before gaining more modern fame as "The Fedora Guy" -- one of the Internet's most popular memes.

Get well soon, Jerry!!!

'Sex and the City' Willie Garson Dead at 57 ... After Cancer Battle

Willie Garson -- famous for his role in the "Sex and the City" series and movies -- has died ... according to his close friends.

"Bosch" star Titus Welliver broke the news of Willie's passing with a post that said, "There are no words. I love you dear brother. We are fewer," and he attached a photo of Willie.

Willie's fellow actor and friend Rob Morrow also posted a tribute.

Sources connected to the 'SATC' star tell us he'd been battling cancer, though we've not confirmed it as his cause of death.

Willie was a fan fave from the hit HBO series ... playing Sarah Jessica Parker's male BFF, Stanford Blatch -- a gay socialite who Carrie Bradshaw often called "Stanny."

He didn't appear in every episode, but for the 27 he did pop up for over the course of 6 years ... his scenes were always memorable.

Willie was also in both 'SATC' movies ... and he's at least slated to appear with SJP and co. in "And Just Like That..." -- the new HBO Max series. We know he shot scenes in NYC this summer with Sarah Jessica and Mario Cantone.

WG's roles went well beyond 'SATC' though -- he's been in tons of shows and movies throughout his career ... including stuff like "White Collar," "Hawaii Five-0," "Quantum Leap," "Girl Meets World," "Mr. Belvedere," "Just Shoot Me!" "Big Mouth," "Supergirl," and many, many more.

He's got a total of 170 acting credits to his name, dating back to the '80s.

Willie was 57. He leaves behind his son, Nathen.

RIP

Tarek El Moussa Positive for COVID ... Impacts HGTV & 'Selling Sunset'

Tarek El Moussa has COVID-19, which means his TV show is pausing production, but it's also making waves for his fiancee, Heather Rae Young's hit show on Netflix.

The HGTV star's rep tells TMZ ... Tarek came back with a positive result recently, and after consulting with his doc -- he's decided to quarantine and take a break from filming his series, 'Flipping 101.' After his quarantine period, he'll return to the show.

We're told Tarek will quarantine with Heather, who hasn't tested positive, but will also be taking a break from "Selling Sunset." BTW, they're both fully vaccinated -- and the rep says Tarek isn't experiencing any symptoms at the moment.

Production sources say filming for 'SS' was halted this past Friday -- and that everything is going on standby out of an abundance of caution. Both stars want to do things as safely and responsibly as possible.

There's also this ... we're told there's suspicion Tarek's result was a false positive. We're told he's had multiple negative tests since the positive one, but has stepped back from production ... just to ensure everyone around him remains healthy.

If ya didn't know, Tarek and Heather are living together ... they just got engaged this past July, and have been dating for a little over a year. Now, they get to quarantine together. Again.

Michael K. Williams Family Says Oscar, Emmy Coming Soon ... Despite Emmy Loss

Michael K. Williams' family is convinced a posthumous Oscar and Emmy is in the cards ... based on not-yet-released projects he starred in before his tragic passing.

Dominic Dupont, Michael's nephew, tells TMZ ... while the family's bummed Michael didn't win Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for "Lovecraft Country," they're hopeful a few upcoming projects could clinch him the coveted gold statues.

For starters, Dominic points to two upcoming films Michael starred in ... the Indi thriller "892" and Civil War-era drama "Surrounded." Dominic hasn't screened either film but believes the flicks give Michael a chance for an Oscar. As for why Dominic feels this way ... he says it's because Michael had the unparalleled ability to bring characters to life.

As for a future Emmy ... Dominic says his role in season 2 of the Vice TV docuseries "Black Market" could sway voters. Dominic, who traveled with Michael during the filming of "Black Market," says after 5 Emmy nominations ... everything teed up for an Emmy win next year.

Dominic says everyone at the Emmys was gracious to him and his wife ... and that they felt Michael's energy in the room. Dominic tells us Billy Porter and Jurnee Smollett greeted him and his family and expressed their sympathy ... while also making it clear they wanted Michael's legacy to live on.

HONOR THE LEGACY
TMZ.com

We caught up with Dominic after the Emmys and he told us he was bummed his uncle didn't get an Emmy (it went to Tobias Menzies for his portrayal of Prince Phillip in "The Crown"), but he told us he very much appreciated Kerry Washington's gesture in honoring him onstage.

Maybe soon ... Dominic will accept a statue on Michael's behalf.

2021 Emmys COVID-Safe, No Masks Required ... L.A. County Responds to Seth Rogen

Seth Rogen's rant suggesting the Emmys broke COVID safety rules is misguided ... at least according to the L.A. County Department of Health, which is refuting some of his comments.

The Health Dept. tells TMZ ... yes, the current mandate in L.A. requires everyone to wear a mask indoors -- whether vaccinated or unvaccinated -- but it also says exceptions are made for film, TV and music productions.

The county says the Emmy Awards qualify as a TV production, and all the people appearing on the show are considered performers ... so masks were not a must for attendees.

Additionally, the Dept. of Health says there were extra safety modifications in place for the event. Yes, everyone had to be fully vaxxed ... but they also had to have a verified negative COVID test within 48 hours of the show. Crew members were either fully vaccinated or recently tested as well.

Overall, the Public Health office says the Emmys reached out to share its safety protocols and they "exceeded the baseline requirements for television and film productions."

WHAT ARE WE DOING?!
CBS

Still, Rogen's speech during the ceremony was about more than just the optics of all the maskless celebs sitting close to one another. He also claimed Emmy officials promised them the show would be outdoors, and it wasn't.

WWE's Kofi Kingston Previews New Day vs. The Bloodline ... 'It's Gonna Be Awesome!'

STORYLINES ARE CONVERGING
TMZSports.com

Roman Reigns is only hours away from a rare appearance on WWE's Raw -- reigniting a new rivalry with The New Day and The Bloodline -- and Kofi Kingston says it's gonna be crazzzy!!

TMZ Sports talked to Kingston Monday afternoon ... and we asked the former WWE Champion about Roman Reigns, Jey & Jimmy Uso taking on KK, Xavier Woods and newly crowned WWE Champion, Big E.

"Big E is the WWE champion right now. Roman Reigns the Universal Champion. And we're getting to see the two people are at the top of our industry go toe-to-toe, not to mention with the Uso's and myself and Woods going at it 1 more time, as we have all grown. That in and of itself is gonna be well worth the price of admission," Kofi says.

Of course, The Uso's and The New Day have history ... as did The New Day and The Shield.

But, if you're looking for a lot of trash talk, this ain't the clip for you ... 'cause Kofi says the men have brought out the absolute best in each other over the years.

"[The Bloodline] are the best versions of themselves right now, and then you have [The New Day], probably the strongest bond in the history of WWE," Kofi says.

"I don't know if there's ever been a stronger bond than us. And all the things we've been able to do, and now we are back together, and we're doing it at a high level."

Two great tag teams clashing at the height of their powers.

HE PUT IN THE WORK
TMZSports.com

We also talked to Kingston about watching his best friend, E, beat Bobby Lashley and take his belt ... a very anxious moment for Kofi.

"I feel like I was wayyy more nervous for E in this situation than I was for myself a couple years ago. But I look over at E in gorilla [position] and he's just like cool as a cucumber, at least on the outside, not nervous at all."

Raw goes down tonight from Raleigh, North Carolina. 💪💪💪💪💪💪
